  • ITF guys breaking beast

  • Very good but boards dont hit back

  • What's the name of the song used for the WTF clips?

  • ive read the last 3 pages of comments and just have to shake my head... you all claim to be lovers of TKD, itf or wtf but i see are either not serious about your journey or just not far along yet. Your info is lacking and ideals are... "young". Have to learn to see beyond. Open your mind and put things together. What is the MOST significant advantage about being trained in our art as opposed to others? and the federations... just politics. you give men (Gen. Choi as well) too much credit.

  • I am practicing ITF, which of course has the added benefit of learning hand techniques - Taekwondo = art of the feet as well as the HANDS. Regardless, I can appreciate the techniques and discipline behind each art. Anyone who does Taekwondo is challenging themselves, it is a personal challenge that we face from within. We should remember the tentant of Taekwondo which is courtesy. AND, it really irritates me that Taekwondo is not in the youtube dictionary, yet Wonderbra is! Taekwon!!!!!!!

  • @ThemBonesthere

I assume you mean 'art of the fist as well as the foot'. You said of the feet as well as the foot. :D

  • Cual es la ITF y cual es la WTF

  • TAGB is the Taekwondo of today, alough saying this its the style i practice, im not being biased, but its full contact unlike WTF and the other styles, look up people

  • @TuPaCThADoN06

TAGB is an organisation not a style. It is ITF. I used to be in a TAGB club but it was too far to travel and I found one closer to home, that is ex-TAGB. It is now an independant organisation with two other club locations but it is the same style as TAGB.

  • @Restayvien

ITF clubs don't do half the sparring or compete in as many competitions as TAGB, ive been to a few ITF clubs they are more into the fancy martial arty stuff ! im just saying tho, i like sparring alot and never got much of a chance in ITF

  • @TuPaCThADoN06

Different clubs do things differently, but TAGB does things in the ITF style (I have been to two TAGB clubs in the past). They might not be as strict as clubs directly run by the ITF, but they fall into the ITF camp as opposed to the WTF one. My current club is more freestyle than even the TAGB clubs I went to but it is still ITF style rather than WTF. We use hand techniques in sparring anddon't wear body shields, for a start. We do a fair bit of sparring in my club. =)

  • @Restayvien

I used to love TAGB but then the club kinda started to slow down i was forced to quit it cause ther wasent enough people coming to train, but since then i took up muay thai ive been doin it for about a year now its fantastic

  • Just remember:

    General Choi, father of Taekwondo.

  • @FastPancakes

ONE OF the fathers, he wasn't the only one.

  • shut up and read this WTF was created first is better has better rules andthey are better in everything

  • @andreturbo1000 LOL are you serious! ITF was founded in 1966 and WTF was founded was either 1972 or 1973 (cant remember specifics). Those who founded the WTF betrayed General Choi Hong Hi, founder of Taekwon-Do.

How can WTF have better rules if theres no punching to the head? Go play your Tae-Do.

  • @andreturbo1000 dont tell lies you ignorant twat, wait till you get attacked in the street and dont know how to defend yourself cos you cant punch lmao ITF was created first by the Founding father General Choi Hong Hi...

    R.I.P General

  • @andreturbo1000

I see you are a yellow belt at Troll Post-Do.

  • @andreturbo1000 the first type of Taekwon-Do was named taekyeon and was created in 57 BC or something. then, around 1950/70 were developed two drifting (WTF and ITF), but one that is more like Taekyon is clearly the ITF..... WTF = tae-do ITF = taekwon-do

    thanks for your time bro

  • ITF is way better

  • itf was used in the army to KILL but wtf looks better than it actually is therefore in a real situation i would say that itf is more useful :D but they are both still better than any other martial art because of the fluidity of it and the ultimate power and speed of it :)

  • ITF RULES!!!!!!!

  • "boards don't hit back" by Bruce Lee

  • @zongchips "Very good. But brick, not hit back!" - Bolo Yeung (Chong Li)

  • @StreetFighter2010 His teacher Bruce Lee said something very similar in Enter the Dragon. He said board does not hit back.

  • itf winesr;D

  • @ax3ninja your onto a point about sine wave but dont forget about hip twist for power generation. You never see many boxers sine waving but then again, a lot of people can't do sine wave properly can they?

  • @DanielTrongDao i totally disagree, how can it take more skill? They're both the same, its just different rules. WTF use a load of speed/power (full contact), ITF use just as much speed but with control at the end of the move (semi-contact). WTF player have more incentive to push the limits because the rules say they can. ITF need to show they can control their skills. Am just saying...

  • totaly agree with u there, the only reason they class WTF as "full contact" is because thay can go for the knockout. but ITF hit just as hard and tbh just as many knock outs happen.

