  • WOW, this will help with my homework

  • A true hero. Thx.

  • The Quadratic Formula was first proposed by Indian scientist Sridhar Acharya

  • wow you are the only person in the world who can help me understand factoring quadratic equations. thanks sir you helped me on my retake.

  • thank you very much!!!

  • Wow thanks

  • Wait a minute... im just grade 6 and im here..... anyway thanks for the video

  • Thanks.

  • Thank you so much for this. I totally forgot how to do this...you are a life saver!!

  • Thank you so much your saving my grade in math God is surely going to bless you

  • good instructions shele

  • you really shoulda told us that you have to devide the fraction by 3 after the second part , in the second equation because if i didnt know that myself i would have been lost.

  • @raquelwazhere1 you can make a video and point that out

  • test on this tommorrowD: PRAY FOR ME PLEASE

  • like this if your here cause your teacher cant teach for shit.

  • Hi my name is darweish : You are really genius man i math can i learn lessones with you

    ?? :)

  • this saved my life, literally

  • @catie817 glad i could help : )

  • how did u get 2x and -8?

  • dude i actually love you i am in gr 10 academic math and im really struggling im just nearly passing you helped me alot! :) thank you!

  • what if you were to have r(squared)+25=0? How would you get the roots for that?

  • @sweetemonster there are no real roots. what real number can you square and add 25 to it so that you get zero?

  • you really are a good freaking teacher you should be a private tutor

  • @Myfaceagain i used to do a lot of tutoring

  • Good Job.

  • genius!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

  • my teacher told me there can only b 1 answer to an quadratic equation???

  • @MissSmartCookie1 i hope your teacher did not say that

  • My sound is not working and I still have no idea. lol.

  • WTF.... The first problem there was only 1 step to solving it, and the examples from the book gave me 11 steps... OMG... Why do they make things complicated??? Thanks pat..

  • 3 = 0 dummy

  • USE THE BOX!

  • You know you're boss when you're doing math with a sharpie!

  • Thanks alot mate!!!!!!

  • Please master, give me your genes!

  • will you be my teacher please

  • Omgggg, thanks so much for these videos. Really struggling right now in my math class but your explanations are very clear and will definitely help me with learning quadratic equations!

  • Gosh!! i am only in the 8th grade and we study this..... in the next quarter we are about to study the Fibonacci sequence .... arggghh!!!!! thanks for the help. this really helped me a lot :)

  • @sk8tergurl143amber What's so aggravating about the Fibonacci sequence?

  • How did you get -2 out of x+2? Why is it negative?

  • @abstrakt237 the reason he got -2 is because x+2=0

so to get the x on it's own he subtracted 2 from both sides. x+2-2=x and 0-2= -2

I really hope that made sense and helped a little.

  • hey man, great job on the lesson. I GET IT NOW :D

better then my 60 year old math teacher!

    Subbed <3

  • what if u have numbers that u cant get numbers that multiply and add to equal them like "Multiply 8 and Add to 12"?

  • @jiuop i would use the quadratic formula in that case to find any roots/ zeros / solutions

  • @patrickJMT okay thanks

  • Thanks for the great explanations. You make algebra understandable. Awesome job!

  • Thank you.

  • 10 people failed

  • thanks

  • Hey Patrick, is there another way to do this quadratic equation?

  • @TheNeisha17 factoring, quadratic formula, graphing, completing the square. those are the typical ways to solve a quadratic equation.

  • @patrickJMT Alright thanks.......do you have any videos solving compound Interest?

  • Im glad for you videos, my collage algebra teacher explains this stuff 100 miles an hour, skips some of the steps and I get nothing out of it.

  • straight line tips thanks very useful for any age.

  • Hey, this video really helped. I learnt this at school, but this completely refreshed my memory.

  • @thesomewhatmistified Fuck you, this guy helped me pass my Math test. Just because he's great at math, doesn't make him a nerd.

  • Comment removed

  • @thesomewhatmistified oh... sorry....

  • Alright, so I want to learn all of Algebra I + II, and probably Trigonometry. I'm not going to wait until I learn it in class, so where can I go to learn it all?

  • @fishspidery the bookstore and the internet

  • @patrickJMT Free*

    Also, any links?

  • your handwriting and the way you teach is better than my teacher.

  • i love you

  • Thanks

  • For All the Kids out there Who Need a Calculator That is SCIENTIFIC Your Vista/windows7/xp PC Version has a Option for scientific if you press ALT>V

    Great tutorials

  • 9 people faied in their maths exam...... lol!

  • nice handwriting

  • thanks for the vid broski

  • Oh I get it the whole idea is to get 0. So on a multiple choice test this should be cake because all you have to do is plug in a few numbers.

