How long have you had the BCR? Has it given you any major headaches yet? I'm kind of thinking of getting one; at the same time, I'm a little iffy about Behringer stuff (personally, they seem kind of flimsy & crappy...)
@mouthbreather1 i only use the BCR from the Behringer Family, i thought the same like u. but since i saw that Daft Punk used it in their Live sets i thought its worth to try it out. it never disappointed, its very good !
google images "Daft Punk BCR2000" > u will see their pyramid setup with 2 BCRs.
Besides i trust Future Music Magazine and it was for years in their Top Ten List of Midi Controllers
@pillefreeride its all about learning how Ableton works, the performance is only exercise... learning ableton might take u a month, there are very good tutorials around, the rest will be only exercise...
I can see you put a lot of effort into it (I like the video too btw) but I feel the tracklist relies too much on vocal samples of hits like galvanize/technologic/etc (wich is not bad at all if you play them at the right moment) instead of solid mashing/mixing.
keep it up, cheers!
Ps:. although this is just a ten minutes video it would be nice to hear more changes on the bassline for shure.
i cant help but notice that all these people doing "controllerism" seem to primarily work with loops from techno songs daft punk and vocals of pop/hip hop songs, and have a dance beat and not too much else going on seems like this is very limited, and all the effects just sound like deadmau5 wannabe effects anyways
@bobbyolson1 Practice makes perfect, and none of these youtube users claim to be masters at their craft. Controllerism is still a "young" form of dj'ing and still the surfaced has only been scraped :)
@NoFukMusic lol wtf does using ableton and messing with controllers have to do with actually producing music? Absolutely nothing. Thats the same thing as saying "Hey, you have two turntables. You better be able to make your own music." or "You're a professional football player, so get on this horse and play polo."
This and part one are really amazing! I wasn't really sure how to DJ with Ableton without doing an A/B sort of thing. This has give me loads of ideas! Thank you.
@91dannyshum You've obviously havent heard or seen Daft Punk using the Behringer BCR 2000 on their Alive Tour 2007, no offence Mr.Santino its a great mix after watching this im planning on getting my hands on it myself :p
these two videos are awesome, was just wondering if you had any problems syncing the bcr to the effects in ableton? the knob on mine for what would be your red krizz krozz controls the fader for track three and refuses to let me change it!
other than that, inspired me to give the ableton thing go again, nice one.
its so good, cause its all preprogrammed to the fullest, i mean most stuff is in ableton is, but this guy isn't even picking out songs, everything is already on his trigger finger. it'd be alot more difficult to do some stuff on the fly, you wanna check out the best ableton dj watch any "Surkin" youtube video, all on the fly
Thanks for sharing how you set up the controllers and what vsts and plug-in's you were using. I take it your using multiple copies of clips (consolidated?) with just short 16 bar loops etc of whatever your mixing so you can edit and mix on the fly?
yes, i use multiple copies of clips which have a length of mostly 4 or 8 bars.
i applied FX to track 1 (beat 1) directly , track 2&3 (beats 2&3) are routed to a bus > use same FX , and track 4&5 (vocals) are routed to another bus > use same FX
thats my setup,... if u have more questions feel free to ask ;)

hi Reaper ! the program i use is Ableton Live.
to "remove vocals" u can just cut your songs in any program. I do it in Ableton: Looping certain parts of the song.
for more information click on the upper right under my name on "more information" ;) , the tracklist you'll find in video no.1
dannysantino 3 years ago
nice, man.what songs are in that song, and can u tel me how to do the opposite of removing vocals(and srry for my bad english):p
