jangzeng Don't dream!dima won't be the number 1.Anyone from Chinese national team can rape him easily.Besides, what a stupid serve from dima.

  • @jangzeng boll is getting too good that's why they kick him out? lmao, sure sure... the videos are proof nothing more is need to say b/c we all know he got kicked out b/c he loss too many matches. Don't believe... go watch the videos yourself. lol! By the way ovtcharov ain't even good as ya brag about.... Liqin will rape him anyday. Timo is way better than Oct.

  • @cooiyoung 1. no 2. no and 3. Ovtcharov beat him in the Korean open. He was many wins over the Chinese. 4. Yes

  • @Merrlol How about you go suck Ovtcharov's dick.. Faggot? :-)))))))

  • The best player ever is Swedish!!!!

    Jan Ove valder!

  • wow,, ovtcharov´s backhand is awesome ¡¡ did you guys notice the way he moves his hand and his body,, everything so amazingly well coordinated i liked it so much,, next time i will play like him ¡¡¡ lol

  • don`t you guys notice who`s geenius to create modern backhand for penhold?? its chinnese!!. chin tt just found as genius as the people. even almoust everything brand all its made by china

  • u mean everything that's crap is made in China?

  • LOL @ wang dropping his paddle and amost falling on top of the table

  • If all chinese top players like wang liqin, chen qi, wang hao, ma lin, ma long etc would have an awesome backhand, nobody would say something about it, then its just normal...

Everyone has his own talents, like ma long and wang liqin have their topspin forehands and so has ovtcharov his topspin backhand.

I'll tell you this if the european players even come close to beating the chinese players in the future, chinese players will for sure come up with an awesome backhand, they dont need it now.

  • europeans have good backhands and mid distance, asians are mainly forehand + close to table

  • China will always keep on producing table tennis champions..but they have no charisma, spark, magic each champion only last 5 years. Freak if a country like Sweden had over a billion people to choose great TT players..Im sure they would attract all the attention and kick china ass!

  • Totally agree with that, but you also have to understand the chinese culture, religion and so on. In europe all the players try to stay on top level as long as they can, like waldner, saive etc... In China its more like a life goal. Every champion only last 5 years because its enough to have everything in life in China. If you are the best in China, you and your family get everything you need. Thats how their culture works, its a way of life but not an easy way.

  • yeah, it has something to do with the population too, lol.

  • In the 80s Swedish players were best in the world, somehow the Chinese didn't develop an awsome backhand then, they just got better forehands. Backhand's naturally harder for penholds.

  • ovtcharov's serve is the russian serve...and i love his backhand sidespin..

  • Love the backhand sidespin too, don't see it too often though

  • ovtcharov is not able to play with forehand...

he can just use backhand, he's finished before he'll become a star...

    bobocica is better...

  • Ovtcharov's serve is just amazing.

  • 1:02 he learn wang's serve?

  • Ovtcharov beat wang liqin once

  • and it will never happen again.

  • dude ovtcharov's serve looks screwed up

  • ovtcharov has a good backhand but he really needs to improve his forehand if he wants to ascend.

  • what a great name wang liqin

  • WTF what was that at 0:44... that service...

  • the Ovtcharov serve...

  • lol nice answer

  • yes , but you have to walk more..cause you should hit the ball directly in front of the body in order to prevent mistakes when you play backhand; but with forehand you can vary much more,so you don´t have to walk always to the right place. So you make less mistakes.

In addition, you have more strength in your forehand..dont know how to explain this biologically^^

  • because you can cover more space with your forehand, so its more important and it should be equal good or better than your backhand.

  • but you can also cover more space with your backhand. the opposite

  • That is actually wrong, it is just the fact that your forehand has much more space to prepare for hitting the ball so it has more speed and harder spin

  • ovtcharov has one problem : his backhand is stronger than his forehand :D

  • why is that a problem?

  • the real problem is that his forehand isn't good.. if his forehand was pretty good, but his backhand was better, this would be great ;)

  • He plays 2 Donic Coppa Max and his blade

  • omg his forehand is sooo weak

  • kkok

  • Ovtcharov has a scary backhand

  • Ovtcharov is a really talented boy. He is now better than Boll was in his age.

