I was in this show my freshman year, and I just decided to go back and look at it. I really think this show could have gone a lot farther if the music had more impact. You can't always tell what the melody is, and it sounds muddy at other points. That's not the band, though, that's just the composition.
Good observation. Looking at the judge's scores from this contest, you might be interested to know that the 'Visual Ensemble Execution' judging caption (which grades form consistency as a whole ensemble, including line spacing and straightness) was Georgetown's highest scoring caption/category at this particular contest. I love this year's 2009 show btw, I enjoyed watching ya'll at BOA Houston. Good luck at Westlake and San Antonio!
As well as this is performed, I feel that it lacks power. The trumpet solo is immaculate. And the pit does a wonderful job. In my opinion, intonation and instrumentation are off in a few points, and I caught a few marching errors. Considering the bands I'm used to seeing compete at a high school level, I can see a top 10-20 finish. All in all, well executed, but arrangement, and choreography aren't quite right. Nothing that could be done by the students to make it better.
This show placed 25th. The group got 17th in visual execution which I believe was their highest caption. GE scores were pretty abyssmal though.
It actually kind of saddens me that we as adults penalize a performance that exemplifies something that has been very well learned simply because it doesn't meet a particular design standard which has nothing to do with what these kids are doing.
I like the way it was re-arranged with more modernized drum rhythms and abstract diminished chords and overtones.....but while the idea is cool the show lost its 'Rome' feel. When i hear this music I dont feel like im in ancient rome at all :( Thats just a comparison to the original though... This is very well performed and I enjoyed it :)
3. Spent 2 hours figuring out a way to bypass the copy protection
4. Spent an hour ripping it and 2 hours re-encoding it into a file Youtube liked.
5. Uploaded to Youtube (this took about 5 hours since I wanted the best quality possible)
But I'm a Georgetown band alum ('04) and a marching band enthusiast, and lots of people who didn't get to see the show can now, so all in all it was worth it ^_^.

I'm in the 2009-2010 eagle band, and even though I am only a freshman, these are the best cover downs i've have yet to see!
