It's not "under-rated", it's just industry manipulation. The public get blasted with drivel. The talented writer or singer (in this lady's case she is both) has very little chance to get through the pack. It's only slightly less filthy a business than is politics.

Shaniah Twain & Celine Dion do not have great songs-the former's voice is an embarrassment trial-though perfect for the country-tinged fluff she barks out & her only good moment was her popped-up version of 'Come On Over' album with some good singles on it. Dion has a better voice, but her slushy power-ballads are ten a penny in the US & only a few make the grade & sound important. Stevie Nicks is far more the calibre, but Sam only adds to the list of underrated UK females-we have loads here!

She was pretty popular over here in Australia in the late 80s but agree with many comments below that she is a huge talent that could have had a whole load more recognition.Great to hear she is involved with voice teaching...she would be the best.YT has some other good SB songs...thanks all,jk(well ,nothing she does is bad)

Sam is a shimmering VISION on Pink Floyd's Pulse. She's awesomely sexy here too! Maybe she didn't have enough great songs like this to get in the same league as Shania Twain, Stevie Nicks, Celine Dione e.t.c. A great voice needs great songs! Just my own view....perhaps she's been a big name in the U.S. She's from the UK, but we Brits tend to ignore the best of our own talent and we often miss out..
