  • Well, unlike with a mac, with a PC I won't pay 2000$ for that empty white box.

  • Downloading drivers? You'd also have to do that on a Mac! Reading manuals and clearing out trial software!?! That's the person's decision! Not the coputers. Mac is retarded trying to say stuff that sounds complicated to the average American idiot...

  • anything in a white box is expensive :O

  • I used to hate macs, until I got one.

  • the funny thing is that Justin long has a PC

  • Crysis burned my friends MAC...

  • Brown Box $799.99 White Box $999.99

  • that is so true!

  • well I don't mind having Justin Long on my desk!:P

  • Hmmmmm yea, I just bought a PC and I didn't have to do any of that, 15 mins and I'm here disproving steve "the borg king" jobs.

  • im not a fanboy but how many of the worlds supercomputers are macs , mac pros or imacs ? well no

  • Ohh Apple

How silly you are trying to make stupid people buy your stupid overpriced products.

Oh wait? What? People in America buy the most Apple products?

    Silly Americans :P

  • @iani103 u are retarded, mac are great, smple yet powerful and can craet high quality stuff, and are amazing only proble i have is that they are over prized but they last for their time.

  • @jjj5006

Unfortunately that's not so. Their performance potential isn't anywhere near what a cheaper PC can accomplish. Their security is practically nonexistent, making Macs the most vulnerable machines on the entire face of the planet. Their hardware configurations are almost 2 years old, but their price tags are staggeringly high. Their internal components are the same as a PC, but they use much lower-grade parts (ie: mobile video cards, Hynix RAM, etc.) It's a lose/lose/lose.

  • Only problem I have with PCs is I was building one and I wanted to use the internet with it. But I needed a total of seventeen drivers to use the internet. And how do I get those drivers? By downloading them off the internet. I ended up burning all that crap to a disk.

  • @insecur

Windows 7 takes care of most of that for you these days with WIndows Update. Drivers can be found with a click of the button. Plug in any device, printer, or scanner, and it'll find it. I know what you're talking about, but these days, that's pretty much over.

  • @insecur Yeah.I Remember building my pc.

  • Odd how I bought a new pc laptop earlier this year and all I needed to do was set up the office pack because I needed it for school.

Guess I must have forgotten my 11 other boxes at the store.

  • love all the comments pc people have to say to try and make up for their low quality computers.

  • @johnomanmo Say that to my pc with 32 gb of ram with a graphics card that can run skyrim bf3 and mw3 .And do work too.Thats not low quality.

  • @MegaSonicKing and thats a fully upgrade 5k pc nice my mac pro has all that and is cheaper

  • @johnomanmo Hows you graphics card update

  • @johnomanmo

The Mac Pro is an unmitigated disaster. At $4999 for the 12-Core version, it still gets beaten to oblivion by SR-2 Classified PCs running around $2999. Check the benchmarks. Of all Apple's systems, the Mac Pro is by far the biggest ripoff in the lineup, which is why it's facing the axe thanks to several years of atrocious sales figures. (source: AppleInsider)

  • @MaestroDraven It's not even 12 cores. They're virtual.

  • There will always be fights over which is better and we clearly see this advertisement is bias to mac.

  • its funny how true this commercial is

  • the most money on a Mac goes in the Box, and PC on the PC....

  • Liars.

  • Lists.

  • Idiots!!!...it's Mac vs Windows, get it right already, there's plenty of morons saying "well i got a mac"? to which I have to say, well i have a mac, a windows and 2 other Linux distros on my Apple machine, after which there's a long pause followed by, "huh?" Man it makes that kid who advertised Dell for so many years, look so much more intelligent, than Apple users. And I like Apple PCs! but i don't like people who call a computer by it's OS. You can run a Mac on non-Apple platforms you know.

  • It's funny reading all the comments of PC users on these. :D

  • Come on PC users... lets face it.... Mac is just for dumb people.....

  • @Wrestlingthemeremix And what do you base this accusation on?

  • @stianjean The fact that you cant just open it up and change CPU, graphics card or anything like that and every thing is just dumbed down so even a monkey can use it.

