DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP! I say that becuase i know many people who don't understand something and get screwed over becuase they don't want to ask the teacher. The college proffesor is your human cheat sheet. Stay after, every day! call him/her, email, whatever you have to do and you will be fine. This class is basically built around good memory, it memorizing for the most part. So just prepare yourself, jog it in your memory and get it out of the way, and you will be fine. Goodluck!
@1992gabe thanks! i don't think i'm going to take it during the summer because i might get my EMT-B degree instead but i'll definitely try to buy a friends anatomy book at the end of the year. Thanks for the response!
@royaisfrustrated No problem. Cuz i am in the EMT study too, and i can promise you that the hardest class you would have to take is this one, unless you go to a school specified for EMT then you might not have to take it. And one more smart piece of info. When your an EMT it is hard as hell to find a job, you might want to try and join the piece core. You get experience, you get to travel, and 6,000 dollars if you complete it. And more likely to get hired when they see it on ur resume.
@1992gabe thats EXACTLY what I might do, an EMT school in my area. The guy who runs it has several degrees the I'm looking into like Disaster Relief Medicine and Trauma and what not. And you're absolutely right about the job part; I've thought about joining the peace corps or even entering as an army medic (funny how they're practically at two different ends!) but I think I'll probably end up volunteering at the hospital if I can't get hired there.
@royaisfrustrated Any volunteering work is a good idea. If you volunteer or get hired, don't be afraid to be vocal about your ideas in front of your boss, or teammate, you never know what little cause can save someones life. Good luck with everything.
This class is not hard if you study your ass off! Every day when your walking descibe to yourself what body parts are moving and how they are moving, do that when you talk, when you eat, when you piss, anything you do make sure you know how it works. Preparation and studying is the key. You will not pass this class if you do not study and you will not understand it if you don't prepare. So if you decide to take it, look up online and begin to read, look over, whatever you gotta do.
But the down fall of taking it last is not passing it. You only get so many chances so it would suck to do all your classes and fail one of the most important ones in the end. So what i would do is , if you choose not to at least got online and printout parts of the body and begin to study on your own time. The last thing you want to do is head into that class and know nothing. Try to push yourself that way you are ahead of the class when you do take it. Prepare yourself for this class, trust me
you are then taking multiple challenging classes at once, and those classes do matter for your grade. Taking it last is good becuase a lot of the time your final calsses are not that many. So taking it last eases your pressure and gives you also more time to study. Another thing you could do is take this class alone during a break semester as you said summer. Summer isn't a lot of time, but if your taking this class alone then i think its a great idea.
I'm a high school senior thinking about taking this class at a community college during the summer before I go to a state university, Advanced Placement courses were offered at my school but I didn't take it because I knew the teacher wasn't good at all, do you think taking it over the summer would be a good idea? if anyone could help that'd be great! :)
@royaisfrustrated Well this class is something that you would eather want to get out of the way, or just take it last. I would recomend it early becuase not only do you get it out of the way, but you are taking prerequisites as well. The good thing about prerequisites is that they don't count on your grade. So you could pass it with C, which gives you loads of more time to study this class. However the middle is not the time to take this class becuase (Continue) ^
Great! This video is great.... It's really helpful. I just really like the way you speak.. You're talking about things the way they were. You're so bright.
Anatomy is kicking my butt, Maybe because I'm a procrastinator or maybe b/c my college has close to zero for a lab.. I have a huge test on Tuesday and I am such a hands on learner, so the lack of lab is killing me.. Any tips to conquer that?
I am rocking and rolling. Anatomy and Physiology I and II taught by a crazy MD covering a 738 lab pages and 1114 page text book all in 10 weeks! Ahhh!
@Rayne215 mixed, some love them others don't. I would suggest the $5 single lesson and see if you like it. I also offer 10 day money back, all handled through paypal. The thing to remember is I work on the site when I have time.
I love this guy. He is so awesome. He tells it like it is. I have a one and a two year old baby and I'm currently taking bio 100 (A&P) at a community college & trying to find time to study is almost impossible. I want to go into the rad tech program & the pre-reqs are bio 201 and bio202. the pre-req for those classes are bio 100 or 101 & chem 101. I feel like maybe I bit off more than I can chew, but I really want to be a radiology tech so I can provide a better life for my kids.
Just wanted to know if you have any suggestions for students taking Anatomy and then Physiology as hybrid classes...lecture online and lab in person? Thanks for the tips now off to watch all the videos :-)
Are you still running the A&P based website or have you completely transitioned to the computer end of things. If you are not going to maintain the A&P based site anymore do you still have the page code and resources?
Awesome! I really look forward to making time to watch your videos inbetween studying A&P and taking care of the kids. Thank you so much for doing these videos and sharing so much great info!
This was an awesome piece of information. I am dying in my A&P class. I study and study but it won't stick. I am a visual learner and my prof just lectures, and you're on your own after that. Thankx for this video and the web site.
"Spelling mistake", i meant peace corp
