  • How long have you had the BCR? Has it given you any major headaches yet? I'm kind of thinking of getting one; at the same time, I'm a little iffy about Behringer stuff (personally, they seem kind of flimsy & crappy...)

  • @mouthbreather1 i only use the BCR from the Behringer Family, i thought the same like u. but since i saw that Daft Punk used it in their Live sets i thought its worth to try it out. it never disappointed, its very good !

google images "Daft Punk BCR2000" > u will see their pyramid setup with 2 BCRs.

Besides i trust Future Music Magazine and it was for years in their Top Ten List of Midi Controllers

  • wooow, wat effect makes the vocals rolls n repeat so fast like dat? @4:45

  • wooow, wat effect makes the vocals rolls n repeat so fast like dat?

  • Hey Danny, just wanted to say thanks for showing a little of what and how you've mapped your setup. Really helping me out!! Super dope set!!

  • F@n awesome dude~~~

  • that wer dope. nice turnaround from 1:22

  • super greg, number 1!

  • how long does it take to learn to do this?

i've been DJing for a couple of years and plays on a couple of clubs in stockholm city but i want to take the step learning livesets too ;P

  • @pillefreeride its all about learning how Ableton works, the performance is only exercise... learning ableton might take u a month, there are very good tutorials around, the rest will be only exercise...

  • @dannysantino

    ok =).

would be so nice to combine this is ny ordinary sets.

so when i'm out playing i can do some liveset and then mix over to ordinary mixing

  • Very nice, my friend. VERY nice.

  • man that was a incredible performance, !!

    One question:

Don´t you have any problems with your beat repeat?

Mine seems to fail when I tweak it a lot it with my midi controller, dont you have that problem sometimes, (sorry my frikin english)

  • @sonique25 thanx man !.... didnt have problems with the beatrepeat yet

  • tight

  • muito bom!!

  • MAD MIX ... THAT WOULD HAVE TAKEN HOURS TO SET UP .... WORTH EVERY

    MINUTE THO

  • I can see you put a lot of effort into it (I like the video too btw) but I feel the tracklist relies too much on vocal samples of hits like galvanize/technologic/etc (wich is not bad at all if you play them at the right moment) instead of solid mashing/mixing.

    keep it up, cheers!

Ps:. although this is just a ten minutes video it would be nice to hear more changes on the bassline for shure.

  • i cant help but notice that all these people doing "controllerism" seem to primarily work with loops from techno songs daft punk and vocals of pop/hip hop songs, and have a dance beat and not too much else going on seems like this is very limited, and all the effects just sound like deadmau5 wannabe effects anyways

  • @bobbyolson1 Practice makes perfect, and none of these youtube users claim to be masters at their craft. Controllerism is still a "young" form of dj'ing and still the surfaced has only been scraped :)

  • how did you do that loop thing thing

  • dope

  • little chaos

the blink + daft punk dont fit at all.....

    dude u waste your time....

you have ableton so u better sit down on your ass and make a song yourself....

  • @NoFukMusic lol wtf does using ableton and messing with controllers have to do with actually producing music? Absolutely nothing. Thats the same thing as saying "Hey, you have two turntables. You better be able to make your own music." or "You're a professional football player, so get on this horse and play polo."

  • @NoFukMusic

Dunno if we're lookin at the same vid cause this mix was fharking awsome!

  • Sweet mix. I've been thinking about getting a BCR2000 to use with Ableton Live. It's good see that it works well.

  • What looper FX are you using on the Beastie Boys part about 3:50 in ?

  • Comment removed

  • wow it's amazing ;]

  • This and part one are really amazing! I wasn't really sure how to DJ with Ableton without doing an A/B sort of thing. This has give me loads of ideas! Thank you.

  • does the BCR2000 have a loop effect? or is that all with ableton or reason or whatever you use?

  • its only a midi controller. u can program it however u want

  • im new to this so dont mind the dumb questions lol. so im guessing you can program a looper to it?

  • yes no problem: loops, fx, volume faders etc... everything what u can regulate with the mouse u can program to control with midi

  • Thats the best mix ive ever heard in my life!

  • Thanx !! :)

  • @91dannyshum You've obviously havent heard or seen Daft Punk using the Behringer BCR 2000 on their Alive Tour 2007, no offence Mr.Santino its a great mix after watching this im planning on getting my hands on it myself :p

  • wish i had more friends like you so i could learn the digital stuff... Although im not a huge fan of ableton users i can not deny it sounded great.

  • very very good job!!!!! daft punk !!!!!

  • What the name of vocal after daft punk vocal?

  • Very very good!!!

  • Hey

  • these two videos are awesome, was just wondering if you had any problems syncing the bcr to the effects in ableton? the knob on mine for what would be your red krizz krozz controls the fader for track three and refuses to let me change it!

other than that, inspired me to give the ableton thing go again, nice one.

  • thanx !

the bcr works fine for me. never tried to program a fader to a knob. i got my fadercontrol on the triggerfinger.

    cheers ! ;)

  • Wooow coool Jacket!!! ITs an adicolor right? Which one?

  • thanx, i dont remember, i think the model is "Rainbow"

  • Thanks DJ your work is very good !!! congratulations

  • whats names the music used in the producion ???

  • the tracklist is in the infobox (upper right) of video 1/2

  • that was very very a-maze-za-zing! =)

  • wow

  • You are one of the best ableton djs I have ever seen

  • its so good, cause its all preprogrammed to the fullest, i mean most stuff is in ableton is, but this guy isn't even picking out songs, everything is already on his trigger finger. it'd be alot more difficult to do some stuff on the fly, you wanna check out the best ableton dj watch any "Surkin" youtube video, all on the fly

  • this is amazing, how do you do it? i have ableton but i have no idea how to use it and the tutorials it has built in dont help.

  • normaly i dont like this kind of music but thats nice

  • very nice.

  • this is the first time a digital setup has ever impressed me. Im a vinyl purist though. Long live the wheels of steel

  • Really great mix. Loving how many accapellas you managed to fit in.

Nice bit of mario at the end too :p

  • I really like it :)

i am jelous of that Stronger acapella

you dont think you could tell me where you got it? ta

  • thanx ! ;) ... check out jamglue . com , a great site for acapellas

  • and also what program do u use?thx :p

  • hi Reaper ! the program i use is Ableton Live.

to "remove vocals" u can just cut your songs in any program. I do it in Ableton: Looping certain parts of the song.

for more information click on the upper right under my name on "more information" ;) , the tracklist you'll find in video no.1

  • nice, man.what songs are in that song, and can u tel me how to do the opposite of removing vocals(and srry for my bad english):p

  • Nice mixing, man!

  • Thanks for sharing how you set up the controllers and what vsts and plug-in's you were using. I take it your using multiple copies of clips (consolidated?) with just short 16 bar loops etc of whatever your mixing so you can edit and mix on the fly?

  • thanx to u for watching ;)

yes, i use multiple copies of clips which have a length of mostly 4 or 8 bars.

i applied FX to track 1 (beat 1) directly , track 2&3 (beats 2&3) are routed to a bus > use same FX , and track 4&5 (vocals) are routed to another bus > use same FX

thats my setup,... if u have more questions feel free to ask ;)

    cheers!

  • I enjoyed your performance alot! Very inspiring. Also demonstrating how you configure your setup is a great idea.

  • nice ending there :)

  • haha thanx ;)

  • tiiiiiiiiiight
