@SpeedinHawk i can already tell you shouldnt get this game, its a proper combat simulator, or well as close as it gets atm, so its not run and gun like black ops, its all about precision and patience. but if your into both then yeah its a great game, just make sure you have a good pc, and i mean a really good pc otherwise the FPS will drive yu nuts.

Of course, with this, means you need good skills to play, and a good computer to run it. But, you don't HAVE to shoot and kill, there are many other things to do, just explore the possibilities, it'll take a long to time...HUGE map, great gameplay, great physics, great graphics, great weapons, great vehicles, great support, and great mods! Need I say more?

@harrybyles1996 If you play Call of Duty and you think it's hard, don't play Arma because it's atleast 40 times harder and realistic. If you get into a realism unit, you'll be assigned to missions that go on for 3+ hours straight, and that doesn't mean you're going to be in combat. You might be assigned as forward observer, and you might have to look at a city for 3 whole hours doing nothing whatsoever. This game isn't run and gun either, you get shot once or twice by an AK-47 and you're dead.

It's a computer game, but I warn you: about 1% of the entire game is flying. It's an open-world war game where you can indeed fly planes. BUT you need a computer with amazing specs to run it. I wouldn't recommend running it on anything less than a Core 2 Duo and a very solid graphics card.

no. i have also a nvidia geforce 8500 gt and i tried it on lowest settings and it still runs bad and looks bad. but the actual game is great. I used a 2.33 ghz dual core processor and 2 gig ram with my card. if you want to try the game out download the demo from steam. and if you like it hurry its also 50% off this week on steam. I bought it but now i need to upgrade my graphics card to play it. im gonna go with the nvidia gtx 260

i don't know if you can controll the flaps on arma, but you need them to be on 'full' on landing - helps you see the runway better.

also try lifting slightly just befor touchdown and put your engins on idle .. oh and airbreaks fully open :)
