It was the national Anthem of Afghanistan from 1992 to 2006. Yes, it was made during the Mujahidin Government in the 1990s.

this is a real anthem, which shows the desire and ambition and prosperity of a nation, contrary to what we have at the moment Karzai,s national anthem which is frankly very childish anthem, mention some ethnic and ignore others, No anthem in the world mention the ethnic of his country, and afghanistan or khorsan consist of many many ethnic is not only Hazara, tajik or pashton or uzbik and turkman, far more than that. also anthem should not be in pashto cause pashto is not national language.

in order to update those who were born in pakistan or out side and dont know about afghanistan : this is the national anthem from 1993-2004 . for more info they can find some video from national days within these years and u can hear the same text and music ..this is the best and realy national athem who presents all ethinic group in afghanistan and its bright history in the past . also by a language that is understandable by most of population ..anytime i listen to this , my hair gets raise!

Well, it's a nice song - no, I really like it but from 1992 to 2004 Afghanistan had never had an official status. It was a country involved in civil war and military occupation. To put this in other words, this song our national anthem by law. It was maybe the would-be national anthem. And that's one of the reasons why we finally became our present national anthem.

Dear gran wrora, it seems you have never been to Afghanistan in your entire life. Please see wikipedia or Afghan govrnment website, this National Anthem was replaced with the present national Anthem in 2006.
