  • cool...give it hell man!

  • Great video. I like when he kicks the side wall from the inside and the whole thing slams to the ground.

  • I think you guys do a pretty good job on these i would let you make my house lol...

  • I would love to have a Plasma Cutter. Soon.

  • I have two words....Plasma Cutter

  • I have one word Recip!

Use a progressive blade and it will cut through this container like a hot knife through butter.

  • there will be areas where you can't reach with a saw, perhaps the combination of both plus a cutting wheel

  • Nice post! We'll be getting our youth construction team on this concept asap. So many people can be help by using shipping containers.

  • Do a search for Supertherm insulative coating, We use it inside and out.

  • I have the info on new spray foam that does a great job. Contact me for info.

  • spray foam for what? Is it available in Costa Rica(chemicals are very hard to import in bulk) Is there a website?

    Thank you

  • I about to build a shipping container home, any advice on how to keep it cool?

  • cut a hole in the top.

    and paint it wight

  • i asked this same question. They spray paint the outside with a ceramic paint which causes the metal to not absorb heat. ALso a couple in Canada used refriidgerator containers which are already insulated

  • Just know this you don't make cold you remove heat. The less heat you have to remove mechanically the less cost you will incurr removing heat. Look at ice houses or places that handle a lot of frozen food they will have fins on the side of the building this is to give greater shading hence it is less heat to remove mechanically.Fire fighters can walk relatively close to a fire using a sheet or tin as a shield the same tin sold in hardware stores. Place a tin roof over container and you will win.

  • @cdltpx Even better, take that sheet of metal they cut in the video and raise it a a foot or two above the roof. Will both reduce the solar heat-gain and add air cooling above the ceiling. Even better if it overhangs the structure so you get more shading.

  • @MakeMeThinkAgain The Carter administration dedicated federal money to studies to find the best passive heating and cooling and the answers are simple and easy to do if we just encorporated them our homes would use a very small fraction of energy. It is misleading we use the same amount of energy it is commonsense not waiting a few million years for maturity. Methane is nothing new Biogas has been in use for centuries so has solar cooking. Produce collect methane W/trash bags hose water&leaves

  • @cdltpx Look in my FAVORITES I have saved many videos that promote off grid or energy efficient living especially with reguards to transportation since that is where the majority of the energy is consumed. For ~$2K you can build your own recumbent bike that will roll you around for less than $150 a year total cost. No insurance to pay unless you want to hardly any regulations you can add a trailer to it and tote panels if you want total RE or to carry lots of stuff.

  • @streetleveltv insulate it and paint the roof silver ,,, and put it in the shade

  • must have taken a ton of grinder disks :)

  • Actually we used only one disk and 45 minutes

  • that's impressive, I was told the sheet metal is 3mm thick on a standard steel ISO container. is that what I'm looking at here?

  • @jim08816cr grinder operator must of had steady hands and was a quality disc i bet!
