  • @Mampz147 thats how u do an upper case A

  • You write neat.

  • I love this video! Just wondering: Doesn't everyone learn how to write like this in elementary school? I'm from Holland, so I don't know if you do in the USA. Your handwriting is better than mine though, haha ;D

  • dam dude i write better then that and im only 9 year old, u write ugly to

  • you only did lower case a and not upper case A

  • im 16 on march 9th and i still dont know how to write in cursive :[ i guess computers have advanced so much that schools took out learning how to write cursive and replaced it with keyboarding & computer class .... i still feel like a dumb ass though ...

  • Lol I'm 21 and just learning

  • It'a a great video, and i love that pen...

  • I'm already in high school. Going back to my Grade school days learning cursive, my penmanship is better when its printed so this will help on subjects that require cursive writing thanks! :)

  • I'm 16 and I'm just learning how to write in cursive, xD\

  • fucking love this beat!!! :D

  • I'm watching this and I'm 15 lol I feel dumb but eh oh well its what I need for ROTC

    Bravo Team

    1st SG Burns

  • @USMCBF3Videos No need to feel dumb. I've gotten lots of similar comments. I created this video for my ESL students (English Second Language), but even I had to look up some of the letters to see the "proper" way to write them.

  • @USMCBF3Videos

    Don't you mean JROTC?

  • @USMCBF3Videos dont worry man im almost 17

  • @USMCBF3Videos dont feel bad im 17! lol

  • I'm watching this and I'm 14

  • Very nice video, very well organized. I've started to study writing cursive but I still remain with one problem. I don't space the letters in a word enough. I tend to write them too close together. Do you have any tips for good spacing of letters in a word for script? It'd mean a lot if you could reply back to me.

  • @MrWafflez28 I teach English as a second language and don't have much experience teaching cursive. I would suggest focusing on making the tails (the little parts that connect the letters). Make sure you have these. Also, when learning to make them the right height, it's helpful to use lines with a dashed center line. Maybe to learn to make the right width, you should practice writing on graph paper. Keep it so that only one letter takes up a box. I hope this helps.

  • faster please!!!

  • The capital A...

  • GREAT SONG !!!

  • Wish i can write in cursive that good

  • My Mom used to call it "real writing". At 5 or 6yo I could read and write but couldn't decipher her letters to friends. I learned the word "cursive" later in school.

  • I am 8 and I can write cursive

  • @seeclark that good

  • americans can't write cursive

  • @AjhussMD i learned cursive when i was 4 and that is how i always write in school

  • i wish my hand writing was this neat :)

  • used this exact pen only in blue for the last week :O lol

  • hey nice video. but can anyone else find that the y and z look very similar, eg writing "lazy" ?

  • @strippped I hadn't noticed that before. They totally do. Many of the letters are similar, like M and N. I guess it's a quick writing system so movements blend. I wonder if other cultures' forms of cursive are similarly simplified. I'd assume they are.

  • The Z is my favorite cursive letter. :)

  • @ShineyGreenGlitter I guess whoever came up with this style saved the best for last ;)

  • 4 people can't find this to help them write in cursive. ;(

  • Why would you dislike the video? It said How to write in cursive. What else did you expect?

  • @ShineyGreenGlitter I originally posted this as a request from a student, knowing my writing was not the best. I've since learned a lot and tried to note the corrections in the description in the intro. I don't take the 4 dislikes as an insult. I'm more amazed and entertained by all the comments and likes. I hadn't even noticed them actually.

  • lol i feel lucky to have learned to write cursive since im 4 and up , even today at my school we only write in cursive, for me both cursive and bold are really easy xD

  • whats that ballpen

  • @disneychannel611 Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball Extra Fine

  • This song is tripping me out :/

  • 非常好!希望有所能提高

  • @jjnncc699666 ooga booga to you too

  • u make it look easy....

  • thanks I just improved my cursive soo much better, now it doesn't look like a 3rd grader's writing =D.

  • The pen is not held correctly; the thumb is in the incorrect position and this is not at all conducive to good penmanship, at least for most humans. Clutching the instrument in this way actually affects the brain differently.

  • @cinejan It's amazing how much attention this video has gotten. I posted it for one of my ESL students who wanted an introduction to cursive. I am in no way an expert and tried to make that clear in the introduction. Even though it's not perfect, it gets the job done. What would you suggest to improve the method? Do you teach penmanship? What do you mean it affects the brain differently? I am very interested in such things.

  • nahh this takes to long

  • @preacherlilbyrd Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball Extra Fine

  • Lol, the way you holding the pen is the same way i holding a pen, hhahahaha!

  • @m88123ify Some people believe looking at writing can show a person's personality, maybe looking at HOW they write can also show this :)

  • Thanks for this my elementary school stopped teaching cursive when i was in second grade and i just recently learned that the essay for the sat has to be written in cursive this will really help me.

  • very nice

  • cool pen. Its nice and thick

  • This is indian music, yeah?

  • @sienna112233 The band is Thievery Corporation. The song is Indra, off the The Mirror Conspiracy album. They are American with an eclectic style, and yes, some Indian influence. All of their songs are mesmerizing.

  • THANKS P.S I LOVE YOUR CURSIVE WRITING YOU HAVE WRITING SKILLS

  • Actually embarrassing when you have to sign something nd your cursive sucks.

  • The kids I tutor were on my computer without my knowledge. Opened my laptop to this video when I got home. They are obsessed with learning cursive. They don't teach it in their private schools and they think it's cool. I couldn't believe it. When I was in public grade school (early 90s) we weren't allowed to turn in anything that wasn't in cursive. These kids now can't even sign their own names.

