i just read somewhere else that when the spark splits into more routes to earth, each spark is obviously weaker and the plug as a hole is actually less effective at producing ignition. companies are reverting to the single earthed plugs and using longer lasting materials instead. is this true?
the plug will not fire on more than one electrode at a time, it is just switching electrodes faster than your eye or the camera can see. All you have done here is increase spark plug shrouding and reduce flame speed. DONT BUY THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are just a gimmick like the bosch 4 + plugs and the E3 plugs and in the end, they just hurt performance. you will never have more than one spark without multiple plugs.
@moodman20 the spark can take more than one route to earth, reducing the effectiveness even further. I bought these a few years back when i was an idiot lol
All these videos of these plugs that make it look like all these sparks are happening at the same time are downright deceptive. They are being pulsed with very high frequency (kHz) voltages to make it look like all the arcs are happening at once. I don't care what kind of plug you develop, you will only have 1 arc per fire!
lol nice gimmick plug... Who the hell would want 8 sparks.. Sorry but one good spark is just as efficient and as good and 50 sparks. Waste of money and by the design looks carbon buildup proned.
@MrJusty330 There are a number of instances where you want to fire on more than one spark.
Emissions are lowered by spreading the spark over different areas in the combustion chamber. As your engine goes to higher RPMs you have less time to ignite all the fuel on each stroke of the engine. If generate more ignition events from different sides of the spark plug you can burn the fuel faster.
Carbon build up is not a problem because the heat of the tip self cleans due to the high temperature.
@scotta9072 High temperature can lead to piston detination so you blow a hole in your pistion then have to buy new top end or you could blow the head gasket or wear the piston rings out. on a 2 stroke it is even worse, the piston rings would scratch againsts the barrel because the meatal is softer when hot and then you would need a new cylinder or a re-bore or you could just plain size your engine.
The difference between this and a normal plug, maybe a slight difference in life of the plug, and properly gapping these would be a bitch Still can't go wrong with NGK V-Power plugs.
@scotta9072 curious why Ferrari and Lamborghini r not listed?... I heard the gap for adding nitrous and other non factory modifications to a vehicle that increase power beyond what was designed in the combustion chamber needs the spark plug gap to be longer.. can the gap be widened on this or is not needed? would it melt under very very high temperatures? can this last long as an iridium plug?
VERY COOL! Now... inject water vapour onto it and HHO into cylinder and you've got yourself a water-powered car! GO! GO NOW! DO IT! DO IT NOW! NOW NOW NOW!
In my opinion multi-tang sparkplugs are a gimmick, a fad, a sham. I just use a good single tang NGK brand plug in the correct heat range and always get good performance, long life and very good fuel economy out of them.
@zapwatt The benefits of spark plugs that fire in multiple places is a better aimed explosion, not only burning more of the fuel that is injected, but causing less wear on the combustion chamber.
@zapwatt also instead of combusting in the middle and having it spread throughout the cylinder it fires in the circumfrance of the cylinder which means faster hotter ignition
@cgk1993 Neither of those are true. #1 you cannot prove that this spark plug would create flame front originating from the outer cylinder and it is silly to think that it would. #2 if firing from the circumference seems so great then tell us all why hemis and pent-roofs have made such a big deal about centrally located spark plugs and the benefits if setting of the mix from the center of the combustion chamber.
@zapwatt I'm sick of these gimmick spark plugs. A single electrode is the best. It is self-cleaning. People notice a difference because they are sold on crap like this when they know they need to do a tune-up and then they also subconsciously alter their driving habits. The common single-electrode plug that your car's manual recommends is going to be the best suited for your engine...nothing else!
@timramich This product is not a gimmick it is sold with a 30 money back guarantee. Don't you think people would send them back if they didn't work. If the product didn't work and they didn't get their money back wouldn't there be complaints on the BBB? We have had no returns and only one person has ever asked for their money back in almost two years of selling this product.
@timramich People like you need to leave the US. People like you are the ones fueling the oil company's and agreeing that nothing works but the stock junk that the automotive company comes out with. MULTI spark plugs burn fuel more completely and reduce emissions. When you burn hotter and faster you get more power and better gas mileage.
@Vistal11 Haha YOU are such a joke. A spark either has enough energy to ignite the fuel, or it doesn't. End of story. Why don't you actually take the time to learn how a car engine works? How about other internal combustion engines, such as the jet engine? It doesn't have a continuous spark, so oh my God, how does that fuel stay lit? How about diesels? They don't even have spark plugs. Their fuel is compressed enough to ignite from just a few hundred degree heat. Try that with gasoline.
@zapwatt You can't fire more than one spark in a parallel manner. The arc is the path of least resistance. Once the fuel ignites there is no fuel that takes the burned fuel's place. The exhaust takes the fuel's place. Sparking exhaust does nothing. Fuel either ignites from a spark, or it doesn't.
@zapwatt You can only have one spark per fire. Once the air/fuel mixture ignites, exhaust takes its space and expands. From there the energy of the fuel igniting causes a chain reaction and ignites the rest. Even if this plug could defy physics and spark in multiple places at once it would be pointless to try to ignite exhaust gases.
cool idea, but the spark looks like its almost shielded from the air/gas.. the spark looks way too out-of-the-way to be effective.. plus with the large surface area, i get the feeling the spark might jump elsewhere
Our customers haven't experienced any "pre-detonation" as you call it. We have designed the heat range according to the intended application. The spark plugs have copper core to draw the heat away faster.
@MrMindfucker You wont have any pre-detonation because this is an ordinary plug with 8 prongs that looks cool. I would be more concerned with that big heavy tip flying off with age.
THANKS MUTE BUTTON !!!!
