The USA is the most christian nation in the developed world and have the highest rates of teen pregnancy and births out of wedlock so dont let her religion hold you back.

Christian nations have higher rates of teen pregnancy, abortion, divorce, murder and suicide. I am not saying that religion is the cause but the stats repeat time and time again. Religion can be a positive....but, in my opinion, is ultimately divisive and negative.

Interpretations of the Bible and christianity has changed hundreds of time for centuries, and its all based on the situation that the world is in (divine right for kings? Lutheranism? i can keep going). And yet people keep believing in it (this also applies to the hundreds of religions/cults that exist). If religion is merely a way to take power, why is it Christianity thrives even under persecution, when there are no ulterior motives for converting? And I'm not just talking about Ancient Rome; Christians today are still being persecuted for their beliefs in countries like China, Indonesia, and Islam-controlled countries in the Middle East.

Science was never neglected by religion; just the opposite in fact. It was Christianity that saved knowledge after the Fall of Rome. Without the work of monks in their monasteries, Western Civilization as we know it would have never arisen.
If religion spawns hate, then why is it Christianity has members that contain the most loving people in history: Father Damien, Mother Theresea, Maximilian Kolbe, just to name a few.

Please, Dark Ages is an outdated term. Historians use the term Middle Ages, b/c they weren't dark at all.
The conflict between science and religion is a myth, perpetrated by 2 atheists in the 19th century, John Draper and Andrew White, who both wrote books w/ fabricated evidence, and these books are dismissed by modern historians.

And 1 more thing: the Enlightenment didn't simply occur out of nowhere in the 15th century; it occured slowly over centuries, beginning in the 12th century, culminating in the 15th & 16th centuries.
Ofc it didnt occur out of nowhere, when did i ever say it did? As Christianity weakened due to the increase of Lutheranism/Baptism/etc, scientists started to be more vocal and public about their research. They still had fears of being persecuted by religion since it challenged traditional christian science belief, i.e Heliocentric vs Geocentric Theory, which took more centuries to spread due to this fear. Don't try to argue what u dont know, or at least dont try to manipulate it.
Scientists were never under persecution from the church.
Before you say Galileo, you should know that he first published his theory on heliocentrism several years before being put on trial (and the crime was not heresy). The geocentrism theory was not b/c of the Bible, but b/c scholars were studying the works of Greek astronomer Ptolemy. The evidence Galileo had at the time was insufficeint to conclusively prove heliocentrism.
Amazing, i simply cannot believe how uneducated u are. Aristotle's idea (Geocentric) suited Christianity because it positioned human beings at the center of the universe and established a home for God. Copernicus claimed the earth revolved around the sun and that the sun was at the center, then Kepler further confirmed this theory with his laws of planetary motion, who was then confirmed by Galileo. He was tried by the Inquisition for heresy in 1633 and forced to recant his views. Thats history.
When Galileo 1st published his theory of heliocentrism in 1610, the Church told him to keep silent about it for a while because the evidence he had brought forward was inconclusive. He agreed.
However, after the appointment of Pope Urban VIII, an admirer of Galileo, he tried again, but failed miserably. His book that he published portrayed the Pope as a simpleton, and for this reason, he was brought to trial. He was ordered to recant his views, and spend the rest of his life in house arrest.
Lol, it wasnt inconclusive. The only reason they didnt agree with it was because the Heliocentric Theory had no place for God, and it didnt place us humans in the center of the universe. It challenged traditional christian belief. He agreed to keep silent because he didnt want to risk ruining his reputation or end up in jail, although that's what happened later on. U just proved ur own argument wrong, religion and science does have conflicts, even today (i.e. stem cells)

It is a shame u fail to realize why they were religious. I have already said this again and again. Interpretations of the Bible and christianity has changed hundreds of time for centuries, and its all based on the situation that the world is in (divine right for kings? Lutheranism? i can keep going). And yet people keep believing in it (this also applies to the hundreds of religions/cults that exist). It baffles me that people fail to realize that religion is used for power and there is empirical evidence that is centuries old.

If religion is merely a way to take power, why is it Christianity thrives even under persecution, when there are no ulterior motives for converting? And I'm not just talking about Ancient Rome; Christians today are still being persecuted for their beliefs in countries like China, Indonesia, and Islam-controlled countries in the Middle East.
True, religion can be used as a tool for power, but there is 1 thing you must understand: Christianity is not merely a religion. It is a relationship.

