  • But did she not show how preparing mix not Yrdta for details process?

  • very nice would like to download that mix?

  • Comment removed

  • i usually dont comment a lot... and i know you made this video quite some time ago... but i would like tell you i really enjoyed this video you made! keep the music alive & much love!!

  • good job, definitely using technology the right way, midi mixer with ableton, like it, obviously not taken away of other mixing styles, this is a nice kool way of mixin with one hard ware and one software together, keep it up!

  • Good job :) but how they sayin' below - it's hard to see what is goin on uc33 , ohter than that - " A + " tutorial , man.

what's names of tracks that you used? let me know asap cause i just keep listening to that & i want to have it in my player :)

  • Ableton has an Export Audio file mode..that just Sucks!! Reason is wayy better!

  • zzzzzzzz solidly boring!

  • i don't want to sound like a co"k but, the tracks sound awful together, theres a massive key clash.

  • I agree key clash but I dont think it sounds bad

  • Fuckin a man, i just ordered a uc33 and i own ableton live 8 and i was trying to get instruction on this specific midi its taken forever thanks man

  • I play House and electro and mix thru to trance and Hard dance (126-146+bpm). I do alot of key mixing and dont want to lose quality of sound. I guess these are things which are holding me back from converting over to Ableton fully.

Any constructive comments welcome and keep up the good work dude. Got any gigs lined up?

  • Yo. Thought that was quite a good little demo mate. I am literally just starting to use Ableton for djing and production. Have been mixing on Vinyl and cdjs for about 10yrs. Any tips bud? Im currently using Version 5. There seems to be a massive debate about what time warp function to use, Complex or Re-pitch. What do u use and is it easy to convert one to another if need be? I don't really wanna get half way thru warping my tunes to find out im using the wrong one.

  • 7:25 it's not that smooth

  • great

  • whats that song at 6:30 it has a sick break down

  • how do you assign the first clips measurements to start at the second clips 105th measurement?

  • Cool man!

  • It would be great if someone invented a DJ prog that had a GUI like Cubase, Pro Tools or Audition. i.e. a stacked horizontal timeline. You need to be able to simultaneously see as MANY tracks from your list as possible, in order. Drag & drop them where you like. Set BPM changes at any point. MixMeister Pro had the right idea but, poorly executed. The default fade out settings and next track positioning were annoying too. Any ideas, anyone, please?! Sadly, Abelton is not right for me :(

  • ableton does have a stacked horizontal timeline.

  • Are you talking about software like Traktor, VirtualDJ, MIXX stuff?

  • you do make it look too easy

what was that massive tune at 6:30?

  • great tutorial

  • Whats the name of the song you're mixing with your original? The first one you start out with.

    If you don't mind telling.

    Please & Thanks dude

  • Ableton lets you mix on the fly too, but gives you that ability to set-up stuff before the gig so you can concentrate on other things. It gives you the best of both worlds.

    Great video by the way.

  • hiya max good mixing skils . i have that same contrller but not great at using it would u be able to put a video up on using it and setting up for ableton

  • first of all you can dj on the fly with ableton and a midi controller. secondly, you have more remix capabilities with ableton than with a straight dj set up which lets you manipulate more. i can buy a track on beatport and listen to it myself. i go to a club to hear a dj's interpretation of an original. do you consider sasha a dj? i assume you don't. i dont know where you play or who you promote, but you obviously don't appreciate the end result...new ideas.

  • both are viable options for mixing. stop being retards. make music. end of story.

  • a-fucking-men.

  • autopromotion

  • Hey, nice stuff. Thanks for the lesson. I like the music lol If you made that all from scratch, you are Good!

  • Awesome Max!

You make it look so easy, but i'm sure it's not. Thanks for the video.

  • MAX UR A RETARD

  • Ok this was a pretty good video so i will give you a little pro tip.

After warping each song take the time to listen thru the songs and right click your clip. Then push Edit Info text. Here you can type in the different parts of the songs.

    Example:

    9 - Hat Cue

    25 - Conga Cue

    33 - Bass Cue

    205 to 209 is a good loop (Length 4 0 0)

Now you activate the Info window in the botton left corner of Ableton Live and you will see this note every time you mouse over your clip. :)

  • Maybe i'm just stupid, but i can't figure out where to right click to get this option. You say "right click your clip. Then push Edit Info text" I tried right clicking on the clip in the Track Title Bar, the File Browser and the Sample Display. And i cant find the "Edit Info text" option anywhere. Could you please clarify where to find this option.

    Thanks in advance!

  • i dont get how u can be mixing without headphones :¿

  • ableton live baby thats the way, and its way better, u have freedom to concentrate on other important stuff to mix thight instead of concentrate most of the time beat matching and monitoring

  • so you do the mixing before you start or something?

  • sweet songs!! awesome transitioning! although i probably wouldnt have used a ping pong delay on the 2nd song going into the third. but awesome none the less. thanks for the tips too, you should be a teacher or something :]

    ill be subscribing.

  • How bout cueing each clip or track? They all can't be auto cue nor auto pitch. But thanks for sharing.

  • Nice video and soundtrack. As a demonstration this looks cool, but..

I don't agree that UC33 is a great mixing thingie. To mix intuitively, without having your eyes on screen or mixer all the time, you need to see the actual fader-positions on the mixer. With UC33 you have to figure out which knob/fader to touch, check the value on the scrren, adjust the fader/knob on UC33 and now you can tweak. Too many steps for me.

    It's a great synth-controller though :-)

    My $0.02

  • o hold on, i just checked the 33 manuel, and on page 9 it talks about the factory presets, but those arnt effects right? theyr just preprogramed key functions right? but yah, even a vid on the ableton effects would be cool. hey where you from?

  • o thats genius. i pretty much got the same set up as you. you should do a quick vid on how to use the uc33 to its fullest. like show lil secrets like that effect and stuff. do you by any chance know how to use its built in effects? ive been mixing on it for a year and still havent figured it out haha!

  • i didn't know the uc33 had built in effects. if you are talking about the effects in ableton, i may do a video on that later

  • hey whats that scratching effect you use in min 7?

  • basically it is just a delay send activated on one channel in addition to throwing that channel's volume slider up for a second.

  • Great tutorial, track listings?

  • Had me jumpin about in my chair:o) Nice one Man :o)Keep 'shit-kickin' :o)

  • Nice mix. Not really into this kind of dance stuff, but very good nonetheless. Keep up the good work.

  • nice simple video!

one question: I have a M-Audio Firewire 410 and Powerbook G4 and I have never got it to work with Ableton...always glitches and cracks in the sound...got any tips for that?

whats your sample setting and RAM size?

  • got that problem too. it's not a very solvable problem at this point. it is just an issue with m-audio i believe.

  • kool :)

  • Nice one :)

  • what soundcard should i buy and what controller will make my better than kate lawler

  • if you just looking for a simple external sound card, m-audio audiophile is a pretty good bang for the buck. the saffire le is also a VERY nice sound card. i am using the M-audio Firewire 410

as for MIDI controller, i have the UC33, but i have also used the x-session, trigger finger, and behringer BCR, and various M-Audio MIDI keyboards. everyone of those i would recommend, except for the X-Session which really doesn't give you enough to work with.

  • Well done man, great to see other people sharing the knowledge.

    Tarekith14

  • sweet!!! what type of effects do you have on your faders?

  • i have a ping pong delay on my send channel, and then i have an eq3 and a high pass filter on each individual channel.
