  • Sydney Briar is dead and this movie sucks.

  • I have to admit it. I'm racist against the zombie race. Why are they always trying to eat my brain? It's very annoying. I USE that thing every once in a while.

And don't give me that load of crap that 'Most zombies are peaceful law abiding citizens." BS. They ALL want to eat my brain.

  • Is this any good?

  • @thuganomics84 No, that's why the top comment is "this film is brilliant".

  • @LCxCZ Just cause he/she likes it, don't mean its good. I'm sure there r people that like Wrong Turn 3, but just cause 1 person says its the greatest film ever made, doesn't mean its the greatest film ever made. I've got a dog

  • @thuganomics84 You've got a dog.

  • @thuganomics84 Friggin Awesome!

  • I wonder what would've happened if they'd tried tongue-twisters. :D

  • @sgtkanegunlock u suck ballz

  • Sgtkanegunlock

  • no asshole its just that this movie blows.i have more taste in my penis

  • Canadians have a rough life, stupid linguistic outbreaks.

  • One of my favourites. It has a certain B-movie feel to it, but at the same time it manages to make you think and guess. They were able to create a believable scenario with only a few characters and a very small setting. And McHattie is just cool as hell.

  • Sidney Briar is alive.

  • @MattakuNoKoohai But Mr.Mazzy is missing...missing....missing...I mean, Mr.Mazzy is missing....missing....

I'm sorry, but what I meant to say was....do you have a sample?

  • @PoisonYoshi Kill is kiss.

  • that movie was shit

  • This movie sucked balls boring as hell shitty script

  • @Reseimandi ...than you have must have the brain capacity of a termite

  • I watched this last night - enjoyed it. They did it well considering the low budget

  • Sidney Briar is alive.

  • Wooow the film is xtra!!!!!!

  • umm, interesting

  • it didnt suck and it wasnt brilliant, that said if you have a good or even a medium good imagination, then this is the movie for you, theres no violence, gore, cannibalism, zombies, etc, just a well thought out plot that will have you imagining (and wishing you could see) crazy events, if you have no imagination and constant need for the director to show you everything (decepticon balls) then youll hate this movie, I didnt "love" it but it was good and it got a bit creepy in some parts.

  • This film was brilliant!!

  • THIS MOVIE SUCK BIG TIME !!!

    DONT WATCH IT

  • @CrazyAzdaja its because you only like movies where you don't have to use your brain, you don't have one !

  • @HyPnOTiZeR89 i completely understood this movie u on the other hand, seem to be retarded since u liked this lame shit

  • @CrazyAzdaja go watch some cartoons because thats the only thing you will understand

  • @HyPnOTiZeR89 and u go fuck ur self

  • thumbs up if you're from ontario!

  • this film is brilliant..

  • there are no zombies in it

  • Showing on the horror channell tonight, I haven't got high hopes for it, But I liked a film similar based on a small radio station involved in a virus outbreak, Which was pretty good, I'm usually into the more blood and guts type of zombie film, But I'm willing to give this one a chance.

  • Total retard movie

  • The film is shit, I watched it. Don't waste your time.

  • not sure if i want to see this, the characters kinda remind me of the characters from dawn of the dead(the 2004 remake) i mean, you have a cowboy, redneckish withe guy(just like andy the gunstore owner from d.o.t.d) and he is talking on a radio(like in d.o.t.d) to a guy named ken(ving rhames character in d.o.t.d) hmmmm................ o.O i mean sure so far this is the only thing that i can see from the trailer but c'mon

  • A disturbing psychological satire with zombies... so much win. I must admit that it's an aquired taste.

  • i watched this movie cuz hes got a cool voice

  • I liked the whole concept of this movie but something just doesn't click in my mind..

I can't seem to understand why 'the infected' people would repeat whatever another 'sane' person would say ?..

  • So,this has become on of "those" movies? One of those "If you don't like it,you ain't smart" movies?

  • This movie was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G i luved it :D but..when you try to explain it.....it kinda sounds stupid :P

  • @cokaneds check out Martyrs. That movie is just brutal and horrible just pure horror.

  • @Fernova10 I shall, that's on my list of horror movies yet to see. Thanks.

