  • I wish this pedal was still in production

  • i must have this pedal

  • Malekko NEEDS to bring this pedal back, the chicklet just doesn't cut it. These reverbs sell for a mint on eBay. Why don't they just put them back into production, and charge more for them?

  • Is this true bypass? Thanks

  • Does this pedal lose any volume when engaged? It sounds incredible! But I've had the worst luck with reverb pedals.

  • what do u think of the danelectro spring reverb?

  • Haha dripping wet reverb tones.... i know exactly what he means lol

  • so, stupid question, what sounds better; the spring chicken, spring reverb emulator, or the actual spring reverb in the amp?

  • @BombshellBill Imo the built in spring reverb. This pedal isnt far behind, but the emulator... meh. Not for me. Sounds too artificial.

  • I want this pedal so bad but can't afford outrageous prices on ebay. Why did they stop making this incredible pedal?

  • What's the song from 3:04?

  • @Alcoholocaustia the walkmen - donde esta la playa (one of the most amazing bands)

  • Kissing the lipless, nice. This demo was extremely helpful. I've been looking for a good spring reverb pedal ever since I fell in love with the spring reverb on an old fender practice amp I had to use over winter break. This pedal gets the closest to the sound in my head. Thanks for the help

  • They should of put the LED on the chickens eye lol

  • They dont sell this anymore :(

  • HOW DOES HE PLAY THAT WALKMEN SONG AT 3:01 best song ever!

  • Nice Lady Writer!

  • why would anyone pay $180 for a reverb??? I mean, its obviously a good one, but wow. I'll suck it up and use my amp reverb lol and spend $180 on a devi ever fuzz. or give it to a haitian who could buy a house

  • @MrBlink41SUM Because people with ears who actually want a certain reverb sound will realise that in general, built in reverb is shit. This can get the most epic reverb sounds, it can even get distant sounding psychedelic led zeppy style reverb, which is a first i've heard on any reverb pedal. Malekko really have pulled it off here.

  • @SwanSongRecords Don't be an asshat. People have ears, they just have different ears. For me, I like my built in reverb nice and fine. It does exactly what I want it to do: add the tiniest hint of spaciousness.

  • @SwanSongRecords Clearly you've never heard a Twin Reverb because the built in reverb is incredible. The funniest thing about your comment is that in this video there is a section where this pedal is supposed to emulate a "shitty" built in reverb tank.

  • @SwanSongRecords What a garbage post. I can't speak on behalf of a lot of amps out there, but I'd rather my reverb built into my twin reverb than any other pedal out there. And don't get me started on the outboard Fender reverb units..

  • How would you guys compare this pedal to EHX Holy Grail?

  • @Alu122112211221 no comparison, this is warm and really emulates spring reverb in a believable way where as the Grail to me sounds cold and sterile and always leaves you wanting more out of the tone. I have owned an EHX grail and am speaking from experience.

  • @oxdpt99 Thanks for the advice. Have you ever heard of the Tech 21 Boost RVB Analog Emulator? if you did, what do you think of it?

  • @Alu122112211221

    Muuuuuch better.

  • 1:38 Led Zeppelin What is and what should never be.

  • Sounds like a short spring pan and not a long one. Other than that, it's the closest approximation i've seen to a real spring verb.. doesn't replace my real springverb, but then again.. my springverb is hard to use live

  • IS THAT THE SHINS??

  • don't hear the shins ever in pedal demos.

  • The only thing is that it sucks tone..

  • damn never heard this pedal till now...sounds freakin awesome...i wish i knew about this pedal so i would of bought it

  • sounds so awesome

  • 2:29 Betterman by Pearl Jam

  • what song is first

  • Lady Writer from Dire Straits...

  • ne body know the song at 2:29? it's on the tip of my tongue, HELP!

  • pear jam, better man.

  • @kebyonatin

    pop/punk!

