@cartoonjerk Actually, he was. Toki was using Hokuto for healing purposes. When Amiba wound up killing patients, it drove him mad. Why on else would he have tried to take Toki's persona and use Toki's - a healer - appearance and method to tarnish his name? As far as "learning the rest," he never really learned traditional Hokuto. Instead, he made his own psuedo style of Hokuto.

@TwistedViolistOfHell Amiba was never a student of Toki, the manga said that Amiba goes into the town wanting to make a name for himself and he ran into Toki, who humiliated him by slapping him in the face, that's why Amiba wants to seek revenge against Toki. Amiba learned the Hokuto No Ken by experimenting with different people, but he never received proper training from Toki. In one of the extra contents developed by other authors, they say Jagi taught Amiba the basic Hokuto No Ken.

@TwistedViolistOfHell Besides Toki can't really teach Hokuto Shin Ken. Hokuto Shin Ken can only be mastered by one master at a time and there is no way for Toki to break the tradition by teaching Amiba Hokuto Shin Ken. Raoh made it very clear later that he can't teach people the art because Hokuto Shin Ken has a one master tradition and that's why Barasn The Emperor of Light can only copy Raoh's moves.

@cartoonjerk eh raoh spat on the traditions ages ago by not refusing to give up the martial art as tradition says once the sucessor is chosen a stupid law mind you and your wrong about why raoh didn't teach baran. He said his fist has no sucessor in short he wants nobody as a student so he suggested Baran to steal the fist and he didn't mind normally anyone peeking so to speak would be killed but raoh cared absolutely little about the laws

@ChunkeeNoodleSoup There are a few opponents who can challenge Ken (Uighur, Ryuuga, Mr. Heart, Falco, a few others). Others are evenly matched with Kenshiro (Raoh, Han in HnK 2), and a few even defeat him during their first battle (Souther, Kaioh in HnK 2, and of course Shin). Those exceptions are rather uncommon, however. Compared to the majority of Kenshiro's "opponents", Amiba put up a pretty good fight. Arguably better than Jagi, who was actually trained in Hokuto rather than copying it.

In the manga he pressed the point of some merchant guy (not a bad guy), put a 1 month limit to his life and then promised to come back and cancel the effect if he took care of Bat/Bart and some other group of kids during that time. By the time he got back, Bat and the others were perfectly fine, showing that the guy did as told, but we never saw Kenshiro fulfilling his promise. Poor guy, lol.

Kenshiro is actually a master of Hokuto fists. This case was very specific because Amiba framed both Toki and the Hokuto Shin-ken itself. Also, Kenshiro is a devoted master of this art and like many martial arts masters, he knows the difference between true practicioners and fakes like Amiba. A well deserved death.

Man, you know what. One of the coolest death scenes I remember from the series was when Kenshiro had a fight with some Knight in White Armour, who was guarding a bridge or something. First of all, you have the ridiculousness of a Medieval Knight guarding a bridge with some biker thugs, and then when he explodes, he says... "DE-DE-DEADUUU!" - It's brilliant, and someone should upload it. It also has the instrumental of "Do Survive!" on it, too!

For the record, I think he was one of Ken-Oh's Men, and Bat, Lynn and Fudoh had to disguise as farm folk. Bat was in drag, and some huge muscular biker took a liking to him, actually.