  • en si los dos son buenos jejeje wa todos abla ingles como me mola

  • HANDS DOWN !? ITF is the more superior, WTF is bullshit , trainging is rubbish , pads ,scoring system fuck thhat its a sport not a martial art ITF is much better in my perspective its more real if any of u pussies understand what im saying WTF is A SPORT its not for urself it to entertain them thats why WTF is so FANCY. HWARANGDO!? is good its THE REAL

  • though i do sort of agree with your points (2nd Dan ITF) the way you have put them forewards/ your attitude is disgusting. as an ITF practioner you should be more humble than that.

  • if ur a practitioner u cant even spell what u are properly so,so much for that .......hahaha wtf do u want me to say its the truth instead of me sitting herre and debating with people cause of obvios lack of infromation i couild say to these guys in this restricted space im just being quite assertive abt what im saying, and another thing buddy i know some former practitioners from back in the early 80s and earlier champions back in there days and from there own mouths WTF is fucken rubbish

  • While I support your preference of ITF (I am a practitioner of it as well), I need to say a word in WTF's defense. We have something to learn from it in terms of quickly closing in. They are just so damn good at covering the distance. They could learn control from us. Don't get so emotional about it.

  • WTF rocks dude , i can actually fight someone and kick their ass out there .. hehe by the way there's not much difference almost same moves and patterns , anyways both are good and calm down a bit mate :D btw we do like WTF and ITF training both this is awesome it's same thing !

  • noooooo........trust mee noooo..........

  • till you reach 30 years old wtf and after that ITF

    believe me.....

  • I wish we could come to an agreement both are good.

We are still Taekwondo practitioners, just because what Federation we do we are gonna split and argue.

I wish ITF and WTF would come together, unite, and really re-enforce the Traditional Martial Art aspect and also have some but not a lot on the sport aspect.

  • all about politics.

i wont see that happen in the forseeable future.(the merger of itf and wtf or even

    gtf)

  • i practice wtf style and i agree with you taekwondoinstructor both should come together i love the sport aspect but i would like to reenforce the traditional side of taekwondo i must admit where i train we focus on olympic style and i love it but like i said would like it to be a litle more traditional not only sport .long live tkd

  • By traditional you mean doing the poomsae? As well as the self-defense techniques, you know the kyuop soo do? That just depends on who the instructor is and the type of club. There are a lot of WTF clubs that do that, not the majority but a few.

  • That's not going to happen because people in WTF are only concerned with the sport and are not even follong traditional Taekwondo. ITF is the only traditional Taekwondo. The creator of Taekwondo himself called WTF rubbish.

  • What other reason is out there to practice a martial art if not for the porpuse of physical development & ability?Yeah well i gotten myself into a few fights and had an advantage but i could have gotten stab or shot.Self-defense without the physical development from sport is shit.Proof is the UFC, period. Now if you do it for cultural traditions like the japanese still do in traditional jujutsu bugei.Look they have no value in today's world at least not the ones that you are thinking of at least

  • without been insulting but neither one is traditional. They were both founded on the principle of creating a martial sport althought ITF maintain more of Hwarang aspect of it but Choi was going for something more like what the Nipon karate had done in the form of shotokan...

If you understand my meaning? I think each one is great in its methods and rules, but WTF is ahead in development & ability,It is just the more dynamic of the two

  • The WTF has given Taekwon-Do a bad name for years, especially since it was accepted into the Olympics.

And here it is, the word 'Taekwon-Do' was created by a naming committee for Gen. Choi's martial art, the word did not exist before or after that in Korean or English languages.

That means only the Taekwon-Do Gen. Choi made is actual Taekwon-Do, which in turn says that WTF is not actually Taekwon-Do because the South Korean government created the WTF and not Gen. Choi.

  • i think itf taekwondo should be in the olimpas and then i dont because they might start making itf to train for the olimpic sport

  • yes, but you know why it is inn the olypics? because the head of the wtf is in the olympic comitee... and ITF could never replace it even though it is far more exciting to watch because of this. its a complete sham.

  • @ax3ninja it takes more skill to fight wtf style then it does itf style

  • you just keep telling yourself that mate... whatever helps you feel better about yourself okay.

  • taekwon-do before it was split into WTF and ITF was founded as a millitary tool for korean soldiers to kick ass CQC. after the split the general fund the relevence of sinewave and decided that was a better form of power accoding to science than merely being rigid. with this in mind, ITF is actually far more up-to-date and what youlearn is far more relevent to "one blow is sufficient for victory" the ethoson how taekwon-do should work.

  • @taekwondoinstructor

I agree......TKD is dying, getting more money oriented and corrupt because of all the emphasis on sport and competition. So many have forgotten what it trully is, a MARTIAL ART!

  • wtf split from itf. both goes back to same source. sport versus martial art Unfortunately itf split further into many groups who all claim to be the official itf including gtf which also split from itf. itf greatly influenced by karate and they were called korean karate during sixties as taekwon-do was not popular than and they were just too similar to karate. Chuck norris is tang su to and was claimed as karate champion. tkd was in the shadow of karate during that time
  • Hmm dud your slightly wrong over there.

WTF is still a martial art.

    It teaches martial arts.

Just that the Olympic Commitee build it as a sport.