I would also disagree that there is no conflict between Religion and Science... but I guess that would more so be on the shoulders of their members. All I hear are fundamentalists claims against Scientific Theories that contradict a literal interpretation of the Bible...

Science was never neglected by religion; just the opposite in fact. It was Christianity that saved knowledge after the Fall of Rome. Without the work of monks in their monasteries, Western Civilization as we know it would have never arisen.
If religion spawns hate, then why is it Christianity has members that contain the most loving people in history: Father Damien, Mother Theresea, Maximilian Kolbe, just to name a few.
Suggestion: take a history class.

Please, Dark Ages is an outdated term. Historians use the term Middle Ages, b/c they weren't dark at all.
The conflict between science and religion is a myth, perpetrated by 2 atheists in the 19th century, John Draper and Andrew White, who both wrote books w/ fabricated evidence, and these books are dismissed by modern historians.
It has been my experience that Christianity, in its pure form, does nothing but commit acts of love.

And 1 more thing: the Enlightenment didn't simply occur out of nowhere in the 15th century; it occured slowly over centuries, beginning in the 12th century, culminating in the 15th & 16th centuries.

As Christianity weakened due to the increase of Lutheranism/Baptism/etc, scientists started to be more vocal and public about their research. They still had fears of being persecuted by religion since it challenged traditional christian science belief, i.e Heliocentric vs Geocentric Theory, which took more centuries to spread due to this fear. Don't try to argue what u dont know, or at least dont try to manipulate it.

Before you say Galileo, you should know that he first published his theory on heliocentrism several years before being put on trial (and the crime was not heresy). The geocentrism theory was not b/c of the Bible, but b/c scholars were studying the works of Greek astronomer Ptolemy. The evidence Galileo had at the time was insufficeint to conclusively prove heliocentrism.

Amazing, i simply cannot believe how uneducated u are. Aristotle's idea (Geocentric) suited Christianity because it positioned human beings at the center of the universe and established a home for God. Copernicus claimed the earth revolved around the sun and that the sun was at the center, then Kepler further confirmed this theory with his laws of planetary motion, who was then confirmed by Galileo. He was tried by the Inquisition for heresy in 1633 and forced to recant his views. Thats history.

When Galileo 1st published his theory of heliocentrism in 1610, the Church told him to keep silent about it for a while because the evidence he had brought forward was inconclusive. He agreed.
However, after the appointment of Pope Urban VIII, an admirer of Galileo, he tried again, but failed miserably. His book that he published portrayed the Pope as a simpleton, and for this reason, he was brought to trial. He was ordered to recant his views, and spend the rest of his life in house arrest.

Lol, it wasnt inconclusive. The only reason they didnt agree with it was because the Heliocentric Theory had no place for God, and it didnt place us humans in the center of the universe. It challenged traditional christian belief. He agreed to keep silent because he didnt want to risk ruining his reputation or end up in jail, although that's what happened later on. U just proved ur own argument wrong, religion and science does have conflicts, even today (i.e. stem cells)

Christians were on both sides of the debate. Kepler, for example, was a devout Christian, but he contributed towards the gathering evidence for heliocentrism.
FYI: the belief at the time wasn't that Earth was the center of the universe, but at the bottom. People believed that there were circles of Heaven that were above Earth, and we were at the bottom, just one level above Hell.
BTW: most scientists in history were religious (like Isaac Newton, Louis Pasteur, Robert Boyle, and others).

It is a shame u fail to realize why they were religious. I have already said this again and again. Science was not advanced enough to argue against many traditional beliefs, but those scientists that started to discover these theories, they began to realize how it argued against traditional christian beliefs, that is were the conflict came. It is pure ignorance for u to say that there was none. There's a reason why atheism/agnosticism is increasing every year as believers dwindle in number.

Trivia: prior to the 20th century, only 1 noted scientist was executed by gov't decree. That was Antoine Lavoisier, a Catholic chemist who was killed by the Jacobins during the French Revolution.
1 more thing: if you want to insult Christians, use the word delusional instead of blind, b/c if Christianity is false, then delusional would be a more accurate term, considering we believe in something that doesn't exist, rather than not seeing something that does exist (like non-believers).
