@A7xloverforever6 Thank you for your good wishes. We are all doing well. On January 20, 2012, Zachary will celebrate his third year off chemotherapy treatment. Life is good!
Just wanted to post an update to let you know Zachary is doing great. He completed his treatment ten months ago and is a happy and healthy soon to be 8 year old boy.
It is indeed a very frightening experience that no child should ever have to endure - - and with respect to leukemia, boys endure this for over three years. Thanks for your good wishes. Zachary completed treatment shortly before his 7th birthday and is doing very well.
He was 5 years old at the time this video was recorded. He was diagnosed when he was 3 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He is now 7 years old and at the end of January 09, he completed almost 3.5 years of chemotherapy treatment. He's all done with chemo and is doing great thank the good Lord..
Thanks for your comment however, I disagree. Untreated leukemia is a sure death sentence. With treatment, the long term survival rate for leukemia is 80%. Your argument would only ring true if there were no chance of recovery, which is not the case here.
Was this painful for him? I noticed that you had been using ENMA from an earlier video, which sounds like it's really awesome stuff for him being a topical lidocaine gel. I imagine it's more that he's freaked out than anything but I wondered if he has had differing experiences on different accesses. Anyway, I know it's been almost two years but I do hope he's better now. And well done in taking care of him, that's a monumental task for anyone.
My son has leukemia. Pediatric leukemia patients are on a chemotherapy protocol which last 3.5 yrs 4/boys. A mediport is implanted in the chest so that systemic chemotherapy mat be administered. The mediport is also used to draw blood.
aww he looks like a sweet boy who doesnt deserve that at all..i wish all the best to you and you're family and i hope that your son gets better :) happy thanksgiving!
