You know what I use to clean carpets. I heat water in microwave to get it steaming hot........pour some distilled white vinegar in and it seems to work great. The vinegar smell goes right away as soon as it dries........and since it's diluted you shouldn't have to rinse it.
I use mine almost daily, 1 dog + 5 cats = spot bot use. It still works great and even better than a upright steam cleaner. Definitely a great buy and must have.
Noise=clean....and oh no 6 minutes of "noise".
Swirl marks are removed after spot dries and is vacuumed over...
I have one of these and just noticed something. The "cleaning" tank on these demo units is perfectly clear. When I add cleaning solution to mine, the water is cloudy. I think they are using plain water for their demo.
@hubbardjg the water looks cloudy for about 10 mins. The machine used on tv will have been standing for a while before they started shooting. If you leave yours standing, the water will go clear too.
I own one of these and found is more of a novelty than practical. When cleaning spots, it leaves a swirl mark. The manual hose is ok to use, but you run out of cleaning water and the collection hopper fills up too fast.

I have one too and love it. I beats cleaning up messes by hand...and swirl marks can be vacuumed away.