  • To what I said previously, from looking at all these comments it looks like most people wouldn't agree with me on that. But seriously... people being infected by the english language? Come on ... it barely makes sense since it never explained where the bug came from or how it originated or anything, it just happened.

  • @cokaneds I guess that's the whole point of the movie now aint it

What makes a good "zombie" film is when you don't know the cause of it.

  • OMG I just watched this movie and it was boring as shit. I've been looking for good horror movies and I stumbled upon this list of top 25 horror movies of 2009 on some site which I can't mention since it won't post??

So far I've watched 3 that I haven't seen already: "The Human Centipede", "The Loved Ones" and just now "Pontypool". They were all crap unfortunately, and I still can't understand why Pontypool was rated #1 on the site since I even understood the movie but it was still shit...

  • This is a glorious movie!

  • People

  • My personal opinion is the following one : an amazing idea and stroy, that could be a kult movie... but it's totally ruined by the rubbishy acting..

  • @ColdSpring1984 are you high? There was ONE MOMENT of awkward acting clearly due to the directing. The rest was great, clever, and Stephen McHattie is a god. Done.

  • @AutumnsPillar just a question what was the "one moment"? not trying to argue just trying to pick your brain. :)

  • @mafouger When Grant tries to leave and they're in the staircase. "You! You are ****ing with me! and YOU!, DON'T YOU **** WITH ME!" Then the whole looking out the door thing if I want to be critical.

To be honest... it kind of starts the scene before when he hears people speaking to him. I've replayed that part so many times and cant figure it out.

I'm guessing it was the direction, because I've seen Stephen McHattie in a TON of stuff. Either way it's all interesting.

  • Penny Dreadful. Maybe that was the point of the film, though I do kinda feel they were driving the point at you too much but not as much as Diary Of The Dead which found too contrived and fake. =/

  • Started off terrifying, ended up being rather pretentious and silly. There was a message about the media in there somewhere, but it was totally mishandled. It's a shame, because I was rather intrigued by the idea. Things just got all muddled and nonsensical somewhere. It did, however, make me want to go out and read the book to see if that dealt with the subject matter any better.

  • Are there any zombies in this movie?

  • @DunderMifflinInf Kind of. Less zombie/more bloodthirsty metaphors.

  • putra imitaçao do outro filme chamado dead air

  • so was this trailer all about putting you off the movie

  • It's not about zombies. It's about the politics of language.

  • @sweiland75 it focuses more on the characters than the action basically

  • @sweiland75 Im pretty sure its a zombie film, but they use the genre to get a message across about media and language... We're all zombies when it comes to media

  • ive seen this but im sure it wasnt called Pontypool HHmmm odd!

  • @mrshef666 Its the name of the town.

  • Im glad I came across this, Im so bored of all the horror films these days as they seem to think 'blood blood graphics big budget' This film showed hardly anything and was scary for it.The simple calls from the 'sunshine chopper' were 100% scarier than any alien/ maniac running around killing people.

  • Movies like this need more recognition.

  • Georgina Reilly is a great actress... and a hot one to. The new Alba?

Great film. Really freaked me out. One strange thing in the movie though is that african family lol. That doctor came with his family to the place and then he comes threw the window like a completely stranger. Then he is leaving his children to die with the zombies and locking himself into a rom hahah

  • @5ector The Doctor was a different person, he first appeared when he came through the window (it was his office the mob was originally reported to be around). The guy at the beginning was someone else.

  • so good, just got the DVD

  • @sweiland75 I fucked your mom, why dont you go and take that seriously too lmfao

  • @TastyGenitals Well I would assume that by the name of "tastygenitals" that there was no fucking of woman of any kind. Rather cum guzzling an obese, hairy and sweaty man's cock refusing to be paid for it due to the undeniable evidence set here that you indeed take pleasure in being choked on massive cock. You should probably do some more self-reflection before you make immature, and laughably pathetic comments on things that have no basis whatsoever. Now go taste some more balls.

  • @Qh31 Try harder, please. I love the effort you have put in, in trying to make me feel bad which had failed miserably... so try again haha. I want to see what you have to say next. Oh oh and make it REALLY long so you waste more time..