  • Luv this pedal. Its sounds better than the new version of it. (Chicklet) Everyone has there own taste though..

  • They stopped making the Spring Chicken, and now make the Chicklet. Check their website

  • Comment removed

  • "Lady Writer on the TV...." DS :)

  • When will it get back in stock?

  • never. They made a chicklet though, here its nice.

  • Never I think they stopped making them.

  • at 2:00 - kissing the lipless- shins

  • BETTERMAN

  • woo!

  • nice sound

  • this is probably a stupid question.....but is this analog or digital......yeah, sorry if that is a stupid question...ha ha....thanks!

  • there are no analog reverb pedals - the 'analog' version of reverb is an actual spring unit like you find in an amp.

  • Thanks for the info. Though in theory can someone still make a reverb effect using analog electronics rather than digital electronics or a real spring? I'm not saying it would be worthwhile to do so, I'm just wondering. Thanks!

  • Google "Little Lanilei Reverb Pedal" ;)

  • little lanilei reverbs are biggest waist of money i had two they were good for a month then the next lasted less then a year the guy who makes them told me he would fix mine and he never got back he has both my pedals and my money

  • have a look at van amp reverbamate or solemate for analog spring reverb pedals

  • EHX had an analogue reverb in the 70s. very rare and very bad sounding. one of the old DOD reverbs is also a BBD pedal. digital or real springs are better by miles. especially things like the Chicken.

  • could anyone tell me the name of the song in the into, sounds amazing

  • Sounds like easy lover by Phil Collins

  • Lady Writer - Dire Straits

  • is this pedal still available anywhere?

    thanks!

  • Onm pro guitar shops homesite ;)

  • Yeah just get them straight Malekko's website (They are the makers of this pedal). They cost $150

  • I had previously posted that the reverb is sensitive to overdrive. I take that back. I use it with my Kanji series and it works great even at high levels. However, it needs to be turned way down if you have a vox night train on thick mode. Great Pedal!

  • I would buy one of these if I didn't use the reverb on my 64 Princeton Reverb. This thing is very convincing.

  • I think you can hear it in Andy's playing when he likes a pedal.

  • @Ombrenuit its a feel thing, i can't play my friend's rig at all and he can't play mine

  • summer time ...Chicken

  • i like that at low levels you get that nice spring reverb tones that go well with single coil pickups.

  • Comment removed

  • not when you run it into the FX loop..

  • the night train ain't got no FX loop

  • buckethead loves this

  • Really nice pedal, would love to have one of those!

  • what is the name of the first tune?

  • not sure but the second is kissing the lipless by the shins

  • lady writer, Dire Straights

  • i love chickens

  • lady writer on the TV

  • so this pedal is sort of like a ugly red headed step child that grows up to be Rorschach. wat it does it does considerably well but either its good or bad is totally up your style

  • Where can I find this expression pedal? What is it?

  • In effectsloop or Guitar>effect>amp?

  • both would sound good. for convience i would just run it with my other pedals not in an effects loop.

  • This pedal sounds good, but it's so ugly. =(

  • Who cares? A sovtek big muff is ugly as shit but sounds beautiful.

  • why do you care if it's ugly? poser -.-

  • why do you care if he cares? super poser!!!

  • Better Man

  • way better then holy grail

    more natural and warm sound

  • what was the name of the song at the start

  • Lady Writer - Dire Straits

  • dammit i should've gotten this instead of the holy grail :/ how much does this baby cost anyway?

  • $150

  • Just got mine, Great pedal. If your looking for a reverb pedal that sounds as good if not better than the real thing, this is your pedal. Can't say enough on how impressed i am every time i turn it on.

  • what song is he playing at "3:45-4:06," anyone know?

  • would say natural mystic by marley

  • sounds really good and what was the song before he gave the intro?

