@hypedpotential Ryo probably refers to his Father, bcuz in Shenmue 1, we can see a flashback of Ryo's Father teaching him Martial Arts under this Tree with Cherry Blossom.

Ether way, no matter how old I am I'll be waiting on the Third and final Shenmue. All i do is play one, and two. There is no other game better than it, also there is nothing I'd rather play than Shenmue.
True, all we can do it hope. There was a video i watched recently and they were talking to the head CEO of sega now, and they asked about Dreamcast2 and it is not going to happen. They also were talking about Shenmue III for about 19 seconds, and the CEO said that there was no plans on it, but he said, and i quote "Shenmue III is the biggest Fanboy based request game from Sega" I guess they fear it might not sell that good. The first and second one didn't sell to great, but i Love it.
It doesn't make any sense to me; Sega has released almost nothing but crap for the past 6 or 7 years, but they wont invest the money to make Shenmue 3?! The first and second got great reviews, so why wouldn't the third? Hell, even if they made 3 in last gen's graphics I'd still gladly pay for it and then some. We want Shenmue 3 dammit, and we want it now Sega!

Theres a rumor that they are working on Shenmue 3 and that they are gonna announce it at E3.
Theres also a rumor that they are gonna release the old shenmue games on wii.
