lol. i had that happen trying to install the ps3 sixaxis controller driver in windows 7. when i try to play need for speed i get blue screen trying to use the controller. it starts back up but windows 7 is buggy

i had once a virus that makes a real bluescreen in windows 7 (total bitcop what ever) the patch was originally a a virus , that's real , i fix that by going to safe mode and uninstalling the antivirus with the patch and now it works normally

this is just a beta.

allmost all bugs are fixed in the retail and oem versoin.

i say almost because there is NO! operating system that has no bugs, every OS has bugs.

this could be a bug that is in beta only, i don´t have any problems with my Windows 7, and it runs so much faster, even faster than XP, it really is what you call `Jesus`

best thing is dont activate your product until its fully worked, I dont activate it until 28 days or sometimes it shows like 3 days too activate, I would wait for 2 days,and hey on windows xp I get that too blue screen its just when I try too install windows xp on sata drive, in which that doesnt work on sata drive, I think, Id tryed all hard drive raid and sata drivers, sata works only on windows vista,

I got Windows 7 RC on my PC and it runs better that with Vista/XP and a haven't got any BSOD, With Vista, in the first day with this computer, after I had intalled Kaspersky, I had a BSOD...

I think the incompatible display driver caused the Stop system crash but you obviously have other hardware related issues. Windows would at least get to the boot screen and then Stop crash before loading the GUI. It didnt even get to the boot screen so I recon that could be a hard drive fault or the Master Boot Record is corrupted. You will have to repair the MBR or reinstall Windows.

That would be a good idea, but since he/she can't access windows, there's no way to update.

Check that there are no CD/DVD'S in your other drives or any Floppies if you have a Floppy Drive in that machine otherwise you will need to boot off your Windows 7 Disc and then launch startup repair or just reformat the PC and install Windows 7 again!

Maybe it didn't reboot because when it said press any button it probably meant that you have to press a KEYBOARD button. Ever think of that?
