(Spoiler alert) Hmm, Zelda hearing her "former" voice call out for her, being hylia. And only she can hear them?

Oddly enough this is kind of what gets mirrored in Twilight Princess with link and the hero shade, midna doesn't acknowledge the fact that link even goes through an ordeal with the golden wolf, and the hero shade passes on knowledge and ablilities that only TP Link can learn.

Now, knowing that the Hero Shade is OOT link confirms that it has to be the same "incarnation" process
