@canadiancatgreen the red and grey cars already on the truck were Toyota Camrys. The one being loaded was an Australian 1986-88 model Nissan Skyline or Pintara. The Pintara being the 4 cylinder version of the Skyline

@GM572 Funds were really low and couldnt afford to fix it. It was a pretty cool car. Straight through 3" sounded sweet. Its a shame it got smashed, you dont see much r31's on the road these days.

Dude, seriously.... sorry for calling you an idiot, but I get a really angry when I see people scrapping cars. That is something I can't stand. I "attacked " people who destroyed die cast models, let alone real cars. I'd rather die than scrap my car. I have a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti, I shoved a lot of money into it and I still have to shove a lot of money for the restoration project I started, I never even got the chance to drive it, but I'll never give up. I'd rather die than do that.

I figured you've got one special car of the short lived Merkur, i didn't know so i had to look it up in wiki.

Usually it's known as Ford Sierra, but maybe you can use parts from it?

Yeah, I know the Ford Sierra, I absolutely love it(actually my first idea wuz to buy one of those, than I saw a video with a drifting black XR4Ti and then I wuz lucky enough to find one sleeping on the streets. ) Bought my first one, Fritz(1987 red and gray ). This one I'm restoring. And I bought another one(1988 metallic chestnut ) for next to nothing to use as parts car. Better strip a car and use the parts to keep another one running than to chuck it all away at the crusher.

I have sold a few cars to the scrapper. One had a bad transmission, one was old, and I needed to make rent, and the last one had all sorts of problems with the title that I couldn't get straightened out. Usually what they do is take the Catalytic Converter (some of the elements inside are worth $10,000 an ounce) and either shred or crush the rest.

Nah but i asked him about the red one and he said that it was a perfect running car and most of the cars he picks up are fine.

Some people think selling it for $400 or something isnt worth the hassle but im sure some one would of been happy with it.

I bought a $300 car about 4 years ago and its still going strong. It has some rust and the engine is noisy, but its never failed me. Well, alt starter and rad went but $100 spent at the wreckers got it back on the road.

I felt bad for the car too. It really just needed a new front end and some panel beating but who can be fucked. I was going to keep the block for a DOHC build but i was getting sick of the wreck sitting there.
