My fathers F355 never has. They only do if abused, like donuts or violent driving. They're hand built and very well put together, so with appropriate use they are great.

i agree. never over reved them higher than 8k rmp and they last as musch as any other car. and of course keep oil clean, and updated service records, they are made the abuse. but there is a limit to all cars.

i think bmw is deff. pushing it. but no doubt there are cars that are more expensive than italian cars. ccxr, ssc ultimate aero, ect. i agree with you. however i feel that lamborghinis and ferraris perform very well for their price. as do aston martins. but italian cars just have something about them that you don't get in any other car, no matter how expensive or fast