Yes it still teaches martial arts but focus greatly on sports.

  • if u watch more carefully the wtf kick movement are focused on speed. while the itf are focused to power. which one is better? speed or power?

  • sorry,,honestly itf is focused both of them,,i am itf now,,but some years ago i'm wtf,,but itf have beautifull beautifull art,,and i learn so many things^^

  • dear dwrizki power comes from speed and good technique ,you could be a very powerfull weight lifter and kick like a kid,i know some skinny guys that kick hard as hell and its because of speed and good technique so i think you are wrong ,wtf have verry powerful kick's and yes they are fast and when you fight with chessprotector the kicks may seem less powerful but i dont belive that they are.

  • hey guy we can not say what is good or what is bad it all depends on player if the player have good abilityes if he is from takwondo or what the hell it will be he can fight

  • I agree with you. Speed equals power. For example, if somone shoots a bullet at you you're dead, if somone tosses the bullet at you you pick it up and toss it back. science proves your theory of speed equals power.

  • WTF = faster kicks more spins mostly kicks some punches, n when sparring they wear equipment.

ITF= similar to karate mostly punches in the head some kicks, and when sparring no equipment needed just gloves n something for the leg.

  • both need protection wtf has protection as armor, where as itf has protection on weapons(hands and feet)

  • ITF=Tae Kwon Do

WTF: Sport...like soccer, soccer also only use feet

  • ITF = 8=====D, not official

WTF = olypics games, sport and official.

  • GAH ITF WTF ALL THE SAME -__-

IRAQ , IRAN WADS THE DIFF ??? -__-

sheesh ITF is cool so is WTF

    they are both taekwondo

    gosh

    noobs -__-

  • I think ITF its the classic one wtf is the commercial one, which use almost no hand techniques and was chosen to be a profitable business as it was chosen to be olympic.

  • @eydos after reading up on everyone's views and comments on several videos and stuff, i think i've decided....even if it takes me eons to finish ....i'm gonna get my black belt from WTF and then learn fighting techniques from ITF. TKD is still TKD right? but yours was the most interesting comment...we DO learn hand / fist techniques in WTF........you STILL need to use your arms/blocks in real life fighting - not just leg power.

  • @kakliza Thanks. And yes I agree TKD is TKD no matter what. Its a good thing though that you intend to know ITF as well. ITF in my opinion resembles a martial art more closely than WTF which focuses more on the sporty side. Also, I think ITF is more streamlined, powerful and elegant.

  • Comment removed

  • @eydos thanx. HONESTLY i haven't observed ITF long enough to decide whether it can be considered more 'elegant'. WTF has Olympic recognition but ITF practitioners are said to emphasise more on 'control'. what i'm really interested in is simply : 'using what i know from TKD, CAN I TRULY DEFEND MYSELF IN A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION? ' and 'IF I EVER BECOME A TKD BLACK BELT, do i really embody the fundamental principles of TKD?'

  • @kakliza Answering your questions: using TKD you can of course better defend yourself in a life-threatening situation than somebody who has never practiced any form of martial art. But it might depend on many factors, TKD, especially WTF is rather a sport, like boxing, than a martial art in the noblest sense of the word. ITF is more suited for self-defense, but who knows? Individual work and exercise always pays off. Endurance is just as important as speed.

Second question: it depends on you!

  • @kakliza Look at it this way. WTF has kicks that look beautiful and requires a lot of dedication to master and is more sport orientated. ITF on the other hand is the original traditional Taekwon-Do which focuses on real life situations. Both can be enjoyable Arts to practice, but i strongly suggest ITF because you will gain a lot more out of it. There is a reason why ITF is and has been used in multiple army's.

But at the end of the day, do what you enjoy.

  • @randomnator well, well, hello! it's been a long time since i last thought about the wtf/itf equation, but thanks anyways, and you're right, i'm doing what I enjoy

  • @eydos

It wasn't so much chosen to be a business. As far as I am aware, General Choi who founded ITF wanted to take Tae Kwon-Do across all of Korea, and the South Koreans weren't happy with this, so they started thier own state-funded organisation.

  • @Restayvien mostly correct. the korean government and cia just plain didn't like choi. they deemed him a perpetual "trouble maker." Since he received no support from the south to fund his ITF he bartered with "the enemy" that is the north. Kim Un Yong made out like a bandit with his take on TaeKwonDo (which I think is cool, might as well have a positive attitude towards something you cannot change), as it appeared as a spectator's sport many times from the 1970's to-date. Long live TaeKwonDo!

  • @eydos i do both and i think wtf is more sport and itf is more art

  • @xxxN1nJa5k1LZxxx though wtf does have punches

  • Official Vs Not Official.

  • screw itf

  • who the hell are you?don't ever underestimate itf before u see the real one

  • fuck wtf!!! what r u try to compare?

  • Lol 1st song is from Pirates of the Carribean

  • um...that didn't really show much at all, just a couple of demo stuff, how was that really comparing ITF and WTF? Kinda disapointing, the name of the video got me excited.
