Guys,Girls forget what this guy's opinion is. The android and iPhone are both the best selling phones in the market.it's not like one can do what the other can't. The droid has apps too it can film also take pictures surf the web play games. NO BIG DIFFERENCE NOW IS THERE?

Apple wins b/c android phones tht r newer r faster than the ones b4 tht & while if u have an iPhone 4 ur iOS updates to iOS 5 & I basically have the same features & the same speed. And they just release a few a yr or every few yrs & they r still on top of the market.

iPhone is a big seller for those who don't wish to tweak their phones. It's simple to use without burried sub menu's. Apps are easy to buy / install. My 5 year old has no problem using every bit of my iphone4. Droid can be tweaked to no end and will have the same features as the iPhone eventually. Another reason I like the iPhone is I usually have buyers remorse on everything especially when another model comes out 1 month later. With Droid I would drive myself nuts, w/ iPhone 1 time /yr.
even with the iphone coming to verizon there still leaves sprint & t-mobile out while android phones are everywhere and the personalization i give 2 android which is why im upgrading 2 an android phone
The iphone is over rated. I have an iPod touch (4th gen) and a droid incredible. the ipod FOR THE MOST PART can do everything the iphone can if your connected to wifi. i like the incredible better.
But how did you get that bottom dock at the bottom of that Incredible? I have an HTC Hero but am thinking of getting the Incredible soon but I sometimes get sick of HTC Sense. That bottom dock is cool. What program did you use?

actually this video is a paradox in itself. the whole reason android CANT compete with apple is because there are TOO many android based phones coming out. Android devices are competing with themselves. Apples marketing strategy is genius. release 1 phone a year and sell millions. Last time i checked the iphone 4 sold 1.6mil its first week. NO ANDROID CAN EVEN HOPE TO TOUCH THOSE FIGURES. the droid 1 has 500k units sold first week [[which is also the highest figures for any android device.]]

android over saturates the market with phones and the apps take a hit in the area of quality for it....in comparison to iphone. People prefer to write this off and excuse but it is there.
For those who are in support of openness argues that the iphone 4 is better because it can be jailbroken. However, they did not note that Apple is going to introduce a patent that would render iphones useless if jailbroken.

Exactly! Congrats to Motorola and Apple for both making excellent devises. I believe, the reasons that people/"fanboys" complain about the other device to 1-make themselves feel like they didn't make a mistake in buying either one(which is impossible when it comes to these two) And 2 some just like friction. I think the thing holding them apart is that iPhone runs on AT&T, so come february, hopefully that will all change

And his main point was trying to emphasize about the open source platform being a better choice over closed source. Good video man, I think iPod touch is all you need from apple and even maybe a MacBook (I say this because both of these) and they re great. When it comes to phones, I absolutely love my droid x. It's ever expanding and the apple products just turn out the same. Good video, I like the unbiassed opinion, exactly how I feel since I use both in different ways.
@kostonkiddo Thanks. Yeah, there is not point in bashing either device. In the end, they're all very good. Pretty much comes down to preference. I used to be big on mac computers. The funny thing is at the studio, we have to reformat our Mac computers every 5-6 months because they slow down big time. And one of our Windows 7 machines runs Avid better than the Mac in our opinion. So...who knows. :)
@vociti You sir dont know much about macs :). go to disk utility and repair disk permissions. Itll fix it. Also reset PRAM every 2 months or so by booting and pressing option/alt + command + p + r

@twinsouls I'm not a fan boy. I made this video for anyone on the fence between iphone or an android device like the X, incredible, etc. I use some of apple's products but not iphone. And seeing what new phones are coming for Q4 2010, absolutely amazing. If people are apple users, great. However, if better products come along, I don't have real brand loyalty. The android is simply a better OS and it's being put on better and better phones. So I decided to start using Android.

all you proved with this vid is that android is doing its best to copy whatever apple is doing with the iphone. releasing a phone each year is more beneficial to consumers because you dont wanna know that had you waited a month or two you could have gotten a phone that is closer to a better copy of an iphone, the droid may be a good phone but like all copies it wont be better than the original. it isnt better than the iphone
@whiteandnerdytuba the problem with this is, what if the iphone has a big defect, kind of like the one it has now, they have to wait a while before they come out with a new one. so if an android phone has a defect they can make sure it gets fixed by the next time it comes (within months, not years). No doubt that the iphone is a good phone, but the service sucks, the apps are freakin incredible but everything comes from a certain standpoint. The iphone and android phones are on par w/ eachother.

