Can play anything but metal with emgs? I have emgs in my guitar and they sound absolutely amazing with every sound ive throw at them, a nice clean jazz, snappy blues, beautifully clear with distortion, and full of life just playing chords when I'm bored, all it takes is a little tweaking of your amp settings since they're active, and a good tubed amp helps with the sound tremenvously

Haha nah only kidding, I suppose if you like them then thats your opinion, but the only active pickup I would consider are blackouts. I don't personally like EMGs and I prefer passive pickups anyway. They seem like they give more of a "rock" tone than a "metal" tone which is what I am going for :)

@DeSmetownescbc Because the EC-1000 is an amazing unit and not everyone wants to play repetitive metal; which is the only thing you can do with EMG's..They have too much compression. Seymour Duncans are way more versatile, you can still get the heaviest metal tone, and you can rip some great rock./jazz/blues.