  • @sweiland75 Lol you people are fucking retarded, taking everything literally. You think I go around telling people to call me TastyGenitals? (Your mom does it at her own free will by the way) Obviously this name is for jokes dumb fuck. And spelling fail?? Fucking retard.

  • @sweiland75 Sorry... what ever the fuck your name is douche bag. Just because I have my own taste in movies, fucking faggot.

  • I just finished this movie... and I thought this movie was boring as shit... thats just what i thought about it.

  • This movie was so good. I can't stop thinking about it. Stephen McHattie was born to play this part and no wonder the chemistry was so good between him and the actress who plays Sydney Brier... they are married in real life. Great new spin on the Zombie genre. One of my top ten favorite films.

  • this reminds me of The Mist. That movie was more about the destructive nature of fear and less about the monsters in the mist. Makes it a social commentary and so much deeper than your everyday slasher.

  • i loved this movie

  • I honestly loved this movie, it was more of a thinking movie then a Gorey movie where you keep watching none stop for. I loved it thought it was very creative, political and unique. It had a very deep meaning and i believed that was the point.

  • Fantastic movie. Excellent new approach of the Myth and wow, more like this please !!

  • this movie is Really bad!

  • this looks like dead air but a higher budget

  • "i dont want to watch a movie where you dont watch nothing cause you have to imagine everything...(whats the point on that?)" WOW

  • It certainly is an acquired taste. But I suggest renting it on DVD. It is very clever and despite what you believe, there are zombies.

  • @KimblesNimble lol that was terrible england

  • this movie was to boring, was a movie were nothing happends till the end,if i rent a movie is cause i want to watch a movie, i dont want to watch a movie where you dont watch nothing cause you have to imagine everything...(whats the point on that?) watch and imagination are 2 difrent things, to watch you use your eyes and to imagine you use your mind (EYES AND MIND)two difrent things you got it? when the movie ended i felt like if i just watched a episode of barney teh stupid purple dinosaur

  • @kratos3821

"Imagination? Fuck that! I want everything laid out in front of me so I never have to think about anything!".

    I don't like you.

  • @ogloosh that was my point bro! i think you got it all wrong,i dont want to go to the movies and start imagine what the fuck is going on in a movie, you paid 20 fucking bucks around here , so i dont want to spend my money thinking or imagine a movie i want to watch it.!, so for me this movie is a lazy attempt to try to be creative but for me this attempt say they are fucking lazy to developed a good script ....

  • @kratos3821

It had a good script though..you're just stupid. Not because you didn't like the movie but because of WHY you didn't like the movie. Something doesn't need a shitload of explosions to be good

  • @ogloosh who was talking about explosions asshole?,i was saying that what i didn't like about the movie is that you have to imagine the whole fucking thing, they just gives you hints of what happends and the rest you have to imagine it like if you are reading a fucking book(thats my point),and by the way i already red the book in wich pontypool is based and it kicked ass but because is a book....

  • @ogloosh if you still don get my point!,let me explained easyly for you,is like if your going to the theater to watch a godzilla movie but instead of watching the monster and the human struggle to kill the monster, they just give flashnews of what is happening and you have to imagine how the monter is and how the monster is destroying the city........ now do you get it?

  • @kratos3821 That wasn't even the fucking point of the movie. This movie was designed to play with our minds. If you're too stupid to handle that, then maybe you should go back to preschool where everything is done for you.

  • @raptriforcee you are the one that needs to go back to preschool to play with your barney asshole,i never said that the movie is bad

what im saying is that the movie is boring, cause is kind of hard to watch a guy sitted in a radio cabin for a almost 80 minutes, thas my complaint,

  • @raptriforcee have you ever watched a movie called cloverfield?,that movie is more character development that anything else, but to not bored the audience they use little secuences of action inbetween the drama,in that way you not only heard about what is going on you have a little hint of what's going on in a graphic way.

  • @raptriforcee now you understan what im trying to say?,i think that a little scenes now and then showing you what is happening outside won't hurt the movie, in that way you will see something diffrent than a guy sitting on his ass almost the whole movie......no hard feelings bro......ok

  • @kratos3821 I so regret wasting my time on you. You're a fucking idiot. Good luck with life.