More models of droid phones means they are improving slowly, having people buy them every few months. Wouldn't it make them reluctant to buy knowing that it will?
To me having a company bring out a new model every few months is not a good thing. It's like the company is milking-the-public for more money. They are just doing it in another way.
The Ovi store is lacking so much and so far the App Store in iTunes is the best I seen. Nokia is my preferred phone such as the N series & other than the LOS causing dropped calls for iPhone 4. I prefer the majority of the hardware in it. Can somebody tell me of one equal or better?

Remember Beta it lost to VHS? Driod may have more and may not, yet it could be the next Beta. iPhone spouted off about having more App's well I checked on that & it does. Maybe you missed that iPhone 3GS... it was a new phone. There was a lot changed between the two. so they have a new phone every year. And while Android may have devices coming out every month "or two" that just means you are more likely to have some buyer remorse when a bigger badder phone comes out next month and you can't upgrade or it is on another network. I am not saying that havign the same iPhone for a year is much better, but I know what I am getting and know how long I have to wait
The IPhone is a great phone, in itself, but to each, their own. That being said, it's Android for me. I love the level of customization in Android. Not for nothing but anyone who REALLY knows phones knows that front-facing cameras are nothing new (except to the US market). Phones in other parts of the world had front-facing cameras for video calling over 3G since ~2005.
Google needs to realize that Android needs better optimization for 3D rendering, and they need to get their heads out of their asses and realize no one has a G1 and no one gives a fuck that high end/3D games don't run well, or at all, on it. As the old saying goes, you're only as strong as your weakest link.

@sportsdreamer6 The upgrade didn't cost me anything because my company paid for it. So I'm honestly not sure. As for upgrading, it differs per carrier. I think once you use your upgrade, you have to wait 2 years or pay full price on the device. So if you use the upgrade now, you will get the discount again in 2 years.
You are right about Apple making fewer phones than the competition. That's because their products usually are of superior quality in both looks and performance. Well, not this time. Apple royally f'ed up on the iPhone 4 -- as though their QA department was all on vacation -- that year.
@pauls0416 I think they're products are more about looks. Our Macs at the studio have to be reformatted every 6 months due to heavy use. Just like a Windows PC. Apple makes great eye candy. But I've always loved the freedom that PC gives me, and now Android. Heck, with my PC, I have a 4 monitor system that out performs anything I know. Super reliable. I wouldn't even know how to do that with a Mac. It's definitely not as sexy though. But I'm a business man. Judge me by my car, not my computer.

@mrairjosh1 Because Android is playing catch up. If would be stupid of them to release a phone with everything right out of the gate. For a consumer it's great, from a business perspective it's not. Let the phones grow with the complexity of the OS. Read the specs on Android 3.0 due out this fall. Apple has serious competition by one of the best companies in the world since Apple.
And one of the main thing that makes a phone is it's app store ,.. Who has better apps then apple? Honestly ? And the developers are still running to make apps for who? That's right for apple... @applemacman2007 I use both PC and Apple products. We have to reformat the mac computers at the studio every 6 months like windows PC. I'm not convinced that mac makes better apps and I use both. And for my Incredible, I own a business, and I own every application I can think of that helps me with my business. The iPhone would do me no better. Developers are making apps for both Android and Apple. Some of the developers I personally know realize Apple is no longer king. They have brand loyalty.

lol, the Droid Incredible came out April 29. As of today, it is delayed until at least August 8th, it will be delayed longer. How does iOS4 smash the competition? It doesn't even truly multi-task! Droid does. You can FINALLY change your wallpaper. Yay. Oh, and it is still slower than Froyo (tied with Flash enabled on Froyo). And where's the creativity? Finally, on the issue of control, you don't even have control of your home screen. We've been running live wallpapers since before you could change your wallpaper, and I can customize my home screen to appear however I want. Do you have widgets on your home screen? No, but widgets are amazing, and powered by the fact that apps can run in the background (and no, it doesn't suck battery life away). So I don't see why I'm jealous of your phone that does less

My regular Droid was an awesome phone so I'm guessing the X will just be a better version of the original Droid.
@IYIySTiiKv1 I own a professional video/audio studio. We use mostly mac products for all the creative stuff. That's why the studio photo is in the video. However, we use Android for our phones. The iPhone is a great phone. However, it's going up against an open source system that is making revolutions once a month. That's why we support the development of Android. It's open, and its potential is limitless.
let me break the news to everyone. Iphone didnt paved the way for video call capability. Samsung released it in Korea/Japan and has been around in asia for FOUR YEARS. Along with free TV u can watch (i.e NBC/ABC/FOX) in 780p.

