  • Ur so lucky, here in holland we only have lasius niger, lasius flavus myrmica rubra, formica fusca and a serveral other boring species :/

  • you are lucky

  • alot of people seem fine with just starting atta colonies, but dont they reach numbers of 8 million and have gigantic colonies the size of 3 bedroom houses and are potentially an eco disarster if they get out? but loads of people keep them, arent they difficult, sorry for all these questions, could someone message me, i am interested. (i just have a Lassius Niger Colony and soon to get Messor Barbaras.

  • A Lassius WHAT colony?!?!

just playing, this is a very impressive display.

    :)

  • and how old are u? 7 or 8?

  • nupcial flights in my backyard

  • how do u get a ant queen just dig up a ant hill

  • you should really do that, there are lots of places to buy them on the net. if you dig one up the chances are you might kill the queen and even if you do get one, you will kill all the workers that do not go with her, because unless they can hatch off another worker they will die becuase they have no purpose.

  • that is an atta sexton

  • i mean atta sexdon

  • haha :P you mean atta sexdens

  • nice..

    i have a big colony. ;D

  • raising leaf cutters is EXTREMLY hard..

  • wow thats a beautful Atta Queen, hows she doing ?

  • After two months of innactivity i dug it up and she was dead =/

  • :(, that happened to one of my honeypot queens too.

  • LOl that sucks man but yeah its a guess all the time ya know. You can never tell whats going on but normaly for fire ants and other queens it takes a month or 2 months till u see mroe activity once they dug themselfs up. What i normaly do is find some ant eggs from another ant hive and put them in a hole made for the queen i found and close the entrance with the queen and the stolen eggs and she normaly comes out alive with stolen soldiers and more eggs she made

  • oh no! well..i've set up "ant traps" so if a queen strolls into any of my rock set ups, i can take her out of the garden and into my ant farm safely!

  • @Truechuser m8 it takes like 6 months for first workers u prob killed her while digging her up

  • Please, sell for my someone in america Atta queen (mated) or Atta colony.

  • you cant buy ants or trade them in the US, its illegal, unless you get a licence, which is alot of money.

  • I´m selling young colonies of Lasius niger and Tetramorium caespitum, and next spring I will sell young queens too. If you want one, send me a PM

  • i will buy a queen for how much

  • It is illegal not matter what! queen ants are completely forbinnen from to post office unless they are dead. Lasius niger does not occur in the U.S. If you want a queen do a little research on your native ants and catch a new queen. It isn't that hard. I have 4 colonies of tetramorium in my room.

  • Check Ebay for a LASIUS NIGER QUEEN those are found in the USA and I don't think it is illegal to have one, [if you get it from ebay that is]

  • i have acromymex octo leafcutter colony in my room, about 250 workers atm, i just have a stick to the floor and put leaves in the corners of the room to find, they dont seem to run about randomly like most ants so i dont squash them, wouldnt mind getting an atta colony though :)

  • its a real bummer thats its illigal to buy ant queens without a permit in america but for uk i see queen ants for sale all over the internet

  • where can i get a leafcutter queen?

  • crazy how much bigger the queen is than the workers

  • thats amazing :D

  • WOW that queen is soo HUUUGE!! Atta should get cheaper and easyer to pet ^^

  • It's sad that it's illigal to buy theese in the U.S.

  • that's great! i love watching bugs do their thing.

so she can make a whole hive herself?

  • more more.. i want to see the finished product of her hardwork

  • Wow, very interesting act.

  • omg man! this is so cooooooooooooooooooooool! i want an ant farm now!
