It is a double standard and hypocritical to say that "coming out" as a gay or lesbian is finding "who you are," but living several years as a gay or lesbian only to come to find that you're straight is "denying who you are."
I recall when I changed the color of my eyes from predominantly blue to predominately not blue. The part that wasn't predominant was still blue, but, it wasn't predominant. It was just blue.
