  • Ssshhhh, Perch are a great Pike bait, just between you and me pondguru m8 ;) Graham.

  • I used to have 3 pike in here years ago but they got a bit too predatory. I put sticklebacks in first, then the perch to eat the stickleback then the pike to eat the perch. None of it really worked....

  • @pondguru Try putting a few Trout in, they are good to control the Fry and when you fancy a bit of Trout they are there to be harvested ;-) Youve got a great pond/set up there m8 its what dreams are made of. Graham.

  • Unfortunately since its full of carp, they stir up the clay and make it no good for trout. I'm hoping that a local fishery opens up and I can drain my pond then remove all the carp to give them, then get back to having trout in there.

  • I would have ate them............With Lemon!

  • LOOKS LIKE DINNER TONIGHT! HAHA

  • @turkey2003 haha minnows!, those dont look anything like minnows!

  • "ive neva seen so many fish, hav u?" u hav a hillarious accent!!!! XD

  • Do you use those minnows for bait?

  • They are Perch. I am catching them to remove them from teh pond, not for bait.

  • @pondguru Why dont u want perch in ur pond?

  • They breed like flies and eat the smaller fish.

  • @pondguru I guess id live to have a perch pond thats just me

  • yo this kid is so CUTE?!?!? XD i love his face yo!

  • :P

  • Hi, I'm really curious on taking my little brother crayfishing. Where do you go to, I know about the EA licencing and stuff, but I am not sure where to apply for the licence for? I have heard about River Tees in Barnard Castle, but is there anywhere else in Durham or Newcastle? Thanks

  • I have no idea where to get a licence from, man. I just use a crayfish trap to trap perch in my own pond.

As far as I know, there are no crayfish in the nort east rivers - maybe the tees but thats a long way from me so I never hear much about that one.

There are supposedly crayfish in the lower derwent and lower tyne but there's been no hard proof of that - a seagull spewed up a signal crayfish at the mouth of the Derwent but that could have come from 100 miles away....

  • @bexcpfc you need a fishing licsinse (as far as i know in PA) to go crayfishing

  • is that a northern accent

  • Wey aye man.

  • I threw it in there .. lol ..... nice catch :)

  • Thanks for appreciating the vid, man.

  • GO WILDLIFE TALKER

  • When is the best time to set up crayfish traps?

  • Any time of the year really - they seem to catch in any season.

  • @pondguru Ok thanks :)

  • @cianw10 great fish to eat just boney

  • wow, unbaited aswell! :)

  • There are thousands of perch in there and once one gets in, the rest of the shoal sometimes follows.

  • i'v never seen so many stripy's!! ahaaha

  • Wow! I might have to try that sometime.

  • Seems to me like a minnow trap, you don't need any bait, just a minnow stuck in there and others follow.

  • They must be shoaling at the minute as we normally get them in ones and twos. One in the trp is a bit of a magnet for others, just like minnows.
