Muse are currently preparing for their headline slot at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August, where they will play their 2001album 'Origin of Symmetry' in its entirety, but the group admit it isn't sounding as good as they hoped in rehearsals.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme told Q magazine: "It's alright. We ran through 'Hyper Music' for the first time in seven years. It sounded like a school band cover of 'Hyper Music' to be honest."

Muse didn't want to be in it so they got them to pay them a shitload of money to make the song. As if you're gonna pass up a million bucks for one song. The Resistance was a bit of a let down but they're still epic!

I thought the musical direction they took was great, and many of the songs were great too; but otherwise it wasn't like their first two. But yeah, we all have different opinions, and The Resistance was a big disappointment for me. Although the songs are pretty good, they don't have that prog-rock coolness like Citizen Erased or Hyper Music. There are no riffs either, have you noticed? Boring guitar playing.

I think Matt is certainly getting the credit he deserves, and wants. Muse are known to purposely shield their music from the mainstream market, to ensure that they don't become just 'some band' but instead are just something special for the people who *really* appreciate music. And I think that's a really clever thing for them to do. :)

Origin was one of those albums, first listen, phah, this is no where near as good as Absolution, Get hooked on Plug-In Baby, listen to the rest of the album and fucking love it. Screenager is the only disappointing song on the album. Matt isn't "Good" he's a fucking musical genius which the world hasn't really accepted yet, his talents go further than his voice and his guitar.