The Chinese know that the power of germany grows. Thats why they kicked Boll from there league. They do a harder and better training with really amazing methodes.

Methodes that arent used in europe.

Ma Long is a supertalent. You cant compare him with Dima.

The talent of him is fearfull. 1 year before he has no chance against Ma Lin* for example* and now Ma have big Problems with him.

He will be the next number 1

  • It looks like Ovtcharov's powerful (but unorthodox) backhand is still in development. I tend to agree he'll be top 4 within the next few years.

  • Not agree with you about Ma Long..

  • what do you think of chen qi? i think he's pretty good too.. :)

  • @jangzeng no offence.. about timo got kicked out from the chinese superleague wasnt because that they were getting better.. the kicked timo out because he lost to many matches, he didnt win very many, my conclusion therefor:he was to bad to play in the chinese league...

  • why dont tabletennis pros look each other in the eyes when they do shake hand?

  • Cause they're mostly social misfits ... except for the Swedish team. Appelgren, Lindh, Persson, Karlson always look the oponent in the eye, give a firm shake, and nod their heads.

  • Ovtcharov plays "zhong jiao" or "chang jiao" on his backhand which means that the pimples on his bat rubber are longer.

This 'reverses' the spin each time he hits it, so that Wang Liqin cannot smash the ball consecutively. He has to topspin it after the spin reverses. There are also other advantages of using that type of rubber.

  • ovtcharov is very talented. however, the kid has a NASTY attitude!

  • Really? Does he get pissed easily in games, or is he unfriendly off the court?

  • I've seen a couple of interviews with him. I couldn't believe how arrogant he is, especially for his age.

  • Ovtcharov is in 2015 nr. 1

  • By future of table tennis i mean that he has sort of brought a new style of play.

  • he's like Kreanga except Kreanga doesn't use backhand for 80% of his shots

  • No, he`s 19, and he won`t be future of tabletennis...even if you don`t know them there are many asian tt- players which are or will be better than ovtcharov (for example: ma long, 19 years too, and he`s much better...w.r: 6). They just aren`t that famous, `cause theres much more competition than here in europe

  • i agree <.< his forehand is a little weak

  • Zhou Bin is also a very good Chinese youth player, pity he doesn't play a lot. I like his style.

  • his serves are different to everyone around and because of this he is getting cheap points and making it hard for other players

  • there's nothing cheap about having unique serves, as long as they're legal :)

  • This Ovtcharov guy is the future of table tennis. Mark my words. He is very young and has improving to do to become top 10 or so but already he is in the top 30. he's only 18

  • This guy only has a backhand.

  • hes far from beating ma long

  • Not sure i agree with tabletennis8891, Ovtcharov's 18 i believe and ranked 30, holding his own (to some extent)against the #1 player (who's been consistently #1 since about June 2004) - he has time on his side and if he gets the right coaching he has to move up considering how well he plays now. The chinese machinery is superb but this guy's got talent.

  • ma lin is the current no 1 player, but for the rest you're right

  • great backhands from white guy.

  • that guy exacly like primorac serve and eveything..

  • is very good

  • yes, he´s good, but he won`t have a real chance against the next generation of chinese players...

  • Definitely one for the future, i first noticed his backhand against Tan Ruiwu

  • This kid has a superb backhand. Learned from the best (timo boll)

  • He's the next white hope against the Chinese machine. (First white hope being Waldner, next one being Boll)

  • Hmm,Ovtcharov is younger then me with 3 months and he is playing with Wang Liqin.

Ovtcharow sounds like bulgarian name.Don't you think?

  • he's got ukrainian roots

  • Ovtcharov has quite gd backhand but he uses is many times... i couldn't believe him when when he used his backhand to return the serve when the ball was coming towards his forehand area.. but he's got a gd backhand... the problems with these players is their abiltiy to switch... thats where they ar week...

  • lol at 2:33

  • yeah is the best German after Boll^^

  • Ovtcharov was born in September 1988. World ranked 30 (July 2007)

  • that guy allways uses his backhand.

  • how old is OVTCHAROV?

  • 18 years