  • @raptriforcee no hard on baby,so........dont worry....

  • @kratos3821 lol You sure do amuse me so. I still like this movie. It makes you think.

  • @raptriforcee i like the movie too,but i think it doesn't kill the movie if they us a little more gore...........ok baby

  • @raptriforcee dont worry baby!,i like the movie too, but for me to be a great movie it needs a little more scenes outside the radio station, the movie was too short,at the end after the credits they showed you that they were the virus, that they were infecting the people....that was like wtf? for me...........

  • @raptriforcee don't worry baby, hey ! after the credits what they wants you to understand with that scene?what it means?,that they were the virus?,that they were infecting the people since the beggining?..........

  • the language idea came from a short story written in the 80's.....its more of a mind film then a visual gore fest...if its gore you want then wrong film....its good as its scary without being all blood and guts.

  • @ady24 Would you happen to know the name of the short story and the author who wrote it?

  • @ady24 the language idea came from 1934, when a radio guy played the same thing, telling the people that a virus is spreading, and they actualkly believed it....please, that story might be familiar to this 1 , but the idea didnt came from it, please dont talk shit till u dik where it is from...

  • @ady24 the scene where ken is holding the phone to the big teenager and he lets out that creepy wine that sounds like a baby. man that freaked me out, which is VERY hard to do!

  • @WeekendCranks I KNOW! That baby thing was freaky as hell.

  • Less about Zombies, more about how the public is affected by the media. of how the media report news and influence us, by repeating and repeating until the public repeat it, how the media build moral panics, and how the power of language and ideas can spread like a virus. That mass media spreads its message like a virus, focuses on the bloody and violent, controls and manipulates us creating mass hysteria, brainwashing us until we repeat what they say without having original thought

  • @adedog

That's not really how media works, good try though.

  • @adedog

Very well said. The next time I try to explain this movie to someone, I may copy-paste ;-)

  • @adedog That is the greatest explanation of what is really going on that I've ever heard in my entire life. I mean of course, what is going on in THIS plane of existence. By that I mean pathetic, and useless things such as economy, and fashion, and all of the other countless loads of bullshit. All of this garbage worthless information is what keeps everyone blind to what is truly around them. People need to learn to "stop" the world once in a while.

  • @adedog true man. the media brainwashes all of us,the media is the reason for wars and enemies.fuck the media.

  • @Juggyclownin I agree that the media brainwashes certain people, but that its the reason for wars? ... sorry broh, wars have been apart our history much longer then CNN has.

Truth is, if world peace is ever going to happend then media would be one of the major reasons for that to happend. the main reason we managed to evolve from savage animals living in caves is because of a gen-mutation that made us capable of communicating with eachother, worldwide-media was the next step within that chapter

  • @Nickey90 i dont mean the media is the exact reason for wars,i mean that the media has a big part in creating drama causing other countries to get pissed off.

  • @adedog WHOA! I never look at it like that!!! Awesome.

  • @adedog Nice.

  • They should make zombie movies with more originality. *zombie movie comes out with new, original setup* UGH THEY PULLED THIS OUT OF THEIR BUTT HOW STUPID HOW DUMB I AM LITERALLY A CHILD BOOHOO

  • I thought the lagnuage virus idea worked well. This was one of the best and most creative horror movies i have ever seen.

  • DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILER!

I going to assume that rigomrtsfx was disappointed with the lack of zombies being presented in the film. Most of the flick was a build up to 5% of zombie footage. Not only that, the zombies were supposedly infected with a language virus, an idea that sprung out of someone's @ss at the last minute and didn't make all that much sense when it did. Check the movie out for yourself anyway; I know people who enjoyed it a lot. It was okay but not above average.

  • Gotta agree with your view on the language virus thing, they tried to be original i guess. A shame really cause other than that the movie was pretty damn good.

  • It was very intriguing until the last predictable 10 mins of the film.

  • its cool in pontypool

  • let me assure you life ain't that exciting here

  • movie looks creepy and cool and a little bit wack
