when ever i crochet with cotton/thread my work is always flimsy and does not hold its shape. Do you know any ways of stiffening the work eg your snowflakes
Hi Teresa. I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your videos. I just started crocheting this year and have really improved thanks to your tutorials. You should see all the yarn I've bought in anticipation of your new projects! I wish you and your family a peaceful and happy Christmas and a new year filled with as much joy as you have brought to everyone like me through your tutorials. Beannachtaí na Nollag from Ireland! Really pretty. This year my family and I will be having a bush christmas, we are heading off to camp on my great aunt and uncles property and have just brought a 6ft christmas tree, but have no decorations, so we are planning to crochet some of our own. We thought home made deco's would really dress the tree up. This is the first year we have had no decorations ready for the tree. The snowflakes would look really pretty. Thanks for posting, we will take a photo of the decorated tree to show you
Yes, I prefer the thread with snowflakes. On occasion, I use the yarn for the video's since it is larger and easier to see. A lot of projects can be done in thread and yarn.
Once again Teresa, you have done it!!! I am making all crocheted ornaments for me tree this year and this will look great along with the other snowflakes!!!! Great job!!!!!!

You can use size 20 keeping in mind that it will be much smaller.

how thick is the thread?

It is a size 10 thread, probably 1/3 the size of a strand of yarn.

Are you just using thread or is it some special kind of yarn?

This is crochet cotton also called thread, but not to be confused with sewing thread since there is a big difference.

All you will need to do is slip stitch the very center point of snowflake A to snowflake B. That would be the second chain 4.
