  • Great ear, TemptationsFan1995. The unique thing about the Tempts was how they could sometimes sound alike on certain songs. The blend was just so smooth, and beautiful. Ciao!!!

  • It is Paul Williams. David's first lead was My Girl. The previous format was still in effect, also. Paul is the one harmonizing with Eddie. Listen to the way he shapes his words. His phrasing. Paul had a falsetto too, which we rarely hear, when he uses it in the background sometimes. Remember, in the early days, before David, Paul would take the second tenor part, believe it or not. Otis would jump around, depending on the particular song. On 'All I Need', Otis sings second tenor under Eddie.

  • Thank you

  • yeah i think thats otis, david had a smokey deep amazing voice.

  • I think that is Otis, it has the distinct sound.

  • BTW, this Eddie and David. Otis never did any of the Duets early on.

  • Eddie --best of the best

  • I think its David Ruffin singing along with him. check out second 22,23,24 and see how he sounds when he sings high notes. Otis goes to falsetto, David just goes up there effortlessly. just opinion of ears lol

  • It probably is.

  • @TemptationsFan1995 It's neither David nor Otis. It's Paul Williams.

  • is that otis singing with eddie in the beginning?

  • Judging from the vocals, I would say so.
