Malekko NEEDS to bring this pedal back, the chicklet just doesn't cut it. These reverbs sell for a mint on eBay. Why don't they just put them back into production, and charge more for them?
Kissing the lipless, nice. This demo was extremely helpful. I've been looking for a good spring reverb pedal ever since I fell in love with the spring reverb on an old fender practice amp I had to use over winter break. This pedal gets the closest to the sound in my head. Thanks for the help
why would anyone pay $180 for a reverb??? I mean, its obviously a good one, but wow. I'll suck it up and use my amp reverb lol and spend $180 on a devi ever fuzz. or give it to a haitian who could buy a house
@MrBlink41SUM Because people with ears who actually want a certain reverb sound will realise that in general, built in reverb is shit. This can get the most epic reverb sounds, it can even get distant sounding psychedelic led zeppy style reverb, which is a first i've heard on any reverb pedal. Malekko really have pulled it off here.
@SwanSongRecords Don't be an asshat. People have ears, they just have different ears. For me, I like my built in reverb nice and fine. It does exactly what I want it to do: add the tiniest hint of spaciousness.
@SwanSongRecords Clearly you've never heard a Twin Reverb because the built in reverb is incredible. The funniest thing about your comment is that in this video there is a section where this pedal is supposed to emulate a "shitty" built in reverb tank.
@SwanSongRecords What a garbage post. I can't speak on behalf of a lot of amps out there, but I'd rather my reverb built into my twin reverb than any other pedal out there. And don't get me started on the outboard Fender reverb units..
@Alu122112211221 no comparison, this is warm and really emulates spring reverb in a believable way where as the Grail to me sounds cold and sterile and always leaves you wanting more out of the tone. I have owned an EHX grail and am speaking from experience.
Sounds like a short spring pan and not a long one. Other than that, it's the closest approximation i've seen to a real spring verb.. doesn't replace my real springverb, but then again.. my springverb is hard to use live
Thanks for the info. Though in theory can someone still make a reverb effect using analog electronics rather than digital electronics or a real spring? I'm not saying it would be worthwhile to do so, I'm just wondering. Thanks!
little lanilei reverbs are biggest waist of money i had two they were good for a month then the next lasted less then a year the guy who makes them told me he would fix mine and he never got back he has both my pedals and my money
EHX had an analogue reverb in the 70s. very rare and very bad sounding. one of the old DOD reverbs is also a BBD pedal. digital or real springs are better by miles. especially things like the Chicken.
I had previously posted that the reverb is sensitive to overdrive. I take that back. I use it with my Kanji series and it works great even at high levels. However, it needs to be turned way down if you have a vox night train on thick mode. Great Pedal!
so this pedal is sort of like a ugly red headed step child that grows up to be Rorschach. wat it does it does considerably well but either its good or bad is totally up your style
Just got mine, Great pedal. If your looking for a reverb pedal that sounds as good if not better than the real thing, this is your pedal. Can't say enough on how impressed i am every time i turn it on.
I just got this to add some reverb to my 'verbless Traynor YBA-1. It's definitely Grade A spring reverb in a box and you can get most of what you'll ever realistically use between 7 and 11. Be warned: anywhere past noon gives you nasty hiss that makes it unusable (at least for me). But if you're venturing that far into reverbland you probably don't care too much about excess noise anyway.
This is seriously the only reverb pedal I would buy! Great demo Andy! I'm still deciding if I am going to need it though - I'm stuck between buying a cheap tube and using the high end boutique pedals for my sounds (So it's interchangable) or if I just want a straight up Mesa.. any suggestions?
what are your favourite 5 bands? find out what they use ampwise and try out each of them and decide which one you like the most. I would always suggest you get the right amp before you build up your pedalboard.
Great, great pedal! Thanks for bringing it to our attention. The guys at Malekko come up with some cool effects.
Sorry for the lame question, but is the reverb produced digitally (and the sound converted from analog to digital) or not? I'm assuming digital, since they don't insist on what's inside, but apparently Lee Jackson's "Mr Springgy" is completely analog without using springs either, so I don't know.
