@sincitysycopath702 - Adding another battery is your best option at this point, but remember, your alternator is the life-force of your electrical system. Without enough juice, it doesn't matter how many batteries you have, your alt won't be able to handle it.

@sk8guy902 - No, it's cool. I'd rather be answering a comment, than an untraceable PM. A lot of people use "busbars" to connect their batteries in bulk. When you think of it, the THOUSANDS of heavy hitters out there who use busbars, do NOT have fusing between battery, to battery.
@sk8guy902 - Google the amount you need (25ft, 50ft ect) and search from 'low to high' - Get the most affordable 'OFC', true 1/0 wire you can - DBL and Knukonceptz might be your best bet.

I am installing a 45A 110V power inverter in my truck. at max load i work it out to be around 5000W at 400A from the 12V. This would be used to power an air compressor so not a constant draw. Can you tell me where to find a relay that will handle 400A or would i be better off just running parallel?

@pcgamergod thats how i have my car and if you do that youll have to start the car every day or itll b completely dead in the morn idk y but a technician told me that the acid batt drains the gel batt bcus there less powerful or sum like that so id recommend either a hybrid capacitor or a isolator like exo said
In this help videos you said that relays are better than isolators because they are not rated by amps. All the relays I've seen are all amp rated where can I find the unrated relays.? Hey i need to hook up an extra battery in my car because an aftermarket performance idea that im pursuing requires 24 volts to reach its max potential. Im trying to use the battery thats connected to the car and the spare to both power this. I would need a battery islolator i know after i hook up the battery isolator to the two batteries (battery that powers car + spare battery) can i connect the positive and negative power wires from this item to both batteries?
I need all 24 volts from both batteries to power this, but i dont want my car to be running on all 24 volts for obvious reasons, however i want the alternator to charge both batteries IE the isolator. I just want to figure out how to supply power from both batteries to this one item with out both batteries being hooked up to the car, but i need them both to charge off the alternator..Thanks in advance for any help.

@ph1ldav1sFROSTED Definately upgrade wire, I ruined a sundown amp supposedly from lack of voltage :( As for batteries, just parallel them. Hook up your front battery like normal and run a wire from Pos (front) to Pos (rear). Then just ground both of them to good bare metal, you dont have to connect their Negatives and thats expensive depending on how far you have to run your wire.

@uniqueautosounds - I'd just wire that bish' in parallel with the other battery. A stock alt can usually handle 2 batts, as long as you down drop the batts down to 11v all day, everyday you know?

@kingspader86 You need Strappable amps like Ex. Kac-9105d. You can olny hook up the same amp to the same amp if they can be strapped. Only some amps can.

@BaggedS10Extreme Set the gains properly and upgrade the big 3 and make sure you have a solid ground for your amps. Also be sure you're running large enough gauge wire, too small of wire creates resistance which will also cause voltage drop.
talking about battery isolation...think theres a way that we can place a switch on the wire going from starting batteries to the additional batteries to disconnect it while the cars off.? might mess around with that when installing my KHC2000 & DD9512

But my concern is the power, I just bought an alternator but at the time I was not planning to install subs, the alternator is only 130 amps. I know I can upgrade the big 3 to help with power.

@eppi1064 any amp under 1000 watts or 1 k does not need a capacitoor or 2nd battery . u can tell how to judge by te wattage ur amd is pushing 1 k wattage = 1 farad

@redZ400 u got the right idea u can do a optima red top for starting and a kinetic for the systum only thing im stuck on on that is if i need to up grade my alternator and i can find where to get h o or dual alt kits for the car im going to get
@dragonsage2008 i've got the optima in, but i think im going with XSpower instead of kinetic. As far as the alternator, I was told to upgrade it before adding a second battery. im having a hard time finding HO alts or brackets for my truck, but hopefully its easier for your car the best i can tell you is to search online

@SergeantPope You could add one in the back or front. In the back is better because of wire shortness to the system off the second battery. And it's easier due to space and the power wire already being run back there.
@lovegod1972 The higher the cca the better usually. Especially if you did the big 3 upgrade already. Try to buy two matching batteries though. If one is deep cycle and the other OEM, the batteries as a whole will charge only to the weakest one.
EXO - I got my 2nd batt & cables running to the bed of my truck, Question - Do I have to run an addition 10 ft. of power from under the hood or can I just jump off the second batt & use 4ft coming back through the bed ?
Why would you hook the back batter up to the front ? WHy cant you just hook up the back batter to the alternator. Wouldn't that be the best way to do it?
@bl4h1 It's all the same really. The alternator is connected to the front battery normally anyways. It's just easier to connect multiple big guage wires off a terminal post on the battery and easier to run the wires cleanly and safely.

