I started watching this when I was seven years old, by the time it had finished I was married with kids!!!! magnificent. shits all over the ben 10 generation of crap.
@GeoVII : There are plenty of points in Ulysses 31 you could pick on, but that's not one of them. What makes you think that RADAR (essentially, high-frequency radio waves) don't travel through space? Space Does Indeed Work That Way.
And wow, what a convenient plot device in order to make the Odyssey fly blindly into a space glacier. It's original, but there's not much else positive to say about it.
Coolest cartoon of the 80s. Brought back some good memories. You put a lot of work into this but like myself and many others it is well appreciated. Thanks.
thanks for posting this vid, really cool thing to do. by the way near the beginning of this, did you see the little robot wearing pyjamas when he wakes up!! as awesome as this is, he's a robot...wearing...pyjamas!!
Euridici=Evridiki=Ευριδίκη.I love how all the names(planets, gods, heroes, villains, robots, spaceships etc)are taken from our ancient history/mythology!I love this cartoon since I was a kid!
Yeah I'd hate to be the only person who watched two 80's cartoons in the 00's and noticed there were similarities... the loneliness would be unbearable : )
Love tranformers. Say why is it that cartoons as good as this aren't shown as kids TV anymore? Is it possible that the ideas of will and personal morality are now dangerous concepts. Because that was what both this and transformers was all about.
I think its more Nanny-state stuff... A generation of 60's 'Love-Children' hit their 30s in the 1990's and said, 'You know, childhood is sacred, it's a bout innocence and love, understanding, working together'... 'These shows are too violent and combative, too scary...'... They were backed up by Religious groups and sappy parents... and like most ideologies it was complete bullshit. It'll change, you watch - Viacom are watching us all now, they might pick up some hints.
Idiots!! Childhood is about adventure, freedom and finding out about the world. How else are we supposed to learn if not by our mistakes (or other peoples mistakes??)
The whole point of cartoons is a fantastic environment which we can either escape to or learn from, whereas present day kiddie cartoons aren't really effective for either of those.
@PyramidHead2000 The 1980s was the best when it comes to animation and kid's shows. Why? It was because the Japanese dominated over all of them. They did most of the overseas animation to them.
Greek Mythology FTW!

Wow. Yes, you're right. I was thinking of sonar for some weird reason when I heard radar.
Amended. I hereby declare that Space Only Works That Way When Radar Means Sonar.
GeoVII 1 year ago
@GeoVII : =D Amendment noted (and reasonable) - thought that might be it.

...in SPACE?
And wow, what a convenient plot device in order to make the Odyssey fly blindly into a space glacier. It's original, but there's not much else positive to say about it.
...And yet, it's still a good show.

yeah all kids' stuff seems to do these days is influnce violence, sad really, when they could be learning and using their imagination
PyramidHead2000 2 years ago
Well, I wouldn't say that's bad, per se.
I'd say that they should stop dumbing down shows, featuring emotional complexity and diverse casts of the days of yore.
Not modern day versions of the 50s era cartoons (shudders(
Orumon27 2 years ago
agreed they shouldn't go back to 50's style, but how can anyone deny that the 80's was the "Golden age" of kids' shows?
PyramidHead2000 2 years ago 15
People who never watched them. Of course, SwatKatz was an 80s style show made and released in the 90s, but thats life.
