  • ... i was on the production crew that filmed this ... man it awesome in that room listening to these amazing songs ... they hadnt fully made it when this was filmed ... they were just about to break - BIG TIME !!! ... one of the music highlights of my life ... it was just so raw & powerful ... i can still remember being in there thinking i cant believe i am experiencing this ... pure magic !! ... :) ... oOo ...

  • sounds just like the record!!!!

  • got this on dvd seen it so many times its fucking that epic

  • too bad they didnt play Columbia the times I saw them!

    Best band ever! No doubt.

  • liam at his best

  • This is when they first got famous. And for a band that just got going they sounded awesome here! The band was tight and Liam sang very good. This is my favourite Oasis live performance. The amps were turned up and great distortion!

  • The vocals at this gig will never be beaten, absolutely fucking insane how powerful this is

  • @theclinkmusic absolutely agree - fucking incredible vocals. so much passion, a brilliant band when on form especially in the early years. Earls Court in 2005 was a highlight for me

  • Liam's voice is perfect here !

  • @dooosilver yeah but now smoking fucked it up a bit too bad but he still can sing

  • I had a dream. Oasis came back with Bonehead, Guigsy and Tony, don't want to wake up ANYMORE.

  • Best band ever! Incredibly the sound on this DVD is even better than the album, how do they do that... Liam's voice is amazing. Watched them live in 2005 in Copenhagen, they didn't play Supersonic, Some Might Say, Go let it out, I Hope I think I know or D'you know what I mean - my favorite songs, but still it was a stellar performance. I will be listening to this till I die...

  • pure class!

  • Best band ever my bollocks. Thick cunt.

  • the way he sings at knebworth on slide away is just, how can i put it... FUCKIN MAD FOR IT!!!!!!!!

  • The 'Yeah Yeah Yeah!' bit in Columbia is eargasmic

  • @DarkfireDanny

well, oasis is orgasmic, end of story :)

  • these vocals nothing compared to gmex "be here now" liam was godlike there

  • @rivariad You're Right!

    G-Mex best gig ever

  • me and my mates used to watch this video all the time back in the day. Thanks for posting and bringing back great memories.

  • white label demo is by far the sickest version of this song though

  • fuck liam's voice so sick and powerful in these days you can BARELY even hear Noel backing.

  • makes me tingle

  • What a voice he had back in those days! Just amazing.

  • there's a tradition in the Indie scene that a band's prime occurs before they are commercially successful.. Perhaps not always the case but the speed, energy and drive of this little concert to a small audience in Brighton demonstrates why they became the biggest band in the UK, playing to the largest audience in history (250,000) eventually.. Paul McCartney paid Noel the compliment when he invited him round to his home of saying that he would have 'fitted right in' to the Beatles. 'nuff said!

  • @AriyaMetteyya seriously? I never heard of this! Is there an article or something you could give me to reference this??

  • @AriyaMetteyya I think the compliment would have been Noel's to say to Paul.

  • I remember queing outside our price the morning this came out. I was the only fkr there but that certainly changed by the time there and then was released. Good times

  • This captures the band at their best...FOR SURE

  • I got this video around the same time as the first album...changed my life

  • I love this DVD

  • its just rock n roll !

  • I found this on VHS just by chance while I was in my loft, put it on, and since then I've loved this band!

  • i bought this on VHS with by birthday money from my 10th or 11th birthday , minted

  • wow

  • anyone know where i could get a HQ version of this?

  • columbia is fucking immense!

  • Best live version of Columbia this imo

    Fucking awesome

  • I LOVE THIS BAND

    OASIS LIVE FOREVER!

  • tomorrown never knows what it does´t know to soon because i going tu buy this DVD, i got the money :)

    Oasis Rules!!!!!!!

  • I was gutted when Oasis split, thinking that this was the end of it all. But i cant believe all the oasis performances on youtube that i didnt even know existed, seeing them all is like hearing Oasis for the very first time all over again. In conclusion, Oasis are the fucking best

  • 8:29 kicking Ass

  • Liam was just a boy look that! If I could wish something I would definitely wish they get back in the 90´s

  • It just hit me. I have been watching a few Oasis vids tonight...mostly recent ones. I felt very little.

Then I searched this one and I instantly feel "mad fer it!!" and wanting to swagger around the room loving life. Thats the difference. This is fucking amazing.

  • AMAZING!

  • i was there, come from southend. its was unbelievable, rock and roll star video was filmed there

  • I just cant get over how good this is....absolute quality, wish I had been there

  • Man, Liam's vocals at their prime.

    Brilliant.

  • Very noisy gig. Just how I like it!!

  • class one of the beat performances the sound is quality

  • eeeevvveeerrryy body is going mad havin a sick time lol :D

  • this got me back on the right track

  • shame about the split, but they were never gunna re=produce this sort of performace

    class

  • You don't realise just how good this DVD is until you put it on full blast in your living room and on surround sound, with a few beers, with some mates or on your own, and jump around the room for the whole concert and sing yourslef hoarse!

  • I definitely does rule, 'cept I picked up the original VHS for a dollar at a used video store. =) lol

This is definitely when they were at their best, the whole show is just beyond epic.

  • i agree monkey the sound at this gig was the bolloks..go on oasisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!

  • Omg, I thought I wrote this, lmfaoo. Then I remembered that I don't have this Dvd. Although I have surround sound, and it works best when Oasis is blasting, it even said so on the box :)

  • these guys are so fucking cool!

  • best version of columbia ever!

    cummon cumon yeAH YEAH YEAHHH

  • come on come on c'mon

    yeah yeah yeah

  • The best there was

    The best there is

The best there will ever be!!!