@TheAndroidUser Yeah, DVD is 720x480, or 480p. 1280x720 is 720p and 1920x1080 is 1080. Still I had the Droid. Video quality was just fine. Same with my incredible. HD is just sharper but it's not a huge deal. Droid X will shoot in 720p.
You bring up some good points but I think you miss that just cause a lot of companies can make their version of a phone with the OS doesn't mean they'll all be good, In fact sometimes it means they won't integrate some things well and you can get a glitchy performance. I have and know people who have experienced this with Android. While iPhone is not perfect I've used an iPhone 4 and they are very fast and seem to run all their apps very smoothly... for me the big deal breaker for now is AT&T..
@hbabels The incredible is an amazing phone. Go test out the incredible. See for yourself. And Droid X comes out this month. Also extremely fast with HDMI out and HD vid shooting. That's less than 2 months after the Incredible was released. I also heard that the front facing camera for Android is coming in August. The phones are one upping each other every month. I've witnessed it first hand. The iphone 4 is a good phone though, it has it's place. But consider Android.
@vociti ima fall out laughin if this front facing camera (at least for googles next phone) has FaceTime intergrated (which is open!).. If not i have no problem waiting another year..

Haters against the iphone... so funny. Most of us iphone users aren't nearly as vitriolic about other phone. We just sit and enjoy our phones, with most of us never feeling the need to make a video to justify our purchase and support. @Priscilla060 I've heard many great things about the palm OS. It all comes down to personal preference. It's good that we all have choices! I think the biggest thing about Android is that any cell phone maker can do what they want with it. Heck, I've even seen a washing machine powered Android. :)
The video was well put together. Still, Apple's entire identity is in having a unique product that is proprietary in nature. Consider that the model for their cell phone is the same as their laptops, desktops, and other devices. Their success is beyond what most could imagine. Still, I doubt that an Iphone is for everyone. Iphone has advantages with applications. Personally, I prefer the Google products in some ways related to non-proprietary. Competition is good regardless of your preference.

I'm in love with Android now and excited about where it's heading. With a few app installs, my Incredible looks very slick. Lots of eye candy. Very impressive. Still looking for the back scratching app then I'll be complete.
I agree, apple has really turned themselves into a small cult of users. By not being open or even accepting flash is a real bummer for them. I have an I mac, but will not choose the i phone because of this. Samsung makes great tvs, so they will make great overall phones in the future with amazing quality screens. All these companies specialize in a great quality, but apple is alone in this now and believe me a lot of people are switching over to droid phones now instead of upgrading iphones.
@mchertron I know. My incredible plays flash and it's already come in use after having the phone for only 2 weeks. The bottom line is over the next year, we are going to see some amazing Android phones hit the market while Apple will still be using the iPhone 4. It's actually a large cult of users that will live and die with Apple..which is totally fine. I really only made this simple vid for people that were on the fence about what to buy. If you're on the fence, go with Android.
I just think its funny how apple is now on their 4th generation iphone and they majorly flopped with the whole "antenna" concept :) Instantly loosing 2 bars of signal when you hold the phone in your hand is not what I would call 4 generations of "ironing out the bugs" haha. Of course apple will not do a 1.7 million device recall, they will just release a "fix" to this issue. And we all know what that means, a program that will simulate signal strength to please everyone. Well done apple. :)

Yes, you're points are correct, but that doesn't mean Android is better for everyone. Consumers could most likely care less about Android's "openness" if it means they can unknowingly download a virus. It's all about the experience, and I believe that the iPhone has the most near flawless. Both platforms are the best in their class, but 1,700,000 phones in 3 days speaks for itself. More consumers want iPhones.
@mbarvian1 Oh, totally. It's nice to have choices as a consumer. As for viruses, Google did a great job making sure you can't get a virus unless you turn off a feature in the phone that prevents you from installing 'non market' apps.

iPhones can be jailbroken, i find almost no reason to jailbreak iPhone unless your doing illegal stuff (mainly pirating).

iPhone is a big seller for those who don't wish to tweak their phones. It's simple to use without burried sub menu's. Apps are easy to buy / install. My 5 year old has no problem using every bit of my iphone4. Droid can be tweaked to no end and will have the same features as the iPhone eventually. Another reason I like the iPhone is I usually have buyers remorse on everything especially when another model comes out 1 month later. With Droid I would drive myself nuts, w/ iPhone 1 time /yr.

