  • This honestly made me cry. And i don't think i've ever cried watching a youtube videos before. Ever. I take alot of things for granted at times but there are children who have done nothing wrong or hateful that have to go threw things like this all the time. I hope he is doing great today. I'm praying for him. Let him know that there are strangers who are cheering for him!! He is alot stronger then i ever could be. I don't think i could of handled that at his age. Goodluck and God bless :)

  • @YuSuckAtLife it is very sad my fiance had a bone marrow transplant

  • OMG POOR BABY!

  • I have had some personal experience with nasal gastric tubes and from ex

  • he had his right to be angry i just want to hug him xxx

  • why don't they put him to sleep that would of helped him relax more bless him i don't believe he was treated right xx

  • @lonsdale324 as mean as it sounds, they have to be awake to make it easier for the tube to go down and unfortunately it means they have to be held down too,i went through this with my daughter a year ago.

  • making me so angry watching this

  • @lonsdale324 why watch it then if it makes you angry,it's not maltreatment, the child has to be held down so he/she doesnt yank out the tube.

  • awwww poor thing

  • thats so fking mean

  • poor thing. I guess u do what ever it takes

  • Omg @ djirox666 what kind? I hope that you'll be ok! Best wishes from us :-)

  • i have just been diagnosed with cancer. I'm only 23. and I'm so upset

  • @djrox666 I'm sorry to hear that. Is it the beggining stages? Hope your ok.

  • @UtubeDuDeDuh thank you for your concern yes it is the early stages and they say i should beat it

  • @djrox666 awww so sorry sweetie hope things work out for you xxx

  • NG tubes are a common procedure used on newborns. I had a NG tube placed as a newborn, as my Mom was still deciding on the choice to either breastfeed or bottlefeed. My term 1st born girl was given all feeds by formula & expressed breast milk in bottles, at 5 days old, a midwife had NNU staff place an NG tube in her, to get her to breast feed, after she had been used to being bottle fed formula & expressed breast milk, When I saw the NG tube, I asked NNU staff to remove the NG tube & they did.

  • They Should have sedated Austin when the feeding tube was placed .Theirs no need to traumatize kids anymore than doctors have to in order to help their patients .The nurses could have given Austin a couple sips of water to help pass the tube down his throat easier , thats how your suppose to place nasal gastric tube . I am soo sorry Austin had to o through all these troubles .

  • @TheBne123456 depending on the age,he was probably too young to drink water for the tube to go down.mean as it sounds, the nurses done it correctly.he looks to be a toddler,it's normally the older children who are made to drink water.Unless you have had a child tube fed.most of the time, they dont have time to sedate the kids it takes up too much time.maybe you should educate yourself on tubefeeding.

  • Man this is awful!!! I really pray that they find a cure for cancer it took my grandpa out of this world!! I miss him very much but to see a child have to go through this is just terrible I was shaking while watching this it made my nose hurt ,cancer of all types are taking away to many people & harming to many children God please help these doctors to find a cure for this terrible illness soon!!

  • it breaks my heart to watch, brought tears to my eyes , i had the ng tube it hurt why would a child have to suffer like this for , if god was real why would he let him suffer so much

  • was he sedated?

  • Austin has been in remission since December of 2008 and is doing amazing! There has been no sign of the cancer returning and we thank God for this miracle! We thank you for all your prayers and well wishes! This video shows but a short difficult moment in a life filled with laughter and happiness. • I have been through this with my son James. Except it went down to his small intestine. It is heart breaking to see this and for the little one to go through but believe me it is better for all. • why couldn't they have just done it surically?

  • @JeremyPassarelli unless its into the stomach they can't for something that goes in thru the nose.surgically it would be more painful and once it's in all the troubles of having it inserted are well and truly over.it takes about 10 mins to insert and then to check placement

  • i was right there with you crying my heart out for you buddy. I normaly find it difficult to cry cause of my autisim but that got to me so much i thankyou. I havent cryed in 8 years. Get well soon

  • Aww I couldnt help it I cried so hard with you Buddy, You are such a brave little boy the same age as my oldest daughter who will be 4 in June.

I dont know what I would do if my daughter every got realy sick like this, She does have a little friend that is realy sick with cancer who is 3 years old. he has a wilms tumor that has spread to his lungs, they dont give him much hope of survival. Please keep him in prayer, his name is Cody

  • hey austin my little buddy i am going through chemotherapy i am going through a rough battle with ALL

  • @09BiggB - Search here on youtube or on google for "Rick Simpson". He cured himself and others from cancer by cannabis-oil.

  • @09BiggB hope things are going ok....

  • poor little baby! no child deserves to go through anything like this! He should be outside playing! Keep fighting Austin! May God heal you!

  • hearing him cry like that when the tube gets inserted breaks my heart :(

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah same. I remember when I had to have one of those. I was 4 and had luekemia like him. I am better now and I hope he does too. :) xx

  • God I remember when I had to have one of those. I was 8 and had a rare childhood cancer. I was absolutly terrified. And the stupid nurses tried to get it up the side my tumour was but couldnt because the tubes were too narrow, so they done the other side. I only had it in a week and I just couldnt stand it so I had a gastrostomy button put in.

  • And to think a midwife got a NG tube put in my 5 day old infant who was a healthy demanding bottle feeder, all because she never took to breastfeeding, she was supposed to be upstairs to be discharged for home, she had normal test results, midwife brought my daughter back down to the NNU as she was angry at us for having her upstairs,, she screamed and thrashed so much at a new iv insertion for a further pumping, of iv antibiotics that she almost ended up with a scalp iv., Got thigh injections.

  • this is sooo sweet. I included it in a video I made for childhood cancer awareness for my class if thats ok. I am soo glad he is in mollecular remission as of now. I have AML right now for the 4th time so knowing tht he can make it lets me know that I can too!

  • So distressful! I hope and pray little Austin makes a full recovery soon.

Whoever was filming this.... PLEASE put the camera down and comfort the child who is clearly in need of a BIIG hug after going through that =(

Best of luck with everything, Im sure he is a little fighter !!

  • so emotional, may i'm a student studying this and was wondering why he hadn't eaten for 16 days following the chemo treatment...?

  • im honestly crying.

i cannot finish it. I stoped it at 2:08!

    he is so brave!

    stay stong Austin

  • what a strong little boy, may god bless him.

i myself have leukemia, and will be soon getting a feeding tube.

  • Hi Austin and family. I am having treatment and need NG tubes as well. I know how uncomfortable they are to have put in. He probably isn't old enough to do this, but a little tip that works really well for me is if you drink water through a straw while they push the tube down. I find it's so much more comfortable and doesn't hurt that way. Hope you get better.

  • this made me cry SOOO HARD!