  • @Wrestlingthemeremix You can upgrade ram and HDD. Not CPU or anything like that, no. But a Mac is more stable than a PC. And Apple chooses the hardware, and perfectly "sews" the hardware with the software so it just works. Some people don't have the need to put a new CPU or GPU since the Mac stays fast, even how much crap you've got on it.

And can you explain WHY and HOW it is "dumbed so even a monkey can use it"?

  • @stianjean Not fast enough to play Crysis 2 UHHHHH!!!!! And its not more stable than a windows computer if you know what you are doing.

  • @Wrestlingthemeremix Macs are not for gaming. Macs are for everything else.

  • @stianjean You mean nothing right.

  • @MegaSonicKing No. I mean everything.

  • @stianjean Ahh yes you mean work and stuff. The pc and mac can lag with videos .meaning Pc:Gaming Videos/movies .Mac:Work/movies.

  • @MegaSonicKing PC = Gaming.

Mac = Work, media, professional video and photo editing/making, chilling.

    Yeah.

And, may I ask what you mean with lag? I know what lag means in gaming context, but what do you mean here?

  • @stianjean I mean video lag.Videos like 10 hour nyan cat can lag. Also the pc can do all that .For video and photo editing we just need to buy a few things. They are the same .Expect one is for working. And one is for gaming. Also macs are pcs.I think you mean windows.

  • @MegaSonicKing I've heard something about MS owning the name "PC", I dunno. Anyways, lets say Windows then ;) Both can do pretty much the same, its just Windows has got some advantages and Macs have others. I think its pretty much personal preference wether you like Mac/OSX or Windows. I like OSX more than Windows, but I also own a Windows based computer.

I just hate all the trolling that comes up after videos like these. From both fanboyclubs. And I feel sometimes that I have to defend Mac...

  • @stianjean

Also incorrect. Upgrading an HDD in an iMac requires that you remove the entire screen. Not something I'd ever do, given Apple's notorious history of voiding warranties if you so much as sneeze on the thing. Apple doesn't "sew" anything. It uses the same components as PC manufacturers, with zero difference. Now ask yourself why Apple is charging $750 to upgrade 6GB of RAM to 16GB in an iMac. Are they using some sort of hyper-powerful RAM? It's generic brand.

  • @MaestroDraven I ment MacBooks. I did not include the iMacs, my fault.

The software(drivers or whatever) is much better to utilize everything the components has to offer. I tested (not through bencmarks, thats ridiculous) a 2.7GHz i7, 4GB RAM, 1GB GPU (Just formatted) PC and my 13" MacBook Pro Spring 2010 with a load of apps on it. Who was the fastest? The MacBook, normal use and playing WoW. That was my experience at least.

But hey, you like PC, I like Mac. Why argue? :) They are both good!

  • @stianjean

No disagreement there. But OS aside, you have to look at the cost effectiveness of the platform, which just isn't there. I don't mean to sound stuck up, but WoW is the worst example of a benchmark you can use to try and justify a Mac's performance. It's built on a 7 year old game engine that was designed to work on a multitude of low-range machines. If the software was designed to work better with hardware, then why are Macs getting beaten in benchmarks every single time?

  • @MaestroDraven The cost effectiveness is there, I really believe. I mean, hardware aside, the MacOSX is a superb OS (for me at least), and it never gets slow even after 1,5 years without formatting it, and I've got a lot of crap on it, I think... And just the amazing (to me) multitouch trackpad! And everything just works. Its a stable and effective computer.

Macs might be getting beaten in in benchmarks, but to me it doesn't prove anything really. It is the user experience that counts, to me.

  • @stianjean Totally agree with you. With a Mac, you start your work and you get it done. Smooth, quick an nicely, without problems and worry.

If you want to change hardware, you can just transfer the OS with all the personal "crap" and it works like it was clean installed on the new machine. I am using the same installation from about 2 years on a second Mac now and it is rock solid indeed.

Not to say that OS X really looks beautiful. :)

  • @stianjean Your argument of OSX "remaining fast" is just plain stupid. Every piece of software "remains fast" for eternity. Programs don't have a mind of their own, and they don't decide to "get slow" after a period of time. You're probably basing that assumption on having owned an obsolete PC for many years, so its hardware was becoming faulty, and obviously it was giving you trouble. This happens with Macs as well if you didn't know. PC's are as "stable" as Macs and they're much more worth it.

