  • I'm Asian too, and I've been really liking Mario Badescu Whitening Mask. It's very moisturizing (I use it more often during the winter) and it's a great overnight spot-treatment for new post-acne marks. I find that once a pimple is healed, and it leaves a red mark, using this helps the marks noticeably lighter within several days. Highly recommended!

  • @Joyceline oh, i hav heard FANTASTIC things about that line and see it in my skincare rx mailings I get...I am tempted to try the line...I am pretty loyal to MD Forte or Dr. Perricone right now (so expensive) but perhaps I will order this one product. ....thanks so much for the referral on it! so glad it works for you! :)) With harsh, dry winter coming up here, it would be a nice change!

  • @shivayalovsmakeup If you go to the Mario Badescu website and fill out their little questionaire thing, they will send you a bunch of free samples to try out. :) Good luck!

  • @Joyceline Thank you for the tip! I will do that, as I would lov to try some products in the line....thanks again. :))

  • The first day I used this product it lightened instantly...I tried it on a really dark spot on my leg and on my face and it did lighten it.....I tried Dr.Fred skin whitener and it did nothing for me....It seems as if I tried them all.....Thanks for the vid review on Porcelana...

  • Thank you for this video! Very helpful. :) xxx

  • @katanaxou thank u for watching - i really apprecaite it and if u hav any recommendations to add, would lov to hear them. :))

  • @shivayalovsmakeup

Yeah, actually what has worked for me the most is using 'anti dark spot'/'anti age spot'/'melanin control' sunscreens religiously, two that have worked are "Solar expertise anti wrinkle, anti age spot cream" and "Boots No7 anti darkspot" (both spf 50), ive seen a huge reduction in my hyperpigmentation since using these!

Exfoliating twice a week followed by the application of a brightening or lightening serum to the dark spots (loads of good one's on sasa.com).

  • @katanaxou Thank u much for those recommendations! I did some research on the web & really want 2 get the Boots #7 product ! I forget how important sunscreen is & hav not found 1 that I like --leaves too much of a white caste or a shine. The Boots got rave reviews! I'll hav 2 research where 2 get it in the US - seems readily availabe in the UK (pity - I was just there in October n could've stocked up!) I don't see it at Target like some hav in the US. Thank u 4 all the help! :))

  • Yeah the No 7 one is definitely one of the best sunscreens ive used. It doesn't leave a white cast whatsoever on me (and i have olive-toned skin), there is a slight bit of shine on my t-zone (where I have oily skin anyway), but once its absorbed I just put a bit of powder there and blot if necessary at some point in the day. It's an excellent base for makeup- it tends to prevent makeup creasing in lin and its finees etc - so it's a superb base for makeup. good luck battle your HP hon :)

  • I was wondering if you or know anybody who has tried the pigment corrective dietary pills from Perricone MD or the Pigment Corrective Topical

  • @NoritaRocks I hav never tried them or know anyone who has but I have read rave reviews. I used to take the vitamins called My Daily Dose and it did wonders for my skin but can't afford it right now - I think the trick is a combination of topical, and internal treatments, imho.

  • I have horrible " Melasma" on my cheeks....I am trying everything currently using The porcelana cream but it is super drying . bottle has a a message that if you see no changes after three months to stop using it ..

  • @NoritaRocks I had that too, esp. during and after my pregnancy. Porcelana never worked for me and was sooo sticky imho. Yuck.

Good luck. Plz keep me posted if it works for you - that would be great news! thanks for the comment. :)

  • The porcelana cream even has a message that if you see no changes after three months to stop using it ..

  • @NoritaRocks Hi there. Right. A lot of products say to discontinue use after a few weeks to 3 months. Procelana did nothing for me and sorry to say, I do think in this case "you get what you pay for." Drugstore make up has "dupes" but it seems like you gotta pay big bucks for proper formulation or laser treatment. I'm waiting as long as possible on the laser - so expensive! but i am using a repair treatment by perricone md now that i'm happy with. will do a review in a few months. good luck!

  • I used it last night and my skin feels super super dry today ...I think I a should just stop using it.

  • Good video! I bought the Porcelana cream a few days ago and I wasn't too happy with it because it dries my face. I wasn't sure if return it or keep it but now that I saw your video and I know it didn't work for you I'm just going to return it and get my $5 back. lol

  • @LeniGirly Hi there! Yes, if i were you, I would get your money back, lol. :)) There is something to be said for the saying "you get what you pay for." I don't want to have to pay for laser treatment or the **most** expensive prioducts, but I do think that there is a happy medium out there. Plz let me know if u find anything u like and thank u for the comment. :))

  • great vid=) i've used all kinds of different products fro hyperpigmentation..i still have some old acne scars and i guess i'm also just trying to prevent any discoloration that will occur w/ age n sun exposure..i also used cold plasma n like it 2but its way2 pricy! shiseido white lucent lotion in my opinion doesn't do anything long term..it does instantly brigthen the skin cuz the lotion itself is white n kinda pearly but it doesn;t do much treating hyperpigmenation permenantly..

  • i do like shiseido white lucent serum n spot treatment..if u want any long term/permenant effect from shiseido white lucent line u would hav 2use the entire line (cleaner, toner, serum, spot treatment, lotion/cream) n use them4 more than couple of mnths.at least this is what my dermatologist says n i do agree w/ him from my own experience. ru able to get LaRoche-Posay products? they r sold at my local drugstore n highly recommended my dermatolgist n they hav a great bright/mela-d line i like:)

  • @channelesque Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! you are awesome, lov your channel, and I really enjoy your videos and your style. sorry this vid is such poor quality. i think i have gotten better over time. :)) BTW - i will hav an updated video soon b/c i hav started using the shiseido lucent and stopped using the perricone b/c i think it was starting to plateau and i was finding no more results with such a hyped up product! :

  • @channelesque hmmm i can't recall seeing LaRoche-Posay products at any of my drugstores but now I will purposely look since you mentioned it. :)) i live in the US so i hope we hav it here. It would be an investment to buy the entire shiseido line but I know you are right and it is probably the only way to get rid of those old spots without resorting to laser treatment. :(( thank u again for your comments and feedback/recommwndations. :))