  • @TrixieRix I wish I wrote better. This video is not my normal super messy style. My grandmother's handwriting is like art. I'm happy to hear your students are self motivated to seek out new knowledge.

  • How did you learn to write like that?

  • @saleen122 I remember writing "it" in third grade. That was the first word I learned in cursive because it was easy to just connect the letters with a few extra lines. I've since picked up my own messy habits. I had to look on the internet for how to do "proper" cursive, but I still made mistakes. You can read about them in some of the other comments.

  • @sarzaya I REALLY like your pen !!! where did you get it ? and does it come in different colors ? xD i really liked your video i wanted to have a better signature so i watched it , my cursive looks better now xD

    Thank You :DD

  • @Catleya5 The pen is a Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball Extra Fine. I think it comes in blue and black, but I don't think it comes in other bright colors. I'm glad the video helped you :) I originally made it to just introduce my non-native English students to cursive. I've been surprised at the number of comments I've gotten from native speakers. Seems too many of us don't get cursive in school anymore.

  • @sarzaya I REALLY like your pen!!! where did you get it ? does it come in different colors ? xD I really liked your video also , i wanted to have a better signature so i watched it . My cursive looks better now ^^ Thank You :DDD

  • When I was in junior school in the 1960s we had handwriting lessons to teach us how to write in cursive script. You can bet your life they don't do that these days - more's the pity!

  • is it sad to have a 14 year old american girl having to learn this, for the first time correctly?

  • They don't teach cursive anymore in my school because the tests we take on our curiculum doesn't consider it mandatory. So i'm 17 and cannot for my life write in cursive. Luckily i left public schools and homeschooled and graduated 3 years early, but now i'm using a trace pad for 3rd graders to learn cursive :P this helped alot, thanks :)

  • @HaiCourtney I'm glad it helped, but if you read the comments, you'll see I made some mistakes in my video. I have my own personal "style" and don't write "correct" cursive. I made this video to help my ESL students with cursive. I think it's a good start, but it's not perfect.

  • p is a break letter and so is g

  • i was wondering what pen did you use?

  • @lollypopgirl901 Pilot Precise V5 Rolling Ball Extra Fine

  • Thanks dude this relly helped :D

  • Now that's the way it's done. Efficient and continuous strokes with most of the letters connected. The choice of pen was excellent,a rollerball. At home I use a fountain pen but for work I prefer the rollerballs. They are the next best thing for ink flow and are less fragile.

  • the reverse at the end was sexy LOL P:

  • one youtuber who posts one helpful tutorial like this better than those talkative ones who used to post hundreds of NONESENSE videos

  • I think you get wrong way, about capital H

  • @lincaorain Oops. You're right. It is not the standard style. I was concentrating so hard on writing slowly and clearly, I sometimes used my personal style. I'm a native speaker/writer of English, so it's not too unusual to see an H written so.

  • @sarzaya If you make another one of these just write in about normal speed and go on what you edited the video with and put it in slow motion. It world help a lot on errors but thank you. i hate not knowing how to sign my own name at the bank and other life things it embarrassing when i have to write a signature:( so thank you:)

  • @iDeceiving Brilliant idea! It was so difficult to write super slow. I'm an English as a Second Language teacher (not handwriting) and just learning how to make videos for my students. I've never used the slow-motion feature. I will remember this for next time. Thanks.

  • Ummmm not to be bratty but the G is kind of wrong it connects like a capital S and sweet lord your a good hand writer

  • Ummmm not to be bratty but the G is kind of wrong it connects like a capital S

  • Omg i love writing in cursive but i do it in smal hand writing but u rock u hand is so sexy

  • nice pen

  • thx man really helpful

  • Hey it's "dogs" not "dog" Thought i should just point it out :D

  • @HipieGirl1786 Darn! This just further proves that I am NOT a handwriting expert by far. I think I started to get a little "loopy" with focusing on the letters so closely. I was just doing this for my ESL students; it has gotten more attention than I expected. (I just checked and Wikipedia thinks it should say "jumps". Either way - I need an S.)

  • Cap S looks like a squished treble cleff XD

  • @MasterMaxD I don't know how these shapes got decided on. I think the capital Q is really weird too.

  • awsome

  • @ohmonte1 Thank you :)

  • Wow i like your video. It actually helps when you add a great ambient song, people tend to concentrate more instead of listening to actual words from a song.... Neat cursive writing by the way. mine needs a little more practice since it has been a while since i last used that style of writing...

  • @Knockturnall1 Yeah. I really like this group. My ESL student asked me to show them how to write cursive. It was very difficult for me because I use the computer all the time ;P

  • @sarzaya How nice!, you are an ESL Instructor. I'm currently taking an ESL course to improve my grammar skills. Although my English is a little choppy and Spanish being my native tongue, i would love to teach the English language in the future. I would be interested to know what is the path you took to be an English teacher.

    Best regards, Knockturnall1.

  • @Knockturnall1 I started as a volunteer tutor. Later, I joined Peace Corps and taught in Mongolia. When I returned, I taught for 7 years at an IEP in the USA. Now, I teach online at englishcafe online (youtube won't let me put the address). We are encouraging teachers to join to teach on our website.

  • @Knockturnall1 Volunteered as a tutor for a few years, joined the Peace Corps for 2 years, got a job as a teacher at a private school, went to grad school, and now teach English online...I've loved the whole trip :)