  • @MaestroDraven The fight between OSX and Windows must only be on the OS, I think. I mean, no, you can't customize a Mac much, but there are people who do not need that kind of customization. That's the good thing with a Mac, it's stable and fast! I mean, its not a computer to play games on. You can play some, which actually works fine, but the gaming platform is PC.

For me, the best "argument" in this discussion is that a Mac just works. And you can make it so much more advanced than you think.

  • @stianjean

It does boil down to personal preference. From my point of view, I can do everything a Mac can do a faster, more efficient rate, and I paid much less for it. My expandability is limitless (really, you can only seriously upgrade a Mac Pro) and I know exactly what's going into the system. For Windows, it gives me what I want..versatility. That's a drawback to some who just want a system that works out of the box. Windows takes a bit more finesse to run, but I prefer it.

  • @cjulber lol, u have never used a real computer

  • The coment below is fake!!!!!!

  • My PC was in one box. No "trial" software, there was the very few standard windows programs but thats it. What new drivers? Seriously who buys a new computer that has outdated content is dumb. Also ONE manual came with the box, but PCs are simple to set up, maybe not AS simple as macs but really you dont need a brain to set it up.

  • @Allenrythe they don't use inderpowered things.

    WINDOWS USER!!

    Mac FTW!!!

    MacBook

    MacBook pro

    MacBook air

  • @apple8091

    Lol.

a $2300 MacBook Pro is only ALMOST as powerful as my $1500 Windows Laptop.

a $1700 iMac actually JUST matches my $1500 laptop in power.

a regular MacBook is as powerful as the mouse pad on my $1500 laptop.

a MacBook Air is an underpowered piece of shit that cant even rank with the processing power that is housed in my $1500 laptop BATTERY.

In all facets, Macs are RIDICULOUSLY underpowered, given what you pay for them.

  • @AndrewDeLong Have you ever tried a Mac for more than 5 minutes? Or ever really tried one? The PC might have 3.2 GHz and the mac 2.4, but what's the point of a number when the 3.2 doesn't utilize what it should? I mean, Apple uses those components with less power, but they are optimized with OSX so that it is actually faster than the windows' 3.2.

PC guys are only thinking numbers, while Mac guys are thinking actual performance in use.

You pay for what you get.

    (The numbers are examples)

  • @stianjean Wrong. We have Macs and PC's at college that are both outfitted with Intel Xeon level CPU's, and Avid. The Macs are decent, but they don't even hold a candle to the PC's there.

And what's this bullshit about OSX using less CPU power? My PC has a damn good CPU, and in idle mode, I'm lucky if the OS uses even 5% of my Hyper threaded Quad Core. Hell, even when I'm rendering, I barely break above 60% usage.

Win 7 Professional is VERY good with power delegation.

  • @AndrewDeLong When it comes to the CPU, it means that OSX is specialized with the hardware. Apple uses a long time just perfecting the OSX and the hardware. That makes the OSX use the true power, lets say, of a 2.4 CPU, at least in user experience, not numbers. OSX is just so perfected, that is why I personally like Mac OSX Lion better than Win 7.

But, now, I've just been defending the Mac. I mean; Both of the OS's are good! Everything depends on the user. I prefer Mac, but I do own a PC too.

  • @stianjean Well, as much as I may not agree with you on OSX being "specialized" for the CPU, I can at least respect the fact that you're not being a dick about your choice of computer.

you are a rare (respectful) Mac user, and do not belong on these volatile forums.

  • @stianjean

If that were true, then Apple would hold a dominant upper hand in rendering and pipelining performance, both of which it loses very badly to Windows 7. As it stands, OSX has a slight.....*slight*.....advantage with desktop multitasking and small tasks, barely noticeable. Not a good sign for the "world's most advanced OS." There's a reason why Apple throws around empty catch-phrases like GCD and OpenCL. Because it has to, really, to keep up appearances.

  • i like doing all the stuff you have to do after a clean windows install but WHO THE FUCK WILL READ MANUALS?

  • @billgatesxD

    Mac people do.

    Windows sort of works instinctively.

  • lol mac vs PC??? its mac vs WINDOWS you retarded apple ads!