I think this is why they didn't update for such a long time.
1. No competitors.
2. It was such a good product it almost didnt need other then som refinements in software.
3. It didn't start selling bad for so long.
It is other times now. Android is a threat to apple. My prognosis is that iphone will release every year at least a hardware update.
My thoughts on when iphone 4 came was that. what can they do better really other then some hardwere updates. such a great product!

actually this video is a paradox in itself. the whole reason android CANT compete with apple is because there are TOO many android based phones coming out. Android devices are competing with themselves. Apples marketing strategy is genius. release 1 phone a year and sell millions. Last time i checked the iphone 4 sold 1.6mil its first week. NO ANDROID CAN EVEN HOPE TO TOUCH THOSE FIGURES. the droid 1 has 500k units sold first week [[which is also the highest figures for any android device.]]

Exactly! Congrats to Motorola and Apple for both making excellent devises. I believe, the reasons that people/"fanboys" complain about the other device to 1-make themselves feel like they didn't make a mistake in buying either one(which is impossible when it comes to these two) And 2 some just like friction. I think the thing holding them apart is that iPhone runs on AT&T, so come february, hopefully that will all change

Good video man, I think iPod touch is all you need from apple and even maybe a MacBook (I say this because both of these) and they re great. When it comes to phones, I absolutely love my droid x. It's ever expanding and the apple products just turn out the same. Good video, I like the unbiassed opinion, exactly how I feel since I use both in different ways.

@kostonkiddo Thanks. Yeah, there is not point in bashing either device. In the end, they're all very good. Pretty much comes down to preference. I used to be big on mac computers. The funny thing is at the studio, we have to reformat our Mac computers every 5-6 months because they slow down big time. And one of our Windows 7 machines runs Avid better than the Mac in our opinion. So...who knows. :)

@twinsouls I'm not a fan boy. I made this video for anyone on the fence between iphone or an android device like the X, incredible, etc. I use some of apple's products but not iphone. And seeing what new phones are coming for Q4 2010, absolutely amazing. If people are apple users, great. However, if better products come along, I don't have real brand loyalty. The android is simply a better OS and it's being put on better and better phones. So I decided to start using Android.

all you proved with this vid is that android is doing its best to copy whatever apple is doing with the iphone. releasing a phone each year is more beneficial to consumers because you dont wanna know that had you waited a month or two you could have gotten a phone that is closer to a better copy of an iphone, the droid may be a good phone but like all copies it wont be better than the original. it isnt better than the iphone

@whiteandnerdytuba the problem with this is, what if the iphone has a big defect, kind of like the one it has now, they have to wait a while before they come out with a new one. so if an android phone has a defect they can make sure it gets fixed by the next time it comes (within months, not years). No doubt that the iphone is a good phone, but the service sucks, the apps are freakin incredible but everything comes from a certain standpoint. The iphone and android phones are on par w/ eachother.

To me having a company bring out a new model every few months is not a good thing. It's like the company is milking-the-public for more money. They are just doing it in another way.
The Ovi store is lacking so much and so far the App Store in iTunes is the best I seen. Nokia is my preferred phone such as the N series & other than the LOS causing dropped calls for iPhone 4. I prefer the majority of the hardware in it. Can somebody tell me of one equal or better?

Maybe you missed that iPhone 3GS... it was a new phone. There was a lot changed between the two. so they have a new phone every year. And while Android may have devices coming out every month "or two" that just means you are more likely to have some buyer remorse when a bigger badder phone comes out next month and you can't upgrade or it is on another network. I am not saying that havign the same iPhone for a year is much better, but I know what I am getting and know how long I have to wait

The IPhone is a great phone, in itself, but to each, their own. That being said, it's Android for me. I love the level of customization in Android. Not for nothing but anyone who REALLY knows phones knows that front-facing cameras are nothing new (except to the US market). Phones in other parts of the world had front-facing cameras for video calling over 3G since ~2005.

Google needs to realize that Android needs better optimization for 3D rendering, and they need to get their heads out of their asses and realize no one has a G1 and no one gives a fuck that high end/3D games don't run well, or at all, on it. As the old saying goes, you're only as strong as your weakest link.

@sportsdreamer6 The upgrade didn't cost me anything because my company paid for it. So I'm honestly not sure. As for upgrading, it differs per carrier. I think once you use your upgrade, you have to wait 2 years or pay full price on the device. So if you use the upgrade now, you will get the discount again in 2 years.

Let the phones grow with the complexity of the OS. Read the specs on Android 3.0 due out this fall. Apple has serious competition by one of the best companies in the world since Apple.