  • why isn't a=2?

  • @baylis25 ok i watched more and thats why lol

  • @sublimeamiga and it helps to solve physic problems.

  • @sublimeamiga If this was never taught, how would we know how to do it when the world forgets it...

  • Wish i had your brain lol

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the help. This is the best explanation I've gotten on these concepts thus far.

  • we are already done on that topic!

  • thank you

  • thank you so much!

  • Thank you. This was very helpful.

  • thanks..

im doing A level maths at college and i completly forgot this method

  • Thank you for taking the time to create these helpful videos. How ironic is it that I can get better help online than I can get in a school?

  • @SeizureProcedure in the age of the internet, probably not that ironic : )

  • thank you so much, I didn't get this formula since 7th grade....now im in 10th LOL but thanks a lot youre a lot better than khan academy because youre not using a computer....thanks again

  • Thanks man save :)

  • math entrance retake tomorrow and you have just saved my life

  • Thanks man (:

    real helpful

  • i first encountered "quadratic equations" on your rational exponents video. so, after i watched it, i searched for this video and - ping! - already understood it before our teacher discussed it to us.

  • thanks this really helped.

  • what if the number inside the square root turns out negative?

  • Without Math, most of the things we see, hear, and touch wouldn't be possible: Buildings, Automobiles, Computers, and etc... The list goes on and on...

Education only makes life easier for all

  • Thank you! <3

  • Great vid, thanks for the upload!

  • exam in about 3 hours, nd ur video saved my life =']

    thnx <3

  • i dont quite understand how you substituted a 1 in for 2x?? or a -1 in for bx??? im in algebra this year and we are trying to learn factoring, but i dont understand it the way the teacher teaches it. i found your vids and they make alot more sense but tht is the one thing i did not get. could you explain it for me please?

  • thanks...that review is excellent. God bless you for sharing

  • thank you so much this was extremely helpful!

  • what happens to the three outside the brackets?

  • fantastic video!

  • This guy saved my life!!!!!! i wish i looked earlier though aha

  • wow thank you, that was very very helpful :]

  • Well we learned this using the diamond puzzle, but i dont understand how they are negative (2 & 3 on the first problem) I got posatives on both. Okay 2x3 you get 6, 2+3 you get 5. I get that but why would they be negatives. It would result in being -2+-3 which is -5. The question is x squared +5. Not negative 5.

  • nigga

  • how can you do it when a number that is equivalent to the equation is not 0 for example i have 9x^2-12x+4=3??? can you tell me what to do with the three?

  • @matxloco I don't know if any1 told you, but you just minus it from the right and the left so you are left with 9x^2-12x+1=0

  • Always remember everyone that quadratic equations have 2 solutions!

  • Thanks, this really helped :D

  • btw, what is a constant?

  • i love you.

  • 0:01

  • I'm working on this problem: X to the 3rd power plus 3X to the second power plus 2X equals 0. The answer is 0, -1, -2. Do I use the method you used to solve the first problem to solve the one I'm working on? Cuz I tried it and wanted to make sure.

  • @americanzero Yes. There is no need to use the quadratic formula when an equation is easy enough to solve without it.

    x^3+3x^2+2x = 0

    x(x^2+3x+2) = 0

    x(x+2)(x+1)=0

    x=0, -1, -2

  • thanx patrick really helped

  • i want my teacher to die..

  • this shit is so easy..and you should be my teacher

  • awesome awesome ur a better teacher than my current one

  • great, but i still don't understand, I wish someone would explain were they got the numbers from. sorry, i don't catch on fast. lol. FRESHMAN:)

  • @NINJATRONABLE You just divided, sorry i GET it now. thanks you are AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • UR AWESOME

  • Thank u so much! this helped me a lot! My teacher is a horrible math teacher. I don't understand a thing he says.

  • i had trouble, my teacher tought us this, but she gave us a different varriation which she didint even thought... anyway need your help.

    her questions goes likes this : "y = 4xsquared or questions like y = x squared - x - 2 and y =1.5 xsquared - 2 THANKS!

  • lol im teacher tot this a lot easier...theres even a song for it..if you guys want a easier method message me and ill make a video for you guys

  • does it really matter how it relates to the real world, we have to learn it regardless.

  • @pscjenny yes and no, i guess. would be nice to have a bit of motivation though!

  • @patrickJMT my motivation is, either learn this, or work at Mcdonalds the rest of my life. :)

  • @pscjenny I really don't like math at all. I hate it to be honest. But I guess what's motivating me to 'like' math is because I was at my summer program thing and this guy told me that "You don't need math to be a lawyer, but the best lawyer that I know is a lawyer that actually took math and giving him the ability to be able to think quickly on situations"

Meaning, Math helps you mentally, definitely not our specific careers but it'll help you. That's my motivation.