  • PC guy: Try out your built in camera? Make a home movie? Is that all you can do?

    Mac guy: Yes..

PC guy: Right, once I finish downloading this video driver I'm playing Skyrim. Can your Mac run Skyrim?

    Mac guy: No.. =[

*Mac guy cries in the corner playing with his built in camera*

  • @viperxeon Macs can run Skyrim.

  • @insecur

    Not very well, however.

  • @MaestroDraven Yes, yes they can. Before you go hating try actually using a Mac.

  • @insecur

My friend, the nature of my industry means that I use Macs on a regular basis, plus I parallel OSX on my home machine. I'm extremely familiar with Mac architecture, inside and out.

  • @insecur

The point is, playing Skyrim on a Mac is an exercise in frustration. The game was meant to be enjoyed at high resolutions with all manner of graphical tricks turned way up. It simply isn't possible on a Mac, and I've heard all the excuses already. When a 2011 27" iMac can''t get past 28FPS in Starcraft II on High settings at 1680x1050, it CERTAINLY isn't going to tackle something like Skyrim at anything less than average.

  • @MaestroDraven Ok if you wan't a gaming computer buy an Asus or something. And you don't sound like you have used Macs on a regular basis. Dude use accept the fact that Macs are better than PCs in someways and PCs are better than Macs in other ways.

  • @insecur

Whether or not I "sound" like I haven't used Macs or not is of no consequence. Fact is, I use them regularly, and I have OSX paralleled on my PC right now. Nothing is going to change that. Macs aren't better than PCs at anything. The best they can muster is equal, not exceed. There's nothing wrong with that, mind you. I'm not speaking from a fanboy's perspective. If you really sat down and analyzed the facts, they would be indisputable.

  • @MaestroDraven The computers are almost two different markets. People can use Macs for school work and if they want a computer without having to worry about anything (I know Macs crash and get viruses). PCs generally have higher specifications but that is because Windows is such a heavy OS so without it the system wouldn't be stable. It's all about preference, I can do everything a PC can do on my Mac at equal efficiency, and I'm sure people can do that with PCs. Lets just drop the argument.

  • @insecur

You're...incorrect, but, you're on the right track. PCs don't need higher specs to run Windows. If that were so, then why could Snow Leopard only manage a fractional increase in multitasking over W7, and lose completely to W7 when it came to the heavy stuff? I'm not necessarily trying to argue with you, Insecur. I'm just trying to get you to understand the fundamentals between the two. You can't match a PCs performance, and you're paying way more to lag behind.

  • @insecur

I have always said that if you want a test of computational power, try creating a 60 second Trapcode Form comp with 500 pixels on the X and Y axis, and 200 on the Z axis. Render the same thing on a Mac, and on a PC. I guarantee you, the Mac will stumble and lose the challenge. It's why I use a customized rendering workstation at work. It cost me $1500. To achieve the same results, my company would have had to deck out a $4000 iMac. That's lunacy.

  • @MaestroDraven What I'm trying to say is that in my opinion your not lagging behind. I just get mad when people are like "PCs are better because they can play all this stuff that requires you to have a good graphics card a proper amount of ram and a fast enough processor" when you can really just buy a gaming console for 200 bucks. And when people are like "Macs are cooler because they are" when they don't even give info to back the statement up. Arguing about this is pathetic.

  • @insecur

I agree. But still, it's vitally important to know what you're buying, and why. The aforementioned PC power issue isn't only for games, for instance. From a workplace standpoint, the contrast is abundantly clear between the two platforms. I don't like the reality that I have to pay $4000 for a customized iMac, so that I can duplicate the power of my $1500 mid-range workstation, and still not have an SSD drive built in. That's inexcusable.

  • @insecur They like pc because they can mod it.Mod the games.

  • @insecur imo macs tend to be more suited for video software :U

thats pretty much the main thing I hear most people use a mac for.. is video software.

  • @insecur True.

  • @viperxeon bootcamp ? you know windows works faster than a pc on mac osx or if you are a die hard gamer buy consoles and do computer stuff on a mac with great performance...

if you have money of course

  • @yavuzeken How does Windows run faster on a Mac pc when all it translates to is the hardware? Macs cannot use the hardware in my current system but it is 3x better than all of Macs current offerings. Once again, Macs use the same hardware than a standard pc. In fact they probably came from the same factory.