  • Dire Straits - Lady Writer

  • such a great song

  • How is he a poser? I agree with him and I've been playing for 3 years. Who would want a chicken on a pedal? *vomits*

    P0S3RS!!!!!!!1111

  • THE SHINS

  • I just got this to add some reverb to my 'verbless Traynor YBA-1. It's definitely Grade A spring reverb in a box and you can get most of what you'll ever realistically use between 7 and 11. Be warned: anywhere past noon gives you nasty hiss that makes it unusable (at least for me). But if you're venturing that far into reverbland you probably don't care too much about excess noise anyway.

  • awesome! the shins.

  • Kissing the lipless is my favorite shins song!!!!

Nice one andy for playing it!

  • This is seriously the only reverb pedal I would buy! Great demo Andy! I'm still deciding if I am going to need it though - I'm stuck between buying a cheap tube and using the high end boutique pedals for my sounds (So it's interchangable) or if I just want a straight up Mesa.. any suggestions?

  • get the mesa. junk tube amps are going to make you sad.

  • what are your favourite 5 bands? find out what they use ampwise and try out each of them and decide which one you like the most. I would always suggest you get the right amp before you build up your pedalboard.

  • Quick question... How does this pedal compare to the EHX Holy Grail on the Spring setting?

    thanks.

  • better, i have a friend who might build me a clone in the near future :)

  • is it true bypass?

  • Best reverb pedal on the market.

  • What was the first song he was playing?

  • Lady Writer by Dire Striats

    Everyones been asking that lol

  • i love this song

  • betterman sounded exact

  • no 65 amps soho?

  • hahaha i know right. this guys is badass though

  • they had a poll ages ago to choose a new amp, it seems the deluxe reverb won!

i voted for the AC30... haha

  • The Walkmen?

  • lol buckethead should sign this :D

  • hahahahha

  • lol, definitely :)

  • great chord progression what song was that at the start? Thanks peoples.

  • Lady Writer by Dire Striats

  • This is a really good reverb pedal.

  • love this walkmen song!

  • Nice to hear some Pearl Jam

  • what time?

  • never mind, it got to it! BETTERMAN!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised that no one said anything about the Shins song.

  • I did

  • Now here's a useful pedal, something you can actually take out on the road and play. I dig the artwork as well, very hip.

  • what's the first thing you play?

  • sounds like lady writter by dire strights

  • Did I hear some Alice in Chains in there? or was I mistaken?

    good demo, man.

  • Question: is the expression pedal controlling the cluck amount or a separate "effect amount"?

  • The Expression controls the Cluck amount.

  • Love the Lady Writer by Dire Straits on the intro! Good sounding pedal too.

  • the best reverb pedal Ive heard wow great demo andy

  • Great, great pedal! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. The guys at Malekko come up with some cool effects.

Sorry for the lame question, but is the reverb produced digitally (and the sound converted from analog to digital) or not? I'm assuming digital, since they don't insist on what's inside, but apparently Lee Jackson's "Mr Springgy" is completely analog without using springs either, so I don't know.

  • wow, I want one now!!!!

  • sounds class

  • yeah yeah yeah! rockabilly sound!

  • Andy, what kind of cables do you use for all your demos?

  • They are by Core One, very beefy cables. We carry them too

  • CLUCK!!!!! hahahaha, awesome

  • Sounds amazing...reasonably priced...if I ever need a reverb pedal I'll look at this first!

  • me to!

  • Wow that reverb sounds so natural.

  • I love the "Lady Writer" chords in the beginning.

  • its nice to see another malekko effect

  • Awesome sounding reverb pedal! I'm probably gonna have to buy one of these. Thanks for the great demo. Hope you've got these in stock! ; )

  • I knew this guy had good taste.

Just the little bit of betterman made my mind 'bout this product.

    Reverbilicious

    heheheheh

  • Holy crap, that thing sounds great. WANT.

  • I love how it preserves the dry signal really well throughout the entire range of the Cluck knob. Sounds awesome!

  • this thing owns my old Holy Grail