@applemacman2007 I use both PC and Apple products. We have to reformat the mac computers at the studio every 6 months like windows PC. I'm not convinced that mac makes better apps and I use both. And for my Incredible, I own a business, and I own every application I can think of that helps me with my business. The iPhone would do me no better. Developers are making apps for both Android and Apple. Some of the developers I personally know realize Apple is no longer king. They have brand loyalty.

lol, the Droid Incredible came out April 29. As of today, it is delayed until at least August 8th, it will be delayed longer. How does iOS4 smash the competition? It doesn't even truly multi-task! Droid does. You can FINALLY change your wallpaper. Yay. Oh, and it is still slower than Froyo (tied with Flash enabled on Froyo). And where's the creativity? You can't change anything, you have no control over your device. Bottom line, I've had everything in iOS4 for awhile

Finally, on the issue of control, you don't even have control of your home screen. We've been running live wallpapers since before you could change your wallpaper, and I can customize my home screen to appear however I want. Do you have widgets on your home screen? No, but widgets are amazing, and powered by the fact that apps can run in the background (and no, it doesn't suck battery life away). So I don't see why I'm jealous of your phone that does less

Also you said people camp out for the iphone... of course they do! It's a phone that's released once a year and people want it right away! With android there are many phones to fit everyone's lifestyle, so we just have to walk into the store and get it! I switched from iphone 4 with no regrets.

@vociti - yeah, the iPhone 4 really is that bad. I think the Droid X is the perfect move for an ex- iPhone user cause it has a huge multitouch display with no physical keyboard. I love that !
Also, I can just picture myself bringing an HDMI cable to people's houses.... So we can watch movies.... That are stored on my phone! Lol how cool.

The iPhone is a great phone. However, it's going up against an open source system that is making revolutions once a month. That's why we support the development of Android. let me break the news to everyone. Iphone didnt paved the way for video call capability. Samsung released it in Korea/Japan and has been around in asia for FOUR YEARS. Along with free TV u can watch (i.e NBC/ABC/FOX) in 780p.
Not a apple hater, i have macbook + ipad (macbook is great, ipad is a phony waste).

You bring up some good points but I think you miss that just cause a lot of companies can make their version of a phone with the OS doesn't mean they'll all be good, In fact sometimes it means they won't integrate some things well and you can get a glitchy performance. I have and know people who have experienced this with Android. While iPhone is not perfect I've used an iPhone 4 and they are very fast and seem to run all their apps very smoothly... for me the big deal breaker for now is AT&T..

@hbabels The incredible is an amazing phone. Go test out the incredible. See for yourself. And Droid X comes out this month. Also extremely fast with HDMI out and HD vid shooting. That's less than 2 months after the Incredible was released. I also heard that the front facing camera for Android is coming in August. The phones are one upping each other every month. I've witnessed it first hand. The iphone 4 is a good phone though, it has it's place. But consider Android.

The video was well put together. Still, Apple's entire identity is in having a unique product that is proprietary in nature. Consider that the model for their cell phone is the same as their laptops, desktops, and other devices. Their success is beyond what most could imagine. Still, I doubt that an Iphone is for everyone. Iphone has advantages with applications. Personally, I prefer the Google products in some ways related to non-proprietary. Competition is good regardless of your preference.

I agree, apple has really turned themselves into a small cult of users. By not being open or even accepting flash is a real bummer for them. I have an I mac, but will not choose the i phone because of this. Samsung makes great tvs, so they will make great overall phones in the future with amazing quality screens. All these companies specialize in a great quality, but apple is alone in this now and believe me a lot of people are switching over to droid phones now instead of upgrading iphones.

The bottom line is over the next year, we are going to see some amazing Android phones hit the market while Apple will still be using the iPhone 4. It's actually a large cult of users that will live and die with Apple..which is totally fine. I really only made this simple vid for people that were on the fence about what to buy. If you're on the fence, go with Android.

I just think its funny how apple is now on their 4th generation iphone and they majorly flopped with the whole "antenna" concept :) Instantly loosing 2 bars of signal when you hold the phone in your hand is not what I would call 4 generations of "ironing out the bugs" haha. Of course apple will not do a 1.7 million device recall, they will just release a "fix" to this issue. And we all know what that means, a program that will simulate signal strength to please everyone. Well done apple. :)

Yes, you're points are correct, but that doesn't mean Android is better for everyone. Consumers could most likely care less about Android's "openness" if it means they can unknowingly download a virus. It's all about the experience, and I believe that the iPhone has the most near flawless. Both platforms are the best in their class, but 1,700,000 phones in 3 days speaks for itself. More consumers want iPhones.

I for one despise Apple's monopoly based mindset, and would never get an iPhone. The "experience" isn't that great in my opinion. I haven't tried the 4G, but I was unimpressed with the 3G. I preferred my BlackBerry over iPhone.
