  • R.I.P. Kool Rock Steady

  • Did KRS ever respond to this?

  • @jwh1999

Krs would destroy this guy in a battle.

  • i was in high school with kool rock. we went to wells high school on ashland and augusta. i remember in our freshman year i use to call him rudolph and he hated that so he started callin me dj bam from the partys we use to throw. man this dude saved my ass at this big party we threw at the erie building and one of the turntables went out. he took this old ass turntable with woodgrain around it and went to work and saved our party and from that we got real kool.

  • You're right, he did not like to be called Rudolph.... Rudolph is his real name.

  • F***ing class man !!

  • Rest in peace Kool Rock Steady :)

  • Very good

  • I remember, Bruce(Bruce Lee), Leon, Don, Stan(Auto Boy)Sean, Bookie, Carlos, Cauld(Madball) Jemaine, the strong family, Chris(AC the Lover), Scooter G, the twins from 67Street, the Graham Family, the 67Street Rhodes crew which we were apart of, Parkway Gardens, Woodlawn Gardens, Wabash building, Calument Building, 220 Building.

  • @mrjosephrobinsonjr ..I remember I use to live around Woodlawn Gardens 61/Evans

  • I'm sure I know you... Joseph is my name. Kool Rock got upset because KRS one dissed Hip House. I recalled KRS one went up to interview with Pink House of WKKC. KRS one wrote on the board, "Peace to Kool Rock." KRS one didn't want to beef because I think Afrika Bambaataa was his uncle. Kool Rock had some pull in New York. Queen Latifah did some Hip House.

  • damn I didn't know that,,with krs1 and kool rock steady

  • 63rd Champlain is a part of hip hop and hip house history..

  • well when I first heard housemusic I was young as hell and Kool rocksteady was one the first people I ever heardb rap on house beats

  • I was talking to my frien Sean and he said, "We were grown men at the age of 11 years of age." We pause for a monemt because we did not have the little kid memories. We were trying to live honest and I do recalled we all had newspaper routes before school and we worked at the car wash on South Chicago after school.

  • I respect my old hood but I'm sad we had it so hard, lived so hard, some died hard, gave up on life, choose to die young, lived in fear every day and night, drugs and drinking at a young age to escape manhood at a young age and had the me against the world attitude.

  • I recalled another time me(turnado), Sinbad and Kaos went to WHPK and free styled over the air which was cool. WHBK is in the basement of University of Chicago. Out of all of our childhood friends it's only a few of us who are trying to better our life each day. The rest are either in jail, on drugs or dead.

  • At the time I was trying to find a way out of the hood and I was blessed I never stayed for the sex parties. The fallout between Kaos and Kool Rock happen when Kool Rock dissed KRS one. Kaos claimed Kool Rock was branching off and was not trying to plug him. Kool Rock made some money off the KRS one diss and purshased a blue caddy.

  • We all went to James McCosh gramma school. We were on 63rd & Champlain down the street from James McCosh gramma school. Yeah, Kool Rock died of AIDS from having unprotected sex with girls.. Everyone hung at Leon house on 63rd & Champlain and was having unprotected sex with the same girls. A few of my friends from that 63rd & Champlain Crew died of AIDS.

  • Kool Rock was the man... I remember when we would go up to WHPK on University of Chicago Campus(Student Run Radio Station). If anyone knows Sinbad, Kaos, Turnado then they knew 63 & Champlain crew.. Kool Rock and Sinbad did something togather. I did something with Kaos. The orginal crew started with Kool Rock and Kaos.

  • This is so funny! This dude can't handle KRS! Haha! Good show old chap!

  • yeah i always ask myself the same you are just an average guy with that nose and phony how can you get that girl... damn seriously..

  • lol the rap is cool.. lol

  • Ha, I use to buy bad boy bill and too kool kris mix tapes, then get me a maxwell polish, airbrush shirt, and slick overalls. Don't forget the starters jackets. Real Jew Town!!!

  • what happened to Kool rock steady

  • I think he died of AIDS. Bad deal.

  • I'm sorry I had no idea..Just like Miss Tony

  • shame we have to die anyway

  • Action speaks louder than words!

  • Fuck UIC and all the white and Chinxs and arabs.

  • Near the old Maxwell street market. UIC tore it down. It was like "Calcutta" according to my Dad. It was awesome. You could buy anything, including mix tapes from guys with 8 ft high bass speakers. CHICAGO!

  • OLDSCHOOL CLASSIC SHIT! DAMN! why the fuck i can't give 6?! 5!

  • of course you can! this is the choon BOI! keep kool and we rok steady.

  • Why does this sound like Jungle Bros. 'Girl I'll House You' ? This is hot garbage. KRS-One is a legend.

  • Exactly, thats what he's talking about, new york cats biting a chicago style.

