Mass produced ANYTHING is a disgusting process that no one would eat if it were shown to you. The Green Giant plant vegetables are absolutely filthy, rotten ones mixed in with fresh ones. Buy local and fresh and if possible, see the plant first hand. At a meal in Vegas with my brother. We were seated next to a pond full of swans and geese. At one point durning lunch, a goose came over towards our table. My brother grabbed the goose by the neck, spit food down its throat and swung it by the neck back into the pond. The animal came back to our table as if it were asking for more food.
The moral of the story, you can twist and spit down the throat of a goose, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will produce delicious foie gras.

They are hung up and their jugular is sliced open and they bleed to death, most vets I know have to see it during their courses in vet medecine and they have a hard time, watching cows hanging and struggling in the air while they bleed. Avoid buying Kosher meat if you don't like that scene since it is always done this way!

And the part about how they were treated, it was you and your accomplice that seemed to be the ones doing it... (there's only the 1 with the camera and the 1 same guy...) I think this video is much closer to reality than you think. I recommend you to investigate about "force feeding" which objective is to produce a big and greasy duck liver which is a very fine plate and of course, very expensive.

There are many things that don't make sense here. This business would be extremely unprofitable.
1. Killing chicks is unnecessary since they can be sold. Also, if the chicks were unwanted, why impregnate the duck?
2. Unsanitary conditions create waste in a lower quality foie gras and inability to sell the duck as meat.
3. What financial reason could there possibly be for abusing unnecessarily an animal? This seems overly sadistic.
4. The hanging ducks at the end should have been shocked first.

At a meal in Vegas with my brother. We were seated next to a pond full of swans and geese. At one point durning lunch, a goose came over towards our table. My brother grabbed the goose by the neck, spit food down its throat and swung it by the neck back into the pond. The animal came back to our table as if it were asking for more food.
The moral of the story, you can twist and spit down the throat of a goose, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will produce delicious foie gras.

They are hung up and their jugular is sliced open and they bleed to death, most vets I know have to see it during their courses in vet medecine and they have a hard time, watching cows hanging and struggling in the air while they bleed. It is a good idea to know where your food is coming from and to support the right people. In this day and age, this is very hard to do, b/c we don't see the whole process. But if you care enough you will invest the energy into answering the questions you have about your food. Ever since the industrial age, our diets have gone downhill. First of all, why would they randomly kill a whole bunch of chicks just to throw away? that makes no sense from a making money standpoint, throwing away money? And the part about how they were treated, it was you and your accomplice that seemed to be the ones doing it... (there's only the 1 with the camera and the 1 same guy...) I think this video is much closer to reality than you think. I recommend you to investigate about "force feeding" which objective is to produce a big and greasy duck liver which is a very fine plate and of course, very expensive.

@roseicky14 i don't agree w/ you at all. i grew up around and on med-to-large dairy farms in new england, and i saw all kinds of horrific tx of animals. but it is natural to get desensitized to this when you are working very hard to make ends meet and these animals are just cogs in the machine to put food on the table. it is natural to objectify other living beings that you have to kill in your work and eventually completely desensitize to it. i'm not making excuses. i think it has to stop.

allows us to consciously decide what is right, and what is wrong. Allowing an animal to suffer, or to deliberately put it in conditions where it will suffer is wrong. we understand the pain and mental anguish they would endure, and if we ourselves would not like to experience it, it is not something we should do unto others. this world would go far if more people were capable of showing empathy towards another living being. whether human or not. clearly you do not possess such a quality.

humans, well SOME humans are omnivores, which makes it natural for us to eat meat. We have evolved over the years so that now we DO have the luxury to think about how our lifestyles affect the world and those living in it. look at all the great philosophers and great minds in the past, if it weren't for us progressing and thinking about new things we wouldn't be where we are today. farming and raising animals for food doesn't need to cause pain and suffering. period.

Most animals that provide the meat we enjoy don't have a bucolic life. They get hoisted by a leg, get an electric shock that stuns them, have their throats slit, which not only kills them but also prevent blood damaging the meat. Kosher butchers don't even shock! And you've a prob w/gavage?

when a society treats its animals well it is a reflection of their overall progress, achievement and their own well being. the good treatment of the innocent is also a reflection of a society who is benign, educated and most importantly comfortable or happy with their own quality of life. it's really not that difficult to understand.

You can put animals on an equal plane as humans if you want but don't expect everyone to agree just because its fashionable. Meat belongs on a plate with some nice sauce over it. Not sitting around the table with the humans.

additionally, humans AREN'T a part of the natural circle of life anymore. on a large scale, nothing we do is natural at all. we produce food and animals like they are plastic toys on a conveyor belt. most of our food and material objects are genetically enhanced, and many of our materials are completely unnatural and man made. all we contribute to the circle of life is an endless cycle of pollution, violence and problems. if humans were wiped off the planet, everything would be better off.

We, as a society, can look at this video, deplore the needless abuse and stop it. However, you have another agenda. You're not just condemning the violence on the video.