It's more along the lines of building your own pc, I built a pc for $1400 (inc Razer I/O and a 23 inch monitor) but the mid range Mac is $1500 but the pc has 3-4x better specs.

  • @yavuzeken "If you are a die hard gamer buy consoles" Are you trolling? Consoles are the inferior, not to mention buying all consoles on the market and a basic PC will cost less than a gaming PC.

  • @yavuzeken Console .LOLOLOLOLOLOOLOLO.No .Better graphics mods .All kinds of cool shit .Console .Normal graphics no mods.

  • @viperxeon im playing skyrim in my mac :3

  • Why does apple make the most retarded ads

  • @Norocmorth when you don't sell half as many computers as microsoft, have no gaming consoles, and spend more and more time making new versions of the same phone that everyone 'has' to have, the marketing budget kinda falls short.

  • @Norocmorth because they are not as good as windows...

  • Why is it that Apple assumes EVERYONE makes home movies? I use a Mac, but I don't make home movies!

  • Macs are ugly... :\

  • God I love these commercials. Lmao

  • I love my MacBook Pro. And the manuals are really not that necessary unless you're wanting to reinstall OS X Lion.

  • While mac is making movies, pc is playing games while downloading drivers.

  • mac sucks!!!!!

  • its ironic cause macs have manuals too XD

  • Manuals? Who reads the them?

  • Why are they fighting for second place? LINUX

  • @TheXROMANX Linux? whats that? It must not be very important since I've never seen a computer sold in stores that runs Linux.

  • Let's not forget that if you want to upgrade your OS, you have to buy every incremental upgrade for a low low price of a couple hundred dollars.

  • Windows and osx both suck Osx is way to inderpowered (like one of those fake kiddy computers) and wintows tends to crash alot. But in terms of computers that windows wins:)

  • With respect, Mac's day sounds rather boring, and I use both systems!!!

  • Omg this video is Sooo true.

  • MAC FTW 

    MAC PRIDE :DDD

  • It tells a lot when people talk about "a computer vs another computer's operating system" (mac vs windows ... it's like comparing "my Nokia is better than your iOS system on iPhone").

Yes I like using Macs. I have play machines (PS3) separately from the machines I use for working.

  • when comparing mac vs window why do they use a cheap pc vs a thousand pound mac?! use a high spec pc and then see who wins :)

  • @humayoun11

It rarely matters. CNET pitted a 41000 PC against the $1999 iMac, and the iMac lost terribly in a Starcraft II benchmark test. I believe the numbers were 112 FPS for the PC on Ultra settings, and 28FPS for the iMac on High Settings. That's one degree lower, and it still couldn't keep up.

  • kk, Stop arguing about the fact that pc has better gaming. True it does, but what does gaming do? its an addiction that spoils your life.. wouldn't you rather be more productive and do something better?

  • @callofdutyquickscopz Like watching Mac vs PC commercials on youtube?

  • @callofdutyquickscopz what does gaming do?.... nice username then...

  • Mac vs. Windows NOT Mac vs. PC.

  • @daviesman90 mac is a term most people use for apple computers and pc is for windows and vista and stuff. it isn't correct but 99% of computer users use it but that is right but i don't like where u could be going with that...

  • @daviesman90 Dude.. Windows is widely known as PC, it's the same thing. Do you hear Windows alot nowadays? I don't.

  • @andz012 I say Windows PC when talking about computers. Not calling a Mac a PC would kind of worrying since PC stands for Personal Computer and then you are saying that Mac's are not personal.

  • @andz012 but Linux is also a PC .. dun dun dunnnnn

  • MACs open some things like office word for no reason, and are slow, and crash alot. -_-'

  • Everytime i watch these i feel sorry for pc lol

  • And you know the result of the PC and all of his boxes? A way more kickass computer than a Mac.

  • O.O i just plugged my pc in out of the box....