  • @MrChisoxfan06

Also, New York try to take credit for inventing house music

  • who created House music and all it's subgenres (hiphouse, eurohouse etc) Belgium or Germany??.. USA?, I don't think so

  • House Music got it's start here in Chicago

  • I know that Phil Collins is the godfather of TripHop

  • @LoganHankins Who asked about triphop?

  • and of course germans make money with music too thats so but i mean the really cool stuff is all made by americans.. and i mean i dont so germans are dumb no they are clever making money with trash but still cool music is made by americans,,., of course germans take 2 niggas let a freak write a song for cheap and make 100000 per song.. i mean why not easy money but they dont make great music...

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS That's your opinion, but most of the music I hear nowadays is european, (not just germans). USA bored me, they lost the melodies and every new song has a crappy lyric, damn, I cant be al day listen to crap like that man.

  • i dont know i dont like modern german music, the only european music i like is spanish, italian and some dutch stuff... i used to liek that rotterdam nation track.. i dont know maybe its german..

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS ah , you're talkin about latinpop. I used to hear that early 2000. man I didnt want to fight if you thought that. I just want to make people know that the best hiphouse is from europe, Snap is from germany, Milli Vanilli too. KRS is american dont worry, bye

  • germany created house?? you are gay all good music comes from america america are the verry greates when it comes to music... just look at the gay discos in germany germany has nothing no music no chicks no fun nothing... america has everything when it comes to music... germany doesnt even have good dj AMERICA HAS the best music, the hottest chicks, the coolest djs.. the coolest discos everything they know how to party not like germany only holland has a few good djs

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS what a pathetic.. Do you think house acts like Technotronic (Belgium), 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor (Germany), Culture Beat (Germany) are americans just because the singers are from there?, shit man, you've to read a lil more. Producers, musicians and songwriters are European and singers american. Germany and Europe had the best house/dance projects of the world in the '90s and 00s. early 2000, dance act Eiffel 65, italians... Well, selfish ignorant, recognize, 90s & 00s>>>EUROPE

  • thats total crap i dont even know 2 brothers on the 4th floor and culture beat is pretty bad...

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS daamn , what a pity. American selfish culture didn't approve to get foreign music, they just like their music. what a pity. But I'm not a fuckin dumb based on the charts, I prefer to research more music. Well, I'm chilean, so I have the grace that I can listen music from every country. Nowadays, most of the music I listen is from Europe. I got tired of recent american acts, they are so fuckin boring, and of course, 80s was the best in USA, but 90s and 00s, Europe.

  • in germany you dont even find hip hop music or house discos and when you go to a disco there can be hundreds of people but no chicks man im telling you GERMANy SUCKS SO HARD WEHN it comes to lifestyle

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS Hey fucking tranny, I don't know, but every Eurodance, Eurorap, 'euro' is from germany, they even have more hiphouse acts, and they all use a rap bridge in their tune, ignorant. A Night At The Roxbury... ''Haddaway", "La Bouche", "No Mercy", "Amber", etc... they all 'EURO'DANCE acts, projects of Tony Hendrik and Frank Farian, both germans, so, I can recognize that the '80s were of the americans, but '90s are of GERMANS. Technotronic singers were american, but producers Belgium.

  • sorry i didnt know exactly what house is,, i thought its that cool underground music not that trash fags hear on mtv... is this song here from rock steady german?? i mean you can call sido a rapper but everyone with taste tells you this aint rap.. just because some people marketing something as rap it doesnt mean it is by the way and i never thought haddaway was house

  • @IPAWNMYQUEENS Rap for me and people I know is an art abut sing with rhymes and style used in Hiphop and other styles. And no, sorry, Haddaway is Eurohouse. europe. I relized that you're of those people who think that a group wich sing in english is from USA. nope, europeans wrote in english too. Don't confuse. In the 80s donna summer was produced by SAW (England), well yes, the singer is american.

  • maybe but kool rock steady was from ny

  • Yo! This was my homeboy, Kool Rock Steady. He's a Chicago Hip Hop legend (Like Me) and we did this sh*t when Hip Hop was still crawling. R.I.P to my homeboy.

  • smoking and off the chain 20 years later

  • Chicago at it's best!!

    R.I.P. Kool Rock Steady

  • Man, this was a TRUE battle back then!! KRS1 was ...to say the least... NOT amused but he dissed KRS first! Because the initials in his name and because he said the music was lame! KRS1 was a fat headed individual that wanted to hold this music down. he was pissed because Chi-town created something new out of something old. I totally respect KRS1 but Kool Rock Steady was in his right to fight back! CHI TOWN all the way BABY!! REST IN PEACE KOOL!!! WE SURE DO MISS U!!

  • south bronx,killed all that!!!!!

  • where is he now?... whos the sucka kool?

  • I feel sorry for Chicago now, i miss the way chicago was in the early 90s/ 80s- it felt like east coast NYC back then.. I love this house music.