  • The last equation was really Complicated

    But thanks any way

  • It's helpful thank you.

  • FUCK MATH.

  • I still dont understand any of this...

  • Does it matter wich one you put in first the 2 or 3?

  • awesome video really helped!

but cud u plz tell me how do i solve an quadratic equation with the method of completing the square?????????

my boards r cumin pretty real real soon and i wanna get this rit...

and also if u cud tell how to form equations out of word problems..

  • Comment removed

  • I've done it different but worked out getting the same answer but in different order.

    3x^2+6x=24 then 3x^2-24=0

    3x^2+12x=-6x=-24=0

    3x(x+4)-6(x+4)=0

    (x+4)(3x-6)=0

    x+4=0 and 3x-6=0

    x=-4 and 3x=6 then x=2

Can you tell me if my way is correct as well? Like my answer is same but in different order to yours, mine starts with x=-4 first instead of x=2 first. As I'm not sure if I'll get marked incorrectly if I placed them differently to the examiner's answer.

Thanks for video, great for warm ups!

  • I just wanted to review some stuff from my algebra year, thanks for this video.

  • Thanks man math is really challenging fo me especially quadratics :D

  • Hey correct me if I'm wrong but if you graph these equations on a TI calculator the coordinates where the line or parabola touch the x axis are the solutions to these quadratic equations right?

  • Great help for students like myself taking online courses without a teacher. Thank you

  • So Helpful !

  • THANK YOU SOOOO

    MUCHHHH

    IT HELPEDDD A LOT!!!!!

  • THANK YOU!

  • thnx a lot man!!!

    it helped me a LOTTTT!!

  • i luv u

  • I don't know what I would of done without you, thanks to you I finally passed math, now it looks like im going to be graduating. My mom was going to kick me out, I was going to have to quit my job, but because of you, none of that is going to happen. My Mom and Dad are so proud of me!! You saved my life, literally!! Thanks so much!!

  • Thanks, nice and simple!

  • thanks man i need this for finals hahhaa

  • hes left handed

  • You are saving LIVES. =)

  • at 6:31 shouldn't A = 2?

  • @00itsabouttime00 He corrected himself at 7:02

  • thanx bro!

btw can u make a vid abt cumm.frequency plzz

  • I was wondering, what is the bigger picture of all this algebra? How would you use the quadratic formula in real life situations, or perhaps in a word problem?

  • @SublimeAmiga i am sure if you look at the word problems in your book, they would list a bunch.

  • @patrickJMT

I am in the class after this one, it's College Algebra but, I am brushing up on my factoring skills lol Thanks :-) I was just curious about how it relates to life. I know with our word problems we get systems of equations but, I don't have any quadratic ones in my book.

  • @SublimeAmiga projectile motion, rate problems (a can do a job in 4 hours, b can do the same job in 8 hours, how long will it take them together) are two off the top of my head

  • @SublimeAmiga This is not college Algebra.. I'm in the 10th grade and i've learnt this a while ago

  • @HeroOfMinecraft I never called "this" college algebra in the first place....I said I was in the the class AFTER this one......Do you have nothing better to do than troll comments?

  • @SublimeAmiga No, not really :l

  • @HeroOfMinecraft then why are you even watching this video?? if you already learned it you wouldnt be doing so. besides this dude doesnt HAVE to make youtube videos to help people!! you are just being rude. so what if people are only just now learning it?!?!? woop-dee-doo for you!

  • @RosarioVampiress Whoa whoa whoa, dode, why umad? I watched this video to review my notes. Get off your highhorse.

  • @SublimeAmiga computing trajectories in projectile motion would be one use, but it all depends if you aspire to be stacking shelves in a supermarket, or if you want to go on and do something that pays well for a living?

  • @SublimeAmiga Learning anything that involves problem solving helps you in the real world because it improves your overall logic.

  • @SublimeAmiga I use the quadratic formula to get women. Moth to a flame I tell ya!

  • @SublimeAmiga you wouldnt thats why math is BULLSHIT :)

  • @SublimeAmiga become a physicists

  • do my hw please

  • screw all the methods X_x I'm gonna just use the quadratic formula

  • Can you do my hw?

  • @Cryostrike most likely

  • still dont get it

  • i notice really smart or creative people are left-handed. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

  • @ChannelTofu hahaha

  • i guess gr.10 math only uses factoring, partial factoring, and completing the square. but i'll keep the quadratic formula method in mind. great vids btw.

  • @mystiqueman366 THIS IS GRADE 10 WORK!?!?!?!? wow

im in 7th grade and im 11 and i just owned this thanx to him*wink wink*
