I went to your website, you're very talented. I just don't like your subject matter. It actually kind of makes me angry that you can draw better than I will ever be able to. I would really like to see something from you on the more creative side.

It isn't fake and the shading is extremely good but the construction is traced. Either that or there is an incredibly detailed underdrawing the camera isn't picking up. No one can draw separate bits one at a time and have the result come out perfect, more importantly it is a bad idea for beginners to try drawing like this, it won't work. Use construction lines and build from a rough sketch, refining constantly.

And it would be nice to see someone do something other than a celebrity!

Very good. Word of advise; if you're really this good at portraits, film it all as a fluid (speed it up from real time), otherwise you give the sense its been drawn with a projector and devalues your ability.

@serenity6831 i don't think it's a good thing to have a drawing that look like a photo, it's removing ALL the interest of a drawing, Artists have fought for 3 centuries to find something that are differencing them from the photographers, you can draw "realistic" but with printing your own style/colors to create something that a photographer can't do.

@markanddana I am an artist and I just don't agree with tracing...use a pencil and your eye..if angelina jolie sat in front of her, would she be able to draw her with the correct proportions? She obviously has the talent to learn to do it. Artists should draw from life as much as possible and when drawing from photographs, at least don't trace them...its a bit of a cheat and doesn't benefit you in the long run...in my opinion.

Of course her drawing from real life probably wouldnt be as good. But for this particular picture, she is drawing using a photograph as the reference, not real life. There are no rules to art and its the end result that matters.
