WD TV Live HD ~ Keyboard support (bluetooth aswell) on latest beta firmware

Hi b.rad´s WDLXTV support this feature? (Bluethoot Keyboard) and obiously needed an usb Bluetooth adapter, is correctly?

Problems, again and again. I just want to play dvd's / ts-files. Had many problems with the network and now it can't play the ts-files.

Is there any info on wireless keyboards that I can use for this device???

@Goudenkooigevecht Keyboards with factory-paired USB dongle mostly work. I'd advice you taking Logitech's ones & they are the best ;)

my keyboard is not working at all, don't know why is that, it just turns the lights on and that's it, won't go further i'm using a Dell USB keyboard

@ElAmorDeYei What firmware are you on ? The latest official firmware brings a better support for keyboards + Facebook + Weather + other streaming platforms.

@soyanutella Yes I know, i got the latest one from WD page, but still not letting me use my Dell Keyboard, should i do a downgrade then upgraded back?

@ElAmorDeYei A new WD TV Live firmware has been pushed yesterday, it corrects some issues with hotplugging USB keyboards + other things about FB Deezer interfaces : download.wdc.com/wdtv/wdtvlive­_1.04.17_V.zip

@soyanutella GREAT i updated it and is working now, AMAZING, they have to do 2 things now, create a way to turn your media player off and on with a combination of keys stroke and find a web browser capable of handling Flash and all his crashing, if a Blackberry can do web browsing why this media player can't with a better CPU and RAM?

@ElAmorDeYei The main problem is not processing power but you know some legal limitations such as activating acceleration under software other than the stocks one. WD TV Live & Live Plus have virtually the same chips but the latter has an added support for DRM protection. SIGMA has to allow it before developers can fully use all the hardware onboard.

But yeah there is a port of webkit browser on WD TV Live but it is really sluggish because of these legal issues.

@soyanutella: How do you get the keyboard to work? I've tried the link you've provided but it's a dead link. I've downloaded the latest b-rad firmware but that don't work either. I've got the WD TV Live, if you could help me out in any way I'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

Can you TYPE IN lettres with the letters on the keyboard? Inplace of going "left, left, left, up" for "A' ?

@soyanutella Fast reply, but here's another one: You can EATHER have the WDTV Live WITH Toutube HD support, OR the Keyboard support. But at this very moment, it's impossible to have both? (Brad has an old FW)

@SalimRMAF Yeah you'll have ti wait for a B.Rad release. He won't make any custom firmwares out of BETA releases but it will come soon + he's kindof really busy with the plugins stuff. Just a matter of time though..

Real nice. Why did I have to use my PC to view this? Why can't I see this on my WD TV Live player. I don't know which version (720p, 480p, 360p). For some reason "syndication" is set so I can't see this Youtube video about WD TV Live on my WD TV Live that shows Youtube video.

@darthouse Are you using B.rad custom firmware ? If so you can set the highest quality available for your WD TV Live ;)

@soyanutella Sadly, just the stock standard WD offering. So there IS a reason for setting the syndication so a stock WD can't see. You want me to join the custom firmware users?  :-) Grow the user base. I might just do that. Thanks for responding.

Hang on, you did that with wireless as well? How did that work? You plugged something into the WDTV Live?

@lamtsite You just have to plug in the USB dongle supplied with your keyboard, that's all ;)