  • @MrIPhonemaniac

What size was the box though? A shipping container? :-)

  • @FirebrandNIRE size of a normal box O.O

  • @MrIPhonemaniac i charged mine and press the on button, worked pretty well for me

  • i bet he is not windows 7

  • @m3rl1on more like windows ME or maybe even Xp but I somehow doubt that. Because my pc is up and running within a few minutes and I'm even running Vista which I admit kinda sucks compared to XP and windows 7

  • I am both Mac and PC but I will say when i setup vista i did have to install drives, erase the trail software and on Mac is was so simple but then windows 7 came and that was simple too so.... yea...

  • "hi i'm a mac"

    "and i'm a pc"

"and since we do everything through a browser now, we're pretty much indistinguishable"

    ahh... xkcd

  • no wonder i don't use pcs they seem like they never are working to full standard theyre slow and keep on using bloody anti virus sheeet. But macs don't run games!!!!!!!!!! whhyyy??

  • @IRNBRU64 I suggest you get a fisher price kids laptop. There retard friendly.

  • @IRNBRU64

Because MACS were made primarily for designing, graphics work, photo editing, animations, and making music with that silly application and making videos that are a pain to edit.

    (graphic design student here)

And since so few people have them compared to PC owners most games are not made in a MAC version only a PC version(WoW being the exception, I don't play it but I know some who do).

As for why no games for MAC, it is marketing 101 not a large enough audience to make it worthwhile.

  • You know why people use PC? Gaming. You know what the purpose of gaming is for? People who have too much time on their hands and don't know how to manage their time.

  • @sabrd cause they are rich and you are probably jealous of their money and their ability to have some free time?

  • wha.... i have a pc, i did not need to download any drivers or read any manuals... i even have a built in camera

  • the only trial sofware i deleted from my laptop was norton anti virus

  • You could just build your own computer like a Ma- Hold on...

  • i took my PC out of the box, booted it, and was on the internet right away, no trial software at all, drivers up to date, whats apple's point again?

  • wait a minute... windows has a lot of applications to use and they could upgrade it... what is this vid all about?

  • go go go mac

  • yay mac

  • Comment removed

  • The PC looks more professional to me.

  • Loll

  • Hold space and say LoLlipop (aliens)

  • Ever notice only MAC Fanboys post these videos?

  • I like reading all the comments of mac users and PC users fighting

  • Why does the Mac remind me of kevin rose?

  • i'm watching this on a PC ';. D

  • @ThePaalanBoy me to

  • I built my PC...

    NO BOX FOR ME!

  • Since Windows copies all of macs ideas I think it's safe to say Apple's better.

  • @macsdestroypcs Not? Besides, it's not like apple never copied anyone else. Their OS is Unix based, they copied the Android notification system and put it in iOS5, not to mention they outright lie about stuff and mislead people.

  • @macsdestroypcs a lot of programs only support pc. and i mean a lot.

  • LMAOOO Mac just made fun of them selves in this video

  • Comment removed

  • mac cant play terraria D:

  • Wnen Mac cam i broken, you have no cumputer till it will return reapired, but when pc cam i broken only part you are missing is cam...

  • You, Mac sucks, but the iPod, iPhone, and even the iPad are good. Apple should become all mobile.

  • You know whats in PC's other boxes? All his games.

  • @PoisonImpurity868 Why are all Windows fanboys bringing that up "games" is that seriously the only thing you can counter with. And no i'm not implying that the Windows platform isn't good for anything else, though i do imply that you don't know any other examples.

  • @Xaeleep Do Macs have a free movie-making program, like how Windows has WMM, without it being a trial version?

  • @IdentifiableUser ILife is included for free on every Mac ;) Try again...

  • @Xaeleep Do Macs support hardware upgrades? Nope.

Do Macs allow you to repair them if they break? Nope.

Are Macs worth the price with the out-of-date hardware inside? Nope.

  • @EzeCoyote Do Macs support hardware upgrades? -Yes they do. Google: "Mac parts"

Do Macs allow you to repair them if they break? -Yes. How do i know, well I've upgraded Mac Pro's and IMac's, still don't belive me? Search on youtube.

Are Macs worth the price with the out of date hardware inside? I didn't know that i7 and i5 And DDR 3 memory was outdated :/

  • @Xaeleep I was talking mainly Macbooks, but okay.

And that's not "outdated" per say, but you're paying WAY too much for it. You could get a PC for equal price and get a better processor, better graphics card and more RAM.
