Signing a written pledge to the electorate to gain their votes, and then reneging on that promise after those votes are irreversibly cast, is a far worse crime than telling a few pre-election fibs about a rival candidate. The electorate had ample time and were best placed to decide which person they wanted as their MP during the General Election.
I hope the good people of Oldham East & Saddleworth reject Mr Watkins and his deceitful kind.
It's funny that. You lot are so quick to notice what the Lib Dems have done wrong - but you all fail to notice that we can't abolish the tuition fees without winning the election and that the new policy is fairer than that of Labour's and than what it would have been with a fully conservative government. Please go a little research and perhaps start reading a newspaper. Thanks.
@McKenzieCR95 Each Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate signed a pledge to the electorate stating that if elected they would 'vote against', 'campaign against' 'resist' against any increase in the cap on tuition fees. Those that were elected did win the election in their constituencies, they are members of parliament and could of voted against so stopping a rise.
Dislike, flag as fraud/scam. The Fib Dems are fraudsters. Pledging to the National Union of Students that UNDER NO CONDITION would they support rising tuition fees.
hahahha change the face of British politics! You ARE the unacceptable face of British politics. No matter how you try to gerrymander the system, FibDems will be the LAST party I would support.
@intheblood1 stopping child detention- seems pretty important to me. Also if it was just the tories the whole tuition fees thing would be alot worse (i say this as a lib dem opposed to any rise) for example we made sure that if it was raised that there would be certain percausions in place like raising the amount you need to earn before paying back your loan and that part time students can get financal help, something they counldnt have before.
It looks like they can still count on one vote of approval then.
If it was just the Tories by the way at least we would know what we were fighting the good fight against, unlike we do with the likes of Cable who doesn't seem to know what he stands for. How do you compile a bill and not have the courage to vote it in? Also Clegg and co. have blown the best ever chance we've had to change our corrupt voting system and that is a downright shame.
@intheblood1 They can vote how they want, some will vote it down (kennedy, cambell and farron will definatly do so) and some won't. I don't believe labour wouldnt have increased it, they issued the Browne review in the first place after all. The Lib Dems were the only mainstream party to make things fairer for students, unfortunatly we didnt get a majority and there were 10,000,000 asshats that voted tory. As for PR, AV isn't perfect but anythings better than FPTP. its a step on the ladder.
Labour did intend to increase it and said so, the difference between Labour and the Lib/Dumbs is the fact that your gallent leader and others in that joke of a party signed petitions to say they would NOT do it but are now up in the air because they don't seem to know what to do, except blame Labour of course.
They will shortly run out of time on that excuse, I wonder what they will do then.
AV a step on the ladder, mmmmmmm, I wonder where to.

Lib Dems: Please hurry up and get a grip before people start turning back to Labour (those that haven't already).

Will the message you are putting across be relative to what you do IF you win?
I say IF because anyone with even a little sense wouldn't even consider voting for a Lib. Dumb ever again.
Have you lived up to even ONE of your general election promises?
