i love it when people like this post drills on you tube, its good that some people want to help out for the sake of helping out, not just for money. thank you.
I'm having trouble bringing my club back. I bring the club about 3/4 of the way back. Then I BURST into my backswing causing me to either pullup, or hook the ball BADLY. I try to turn my shoulders and hips, but now I'm pulling up and missing the ball. I don't want to quit golf, but I'm starting to NOT have fun...any tips would be greatly appreciated!
@DrummaMan75 Maybe your backswing is too slow. You need to sync up the backswing with the downswing and perhaps it is out of whack somehow. The purpose of this slow motion drill isn't to teach people to swing slowly, it is to help you get a feeling of where everything is in the golf swing. Then you should speed it back up. I would highly recommend you see a PGA/TPI Golf professional who can create a plan to help you. Good Luck! Steven
Ah, I have to work hard for my Golf Swing. I can only get 140yds with my 7 iron. And I'm not satisfied with it... driver only 210 yrds or less. I think your tip will me a bit...
To increase distance 3 main things have to happen: (1) Increase clubhead speed (2) Hit the ball solid (3) Swing a neutral angle into the ball...not too steep or shallow. You can also speak to your local pro about fitting your clubs and ball to maximize your length potential.
Super instruction Steven easy to understand your swing fundamentals, could you expand on releasing the hands? is this natural in the swing or do we manipulate the hands some where in the downswing. Looking forward to more vids from you!!
Hello - Releasing the hands is never a natural thing. My definition of releasing the hands is the "process of delivering the club to the ball squarely and with speed" There are different ways to achieve this.
isnt golf slow enough

@baygirl52 Ha! Good point. When playing, one doesn't want to play slow. Thanks!

I prefer Harvey Penicks "The Mythical Perfect Swing" and his slow motion drill. Although, this is a good variation. Check it out at:

Harvey Penick recommends that you do this much slower without hitting a ball.

Nice tip...
May I know what is the yardage of your 100%, 50% & 20% in that swing?
mannxprince 2 years ago
It is different yardage with different clubs. My 7 iron flies 165yds (100%), 80yds (50%), 35yds (20%). Just to give you an idea.
Good Luck. Steven
