Well see if you can help me with this. When I tried playing it I went from D-A-G-D *im actually using a Gmaj7. It doesnt look like you are changing from those(your D) but I could be wrong. Are those the chords you're using?

Whoa sorry I didn't see this sooner. Without a capo, to play it like I was would be D-Bm-G-D. Just change your A with a Bm. I play the G with the 3rd fret on the b string held too (not sure what that's called?), but the Gmaj7 sounds equally good.
