dear lady, you are talking about things you don't know, as well as risking to break larva's breathing tube and intestine, leaving a dead larva to rot inside the dog (botfly larvas have multiple thorn-like "hooks" around their body that anchor the larva inside the host).

Put a thick layer of vaseline or similar jelly over the hole, cover with piece of plastic bag and duct tape. then after a couple of hours (overnight) you can remove the patch and estract the choked inanimate larva with no effort

Botflies are fly larva. They don't come from mosquitoes or ticks. Mango 'worms' are also a type of botfly. There are some species of botfly that live in the southern US - the horse botfly is one that can cause a fair bit of problems. Thank God they aren't nearly as many species here as in South America and Africa. It's not much of a problem for humans in the US.
