i went to the Holocaust museum in washington dc. it was amazing..so quiet but it represenyed the history well. it was very emotional to go through and took almost an entire day to read and take everything in,
to the 6 million and the survivors, god bless you for telling us your story so that this may never happen again. and to make those who think the holocaust never existed believe that it did.

I learned so much about the tragedy, and in my eyes this was the worst thing to ever happen in history. I pray for the 40 million estimate that were killed in the holocaust. I went to a holocaust memorial museum for a field trip, and i threw up to to images. I also spoke with a survivor who is one of the nicest people i have ever met in my life.

As an American child of the 50's I had heard about "The Holocaust" even as a tyke. I never really realized how horrible it was until in 7th grade history they showed the movie "Night and Fog". Oh my God! Some children couldn't watch the whole movie and were crying and/or sick. Being a 12 year old boy who had hunted and seen animals slaughtered on the farm I watched in horrified amazement. These were people! That was over 40 years ago and I still am horrified by the Holocaust. God Bless.

i went to Dachau concentration camp two years ago when i went to germany. it was pouring down rain and as you step into the gas chamber it feels so much colder than the rest of the camp, truely a feeling beyond sad or sickened, the feeling is indescribable. when you walked to the back of the camp through a small forest you reached the furnace/ gas chambers hidden a away from every thing else. rest in peace.

Sharing food with your dying father was a futile attempt, for he would be picked off for selection and into the crematories. That would just decrease your chances of survival. Every piece of food counts there.

My German friend, for God knows why, is proud to say his Grandpa was a Nazi. In his mind, a completely German Europe would be his Utopia, I'm of Korean descent so I guess he'd need me dead for that to happen.

As an American child of the 50's I had heard about "The Holocaust" even as a tyke. I never really realized how horrible it was until in 7th grade history they showed the movie "Night and Fog". Oh my God! Some children couldn't watch the whole movie and were crying and/or sick. Being a 12 year old boy who had hunted and seen animals slaughtered on the farm I watched in horrified amazement. These were people! That was over 40 years ago and I still am horrified by the Holocaust. God Bless.

The pain these people went through is unbelievable. I am reading a book about a young boy in the holocaust, and the details and the things they went through is disgusting, and the most cruel thing you could have ever endured. One thing that pisses me off the most is the people who say....the holocaust didnt happen! How can you believe it didnt happen? Those are ignorant people. Hitler was a messed up man. good thing he died.

theres no words to describe what those people went through during that period in history. Im Latina, and i can not relate to this at all, but a few days ago i heard someone say "the holocaust is just a story to scare people" .. it really bothers me when people believe this never existed. Its such a slap in the face and the worst insult anyone can make. People should be taught about the Holocaust in schools and such because the world should make sure that NEVER happens again.

He said that they could see the german women cutting the Jewish Women's hair . He said that things were so horrible and terrible. He had nightmares after the war about things that he saw.

for this world . It's incredible, to be honest. I was just so fortunate to meet a holocaust survivor. Very touching, depressing and sad...but very interesting indeed. Holocaust survivors have all earned great respect amungst the world. their will to stay alive is again, incredible.

i went to Dachau concentration camp two years ago when i went to germany. it was pouring down rain and as you step into the gas chamber it feels so much colder than the rest of the camp, truely a feeling beyond sad or sickened, the feeling is indescribable. when you walked to the back of the camp through a small forest you reached the furnace/ gas chambers hidden a away from every thing else. rest in peace.
something you must experience if youre ever given the chance.

My heart will always go out to these ppl who had perished in the holocaust and those who had been lucky to had survived..I wish I could have had the chance to individually put my arms around all of them. Not that you would believe this, but it actualy says in the talmud that in every generation there would be (in shot) anti-semits that will try to eradicate the jews. The reason that the germans elected hitler was because he promised everyone in germany that he would give them all jobs, when at this time germany was broke cause they owed france a ton of money from WW1. After he was elected hitler opened the concentration/death cams and he forced people to join the army... Even if the germans didnt want to do this they were forced to... Unfortunately , those rules pie wrote were the unwritten rules of survival at many death camps. It was literally every man for himself. The weak died, and were gassed immediately. You must sacrifice morality and embrace selfishness to have survive in the cruel hands of the Nazis.. Sharing food with your dying father was a futile attempt, for he would be picked off for selection and into the crematories. That would just decrease your chances of survival. Every piece of food counts there.

The world has had its fair share of genocides and maniac dictators. However one cannot say one genocide was more important that the other. The Holocaust is important due to the bruatality displayed by a nation which was untill then very respected.

FYI, all the people who believe that Hitler was a Jew are wrong. Nor his mother, father or grandmother had any Jewish blood. His grandmother worked as a maid for a Jewish family got pregnant by the gardener who was married and blackmailed the Jewish family who was rich for child support claming that their 19 year old son made her pregnant she was 42 yo an gave a birth to a boy who was Hitlers father. i met a surviver of the hollocaust and was so honoured to shake his hand, he escaped 7 camps, blew up a factory and escaped Dr mengella, his mother got murdered and he met his dad again after the war. he had to swear to his dad that if he or his father were to be taken to their deaths then they would not help...because they would have be shot