@alfonso713v separate the rca cables from the power. like for example, run the rca wires along the driver side, and the power wire along the passenger side, or vise versa. i kinda had the same problem but had unwanted noise. every time i increase the speed of my car, the noise gets louder. lol. and yes that means you have to take off your fronts seats for this lil project. it was a pain for me since i have headrest monitors on both the seats. lol

@pcgamergod thats how i have my car and if you do that youll have to start the car every day or itll b completely dead in the morn idk y but a technician told me that the acid batt drains the gel batt bcus there less powerful or sum like that so id recommend either a hybrid capacitor or a isolator like exo said

In this help videos you said that relays are better than isolators because they are not rated by amps. All the relays I've seen are all amp rated where can I find the unrated relays.? Hey i need to hook up an extra battery in my car because an aftermarket performance idea that im pursuing requires 24 volts to reach its max potential. Im trying to use the battery thats connected to the car and the spare to both power this. I would need a battery islolator i know after i hook up the battery isolator to the two batteries (battery that powers car + spare battery) can i connect the positive and negative power wires from this item to both batteries?

I need all 24 volts from both batteries to power this, but i dont want my car to be running on all 24 volts for obvious reasons, however i want the alternator to charge both batteries IE the isolator. I just want to figure out how to supply power from both batteries to this one item with out both batteries being hooked up to the car, but i need them both to charge off the alternator..Thanks in advance for any help.

im runnin 1k rms daily i got a crappy 3.2 farad crapacitor, id like to ditch that bitch and install my second batt in the trunk, I can only get acess to 4guaug wires in my hometwon, will it do the job for pos to pos and neg to neg from front batt to rear one?
im thinkin about doing big 3 with the 4gauge too. I know basics of car audio but thats just not what im used to LOL Please help me out

@ph1ldav1sFROSTED Definately upgrade wire, I ruined a sundown amp supposedly from lack of voltage :( As for batteries, just parallel them. Hook up your front battery like normal and run a wire from Pos (front) to Pos (rear). Then just ground both of them to good bare metal, you dont have to connect their Negatives and thats expensive depending on how far you have to run your wire.

@uniqueautosounds - I'd just wire that bish' in parallel with the other battery. A stock alt can usually handle 2 batts, as long as you down drop the batts down to 11v all day, everyday you know?

Question man...I have 330 RMS in my 2007 Dodge Ram. I was thinking about buying a Kinetik HC800 to replace my stock power cell. If I need more power later, can I just add another Kinetik to the other side and wire it parallel? I am not sure how much battery power I will need. @kingspader86 You need Strappable amps like Ex. Kac-9105d. You can olny hook up the same amp to the same amp if they can be strapped. Only some amps can.

@BaggedS10Extreme Set the gains properly and upgrade the big 3 and make sure you have a solid ground for your amps. Also be sure you're running large enough gauge wire, too small of wire creates resistance which will also cause voltage drop.

I am getting two 12" SPLX 122HX,4, I'm going to use an Power Acoustik STAX5500/1D amp.
But my concern is the power, I just bought an alternator but at the time I was not planning to install subs, the alternator is only 130 amps. I know I can upgrade the big 3 to help with power.
So my question is which would be cheapest to power my subs, a new high output alternator or a second battery, I don't want to strain the alternator

i have a 200 watt peak amp powering a 15 l7 in a 2000 subaru outback and the headlights dim and im worried im stressing my alternator. im wondering if you think a relay would be a good iea for me because i am planning on buy a new car in a few years and dont wanna put a new alternator in. because i need a good starting battery, and a redtop would be good for that... and i've been told that kinetic/ xs will disappoint you as a starting batt.

As far as the alternator, I was told to upgrade it before adding a second battery. im having a hard time finding HO alts or brackets for my truck, but hopefully its easier for your car the best i can tell you is to search online

but theres also Excessive Amperage, Mechman, Mean-Green, dcpowerinc, iraggi-alternator (dot com after all those). just to add a few options, they don't list parts for my ride but they have good reputations it seems. just sort of an fyi

@SergeantPope You could add one in the back or front. In the back is better because of wire shortness to the system off the second battery. And it's easier due to space and the power wire already being run back there.

@lovegod1972 The higher the cca the better usually. Especially if you did the big 3 upgrade already. Try to buy two matching batteries though. If one is deep cycle and the other OEM, the batteries as a whole will charge only to the weakest one.

Why would you hook the back batter up to the front ? WHy cant you just hook up the back batter to the alternator. Wouldn't that be the best way to do it?

@bl4h1 It's all the same really. The alternator is connected to the front battery normally anyways. It's just easier to connect multiple big guage wires off a terminal post on the battery and easier to run the wires cleanly and safely.

Relays are not very Ideal... They're harsh on your alternator, etc.
You don't need an isolator unless you're going to pound on your system forever. with the car off.
When in doubt. Just run your car and THUMP

@alfonso713v separate the rca cables from the power. like for example, run the rca wires along the driver side, and the power wire along the passenger side, or vise versa. i kinda had the same problem but had unwanted noise. every time i increase the speed of my car, the noise gets louder. lol. and yes that means you have to take off your fronts seats for this lil project. it was a pain for me since i have headrest monitors on both the seats. lol
