What would happen if all catholics stopped praying to Mary, stopped praying the rosary? Those who wrote the bible have already interceded for us through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, but I dont need to pray to them to ask for their continual intercession. Mary interceded through the Holy Spirit by giving birth to our Savior & hers too, but i dont need to pray to Mary or pray the rosary to ask for her continual intercession. Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit to continually intercede for us.

Out of 53 "hail marys"... I will love to say HAIL JESUS all 53+ times...... I love Mary the Mother of Jesus(Yeshua)..... & I know Mary wouldnot Mind if i did this change in Rosary.... @jinu03. I have always thought about changing the Hail Mary into Hail Jesus. The second part of this Hail Mary is not in the bible, it was added by the popes and this is idolatry. Stay close to Jesus and dont let any church doctrine turn you away from the Lord.

@bornagainsaint1 Ummm... how is that idolatry?? Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Doesn't sound like Idolatry to me, it sounds like asking the mother of God to pray for us. Think about it... If Mary was good enough for Jesus then she is good enough for us.

@david3110daoud. It is idolatry when you pray to Mary in her name as stated in the "Hail Mary". The bible forbids contact to those who have passed on. The only reason you cant see the idolatry in this is bcuz the pope encourages catholics to pray to her. When the living prays to anyone else other than in Jesus' name, this is clearly idolatry. Just bcuz Mary gave birth to Him doesnt justify praying to her. Remember when Jesus said "Who is my mother......."? She's no different than we are.
