you can get these for about 7 and 1/2 g's go to conley.com and blow your own mind like i did drooling at the price tag thats b.s. just because they are the only ones who make it the can over price we live in the usa and the only thing that can be stupidly over priced is oil products
71/2 K would get you a fuel injected Ford or Chevy! This must be a very small production batch price. Considering the tooling involved, it's probably 100% machined. A larger batch rate would justify castings. Like you said, They need more competition. I don't see the market, though. I think I'll stick with things I can actually drive.
No cooling system components shown? I know these are normally water-cooled, but the stand doesn't seem to have accommodations for a radiator. Is air cooling sufficient for these short-duration test runs of a minute or less, but the water-cooling system becomes necessary only with extended run times?
Nitromethane can be mixed with gasoline in racing applications, however the cost to do so insanely offsets the benefits. It's much more cost effective to go with an alchohol/nitromethane mixture. I have seen some of the octane boosters that you can buy that have nitromethane listed as one of their ingredients,
however I really doubt it's the ingredient giving the actual boost in this application.

@devo4g63 LOL! It would make a BADASS powerplant for a go-kart! If I'd known this could be done and had the cash to drop $5K+ for a go-kart engine at age 12, I'd have probably built my go-kart with one of these instead of the 5HP side-shaft Briggs that I used, just for the SOUND alone! What 12-year-old kid wouldn't go half nuts over a 6.5HP powerplant that roared like a shrunken Chevy 350???
I totally agree with you chris. I work hard, am able to support my family as well as have a hobby I enjoy. As a machinist I am thinking of making one of those awesome nitro v8's myself. Just not sure what I wanna base it on.
i wouldnt try it. extreme high performance dragsters and NASCAR engines run off of nitro. putting it in a "store bought" sports car may ruin the tune or the engine.
Methanol and mixtures of nitromethanol run a fuel to air mixture that is about 2 times that of gasoline. Your vehicle would need to be able to inject twice as much of the nitro fuel that it does running on gasoline. Aside from overcoming that hurdle, there are a host of other things that stand in your way such as compression ratio, exhaust valve problems, and the methanol attacking rubber and plastic components in the fuel line. Also, your catalytic convertor would absolutely be destroyed.
@chopmop08 You can do it in a briggs&stratton powered lawnmover :-)
Only suggested if you really need to cut the half a meter grass....
Dont use less than 50% gasoline or it will get problems in idling. It smells like dragracing and with a little adjustment (if really needed) on the main jet it will give you quite a lot more useful HP's.
I am married and have a wonderful family. Your comment, on the other hand, shows that you obviously have a serious lack of relationship experience. If you think that you can't be smart, successful, and have hobbies that the likes of you would need a lifetime to understand, AND still be loved, then you are going to be the one who is lonely.
thats badass id so out that in a lil go cart and be gone it prolly has nice horsepower for its size but prolly shitty mileage but looks fun to play wit
Thanks for the kudos! I designed the servo controller. If you know how to use a 555 timer chip, you can use it to make the pulses that are required to control a servo. The 9000mah battery pack was make by putting 6 1500mah cells in parallel. This makes a 1.2 volt, 9000mah battery pack.
I made the fuel tank by welding the bottoms of 2 coke cans onto both ends of a section of aluminum tube. The aluminum tube was taken from a large patio umbrella.