    MAD FER IT!!

can't wait to see the boys live again! CHEERS

  • i was there,i had the hair,i was 15,why cant he sing anymore.glad to av been a part of it then when it was all about red stripe, coccaine, football, guitars, and thinking you were in the best band in the world.now its tea and slippers.

  • do it better, prick

  • 3:55 is fucking magical :)

  • Columbia is one of the greatest Oasis songs of all time. So cool it's unreal.

  • columbia is what makes Oasis amazing. one of the many things.

  • best band ever.

  • Quote from NME's review of Definitely Maybe back in '94: "...and those fervent, ruthless drums. The butt of many a joke, sure, but deny the brutal effectiveness of one Tony McCarroll at your peril."

That sums it up - 'brutally effective' was what Tony was.

  • Oasis are great here,,, goosebumps

  • Liam is fucking hot here

  • goosebumps on columbia....feckin class

  • they sound so fucking amazing and liam voice is brilliant and the drums this is perfect

  • ello liam

  • Oasis at there best here,Just Raw,Love Liam

    sunSHHHEEIIIIINE!!!!!!!

  • look at that crowd.

    In the words of noel:

"At gigs, well, the English are fucking mental"

  • agreed, imagine if they had Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock when Liam's voice sounded like this!

  • you should be put into a nazi death camp

  • don't get it,you think that new oasis members are better in any way than the original members?

you make no sence at all dude

  • i miss bonehead n guigsy.

  • Not being funny mate and your entitled to your opinion but Oasis now with Andy ,Gem and Chris, well you cant compare it to this,This is the original Oasis with Tony on drums, then Alan joined when they had started recording Morning Glory and the gigs that followed of 95/96 were untouchable, absolute peak then and i was at Earls court, Knebworth, Maine Road and some more recent ones,to me they dont have the appetite now a days, still brilliant though,Just my opinion.Peace.

  • well, I saw their early shows, too. (1994, etc..)

bottom line, we'll have to agree to disagree.

on the bright side, it's great we can even have this conversation. I bet U2 fans wish they could talk about whether or not their band was better now than it was twelve years ago...

  • hmmmmmmmm if LIam can still do the falsettos and still can sing Up in The Sky,Digsy Dinner, etc then it would be heaven

  • Its probably best if they didnt sing digsys dinner haha

  • hahaha

  • wot an intro

  • he doesn't miss a note on any song they played at this gig...fuck me he could sing like a god back then!

  • salforrrrrrrrrrddddd

  • southennnnnnnd

  • The groove on Columbia is killing...

And Liam's "Yeah Yeah Yeah" at 8:27 is chilling to say the least.

  • come on, come on, come on. I saw Oasis in Minneapolis at a theater and the crowd was so reserved and boring, my friend and I snuck right up to 2 rows back from Liam and he just crouched down and stared at us for a while since there wasn't else much to do.

  • so young... liam's amazing

  • mccarol was a good drummer, who worked well for that punk/rock and roll edge oasis needed in the early days..unfortunatley he wasn't good enough to adapt to the songs noel was writing ie morning glory stuff. Also I think the fact they just did'nt like him very much,i know liam could'nt stand him...and I don't think they needed that tension going forward and just made the excuse he was a shit drummer which he was'nt.

  • columnia is a clasic of rock

    what a good song

  • fucking amazing

  • tony mccaroll had more character to his drumming--- he was a vital part of oasis's songs--- like that intro in supersonic is just so simple yet so elegant at the same time

  • Columbia is a fucking classic.

And although Tony McCarroll never gets any credit, he came up with the best beats IMO.......Columbia, Supersonic, Live Forever etc...........

Not the best of drummers, but oh so very creative.

  • I don't know how far Tony is reposnsible for this, but the drumming has never sounded better than on Definitely Maybe. Fair play to him.

  • oasis when they were at there best

  • they need to play smaller venues more often, they sound amazing.

  • this song as really grown on me

"there we weeeeeeeeeeere now here we aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare"

  • 2nd tune columbia gotta be best eva oasis tune my opinion fucking quality

  • great gig!

  • is wondawall on this

  • no i dont think it was even wrote when this gig was done.wonderwall was about meg ryen and noel never met her till later on in their career.

  • oh thanks

it wasnt written for meg tho

  • yeah yeah yeah.... fokin amazing

  • The 'yeah yeah yeah.' =O

Fuckin hell that blew me away

  • i was sooooo excited writing this, i hit the 6instead of the 5. i think it was easter monday 1995. i was at the video shoot in the arvo too. fucking awesome. saw them after this at earls court, wasnt the same. this was the best of times. beautiful.

  • i was there april 1996. oh shit, remember it like it was last night, and the verve as support. my friends and i's ears rang for 3 days afterwards. it was fuckin loud.

  • love columbia, love rock n roll star too, but prefer the familiar to millions version. i genuinely think there are times when liams voice is actually BETTER in recent times. no whine, just fucking rock n roll

  • Good upload!

  • The 1st time i saw oasis! and still the best ever oasis gig i have seen Liam sounds like he should and Noel is to top form

  • Totally agree with the comments about about'Columbia'. This version is brutal; Like being punched in the face by Mike Tyson!Liam is a man possesed.

  • fuckin'great gig in 1995!

    what a fuckin' voice LIAM!

    My first Oasis dvd!

    god bless pimmy!

  • This is the best version of Columbia ever. The 'groove' is perfect.

  • Great great gig...so much energy!

  • esto es lo más grande

    oasis rock and roll starts!

  • great gig!

  • wish liam could still sing like that

  • FUCKIN AMAZIN
