  • Double Dare lol. I remember watching that after school.

  • Can anyone explain why there was a translator in Alpha (west of Emerald on the Capricorn Hwy) that come aggregation, did not continue and instead ended up being part of the remote NE Aus licence area?

  • what is that RTQ7 jingle?

  • I know it was common to have a reflections before close down but was it also common to have a Lifeline ad before closeing down? The NRTV close down I use to have had that as well

  • Yeah, DDQ were probably the stronger partner. Most of the shows advertised seem to be Network Ten programs.

The whole thing is weird, though.

  • Furthermore, I have just seen video evidence of Vision TV existing. This, I suspect, would only have been in the DDQ area.

  • Vision TV did exist, I was up in Toowoomba in 1989 and saw it with my own pre-school eyes!

  • Agree with that statement too. And DDQ had Westfield to thank (for buying TVQ in Brisbane). Literally overnight they became the strongest operator in southern Queensland (because of the cash from the TVQ sale). The hunted suddenly became the hunter.

  • I thought RTQ (or Star Television as it was) was not taken over by WIN until 3 days before aggregation. This is why QTV looked like it did for most of 1990.

I have seen sales literature promoting the "Vision TV" service as one, but you're probably right about the on-air connection not being established until Star Television.

  • The "Double Dare" program seen in Australia was based on the famous Nickelodeon series from the 80's.

  • Great clip, not much seen of RTQ7 in the 80s.Thanks for sharing this
